Iconic Units Spotlight: Pike Militia


There are many exceptional Units in Conqueror’s Blade that can be considered iconic. These intrepid warriors charge into battle and make all the difference between their commanding Warlord’s victory, or their defeat.

The Pike Militia has been voted one of the most iconic Units by Conqueror’s Blade moderators and community managers, due in no small part to their incredible veterancy line, which enhances their combat proficiency. This Chivalric Era Unit has been brought into battle 434,859 times by players worldwide and annihilated a total of 41,241,695 enemy soldiers (all-time)!

The 2-Star Pikemen Unit may not seem like much at their base level, but they are invaluable and essential to many players’ builds. At a reasonable cost to buy and maintain, their leadership of a mere 110 makes them easy to recruit, and they prove their worth on the battlefield. At their minimum skill level, the Pike Militia may not seem that powerful, but put some effort into upping their Veterancy and you’ll see their potential soar. This Unit can learn how to stun foes as well as hit multiple attackers. Doctrines raise their skills even higher, eventually turning them into a formidable force.

Real-life pike-wielding bands of fighters grace the history books regularly, and were especially present in Ancient European and Asian armies, using their long reach to wipe out swathes of attackers and absorb damage.



In Conqueror’s Blade, the Pike Militia can contend with even the strongest of cavalry Units with their Stand Firm Order, stopping any charge in their path, while also possessing the Swamp trait, increasing damage inflicted to enemies on horseback and reducing the movement speed of enemies.

Conqueror’s Blade is Now Available on Steam in Russia and CIS!


Warlords, assemble... Conqueror’s Blade is now available to download and play for free via Steam for players in Russia and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States)!

MY.GAMES users from those regions can now jump into battle in Conqueror’s Blade on Steam with full Russian language support in-game and on Steam news articles. Western players can now also access the Russian version of the game.

Along with this, ruble (RUB) will now be supported on the Steam purchase platform for applicable countries.

Season IX: New Territory War Rules


Season IX: Tyranny brought with it many changes and improvements to Territory Wars, and as we approach Stage 5 of the Seasonal Campaign (beginning November 22), there are a few rules and regulations we need to run by you before you gather your troops and advance towards the end goal - Conqueror’s City.
[h2]Important Territory War Changes[/h2]
Here are the most important bits of general info on changes (in place from November 18) you need to know before you begin your preparations for the biggest and baddest battle in the Borderlands:
  • The term 'Influence' will no longer be used.
Reputation
  • Reputation' is used to declare war on regular fief types (not Regional Capitals), and obtained from completing House Quests.
  • For regular fief types, Command House is determined by Reputation.
  • Building Outposts during a Territory War gives a temporary boost to Reputation.
  • In the House menu (N), your House's Reputation value can be seen in the top left corner.
Prestige
  • 'Prestige' is used to declare war on the Conqueror's City and its Gates, as well as Regional Capitals.
  • The total Prestige of an Alliance can be found on the My Alliance tab of the House menu (N). Hovering over the exclamation mark icon next to this value shows how much Prestige the Alliance has in each of the regions that are active in this season. These values represent the Prestige that is earned from all the fiefs in those regions that are owned by a House from your Alliance.
  • House Prestige is obtained from owning fiefs. Higher-level fiefs provide more Prestige.
  • The value of your House's Prestige can be seen on the ‘Rank’ tab of the House menu.
  • Adding up the House Prestige of all Houses in an Alliance gives you the total Alliance Prestige.
  • Alliance Prestige is used to declare war on Regional Capitals, as well as the Conqueror’s City and its Gates.
  • During a Territory War fief battle for Regional Capitals, the Conqueror's City and the Conqueror's City Gates, Command House is determined by Prestige.
  • Conqueror’s City is worth 3,900 Prestige, and each of the Gates is worth 1,300 Prestige. The Regional Capitals you can conquer (Anliang and Augolia) are worth 3,000 Prestige each.
[h2]Declaring War on Regional Capitals[/h2]
To declare war on any of the Regional Capitals (Augolia, Anliang), the following conditions must be met:
  • A House or Alliance must have 3,000 or more Prestige in the corresponding region (for example, declaring war on Anliang requires a Prestige of at least 3,000 in Maoyang).
  • At any time, regardless of whether you are attacking or defending, once their qualification to declare war is lost, House or Alliance members can no longer join the battle for that regional capital. Players who have already entered will not be affected.
[h2]Determining the order of attackers for Regional Capitals[/h2]
The Command House for battles over Anliang and Augolia is determined based on Alliance Prestige in the relevant region. If two Alliances have equal Prestige, whichever declared war first will rank higher.

Once the preparation period ends and the order of battles have been determined, even if an Alliance’s Prestige changes during the Territory War, this will not change the determined Command House order.

If the Command House has not successfully captured the region's capital at the end of the battle, they will automatically be placed last on the list of declarations.

During the Territory War period, if the House has met all the requirements for declaring war, and does so against a Regional Capital, they will automatically be placed last on the list of declarations.

If a House leaves the list for whatever reason, they will automatically be placed last on the list if they rejoin. If a House withdraws troops from a Regional Capital, they cannot declare war against these fiefs again for the duration of the current Territory War.



[h2]Declaring War on Conqueror’s City Gates[/h2]
The first step to claiming victory over Conqueror’s City is to declare war on any of the Conqueror’s City Gates. To do so, the following conditions must be met:
  • Alliance Prestige (or the House Prestige if you’re part of a non-allied House) must be at least 6,000
  • Your House or Alliance must have at least one fief in the Borderlands that is not the Conqueror's City or one the Conqueror's City Gates.
  • At any time, regardless of whether you are the attacking or the defending side, once their qualification to declare war is lost, House or Alliance members can no longer join the battle for that Conqueror's City Gate. Players who have already entered will not be affected.
[h2]Declaring War on Conqueror’s City[/h2]
To stake your claim on the biggest prize of Season IX and declare war on Conqueror’s City, the following conditions must be met:
  • Alliance Prestige (or the House Prestige if you’re part of a non-allied House) must be at least 6,000
  • You must have captured any Gate of Conqueror’s City
  • Your House or Alliance must have at least one fief in the Borderlands that is not the Conqueror's City or one the Conqueror's City Gates.
  • If your House is in an Alliance, only the Main House may declare war against the Conqueror's City.
  • At any time, regardless of whether you are the attacking or the defending side, once their qualification to declare war is lost, House or Alliance members can no longer join the battle for the Conqueror's City. Players who have already entered will not be affected.
[h2]Determining the order of attackers for Conqueror’s City (preparation period)[/h2]
Battles over Conqueror's City and its Gates will determine the Command House based on the total Alliance Prestige of each Alliance that has declared war.

Once the preparation period ends and the order of battles have been determined, even if the Alliance Prestige changes during the Territory War, this will not change the determined Command House order.
[h2]Determining the order of attackers for Conqueror’s City (during and after Territory War)[/h2]
During Territory War


During the Territory War period, if the House has met all the requirements for declaring war, and does so against the Conqueror's Gate or Conqueror's City, they will automatically be placed last on the list of declarations.

If a House leaves the list for whatever reason, they will automatically be placed last on the list if they rejoin. If a House withdraws troops from Conqueror's City or its Gates, they cannot declare war against these fiefs again for the duration of the current Territory War.

After Territory War

If the Command House has not successfully captured a Gate or Conqueror’s City at the end of the battle, they will automatically be moved to the end of the list of declarations.
[h2]Defending by the Imperial Restorationists[/h2]
Imperial Restorationists may defend Conqueror's City, the Conqueror's City Gates, or a Regional Capital, but only if they are legionaries of Decanos, Patrol Leader, or a higher rank.

When the Imperial Restorationists are defending Conqueror's City, Conqueror's Gate, or a Regional Capital, Unit Attire will not be used.

If the Imperial Restorationists lose control of Conqueror's City, a Conqueror's Gate, or a Regional Capital, they cannot regain it for the rest of the season.

Meet with your new French Community Manager: Milord! You may already know Milord from the Discord community as a Moderator, but now he’s joined the Conqueror’s Blade team full-time to provide even more support to the community.

We caught up with Milord and quizzed him about his love of MMORPGs, the complexity of Siege Battles, and pirates!

Welcome to the Conqueror’s Blade team! What has the transition been like going from Mod to CM?

Hi, thanks a lot! I’m so glad to finally join the Conqueror’s Blade team as a Community Manager! When I receive a question or feedback, my immediate reaction is often ‘OK, let’s forward it to the CM’ and then I’m like ‘Oh, wait, I am the CM now’!

Joking aside, being part of the CM team is a lot of work; there’s so much to learn, understand, and take care of. Still, I feel extremely attached and grateful to the Mod team. People there are doing an amazing job for the staff, for the community, and the game.

What made you want to join Conqueror’s Blade in a more official capacity?

I’ve always loved MMORPGs, strategy games, and action games like MOBAs. Conqueror’s Blade feels like all my favourite genres mixed together in one single game. I had a ton of fun playing this game, met awesome people, and lived thrilling online moments. Now I wish to help new players enjoy the game as much as I personally did.

What do you hope to bring to the French Conqueror’s Blade community now you’re a Community Manager?

The French community is passionate. They care about the game, they care about the guild they are part of, and veteran players really enjoy helping newcomers. I hope I can help this community grow and make them feel better heard.



Walk us through your Conqueror’s Blade build - which Units do you bring with you into battle, what weapon do you wield, what Attires do you like wearing?

I have a soft spot for Sword & Shield Units: Palace Guards, Azaps, Paladins; I like their style and their versatility. That said, my favourite Unit of all time is the Siphonariois, the flame-throwing Unit. You know what they say: ‘when life brings you lemons, burn everything to the ground!’

I like Poleaxe, not only because it’s a very elegant weapon, but also because it gives you lots of crowd control effects and a wide range of useful skills. Truly the best weapon to fight multiple opponents at the same time.

I really can’t pick just one best outfit, that’d be like deciding who’s your favourite child! Season I Knight Errant, Season V Strategos, and the Polish Hussar Rotmistrz Attires are all masterpieces.

Which do you prefer - Siege or Field Battles? And why?

I prefer Siege Battles; I find them more complex and require more tactics and teamplay than Field battles. Siege Battles also tend to be more intense and impressive since you have more players.

Give us your top three tips for a beginner Conqueror’s Blade player.
  • Play with the Units and the weapons you like, not what’s considered ‘OP’ or meta. Otherwise, you’ll get bored very quickly.
  • Don’t hesitate to ask for help: Conqueror’s Blade is a complex game, there’re tons of different features and factors to take into account, but hopefully, there are even more players ready to share their experience and tips.
  • Join a House. It’s only by joining a guild that you can access the very core of the Conqueror’s Blade experience, not only being able to experience the thrilling Territory Wars but also because of the fun times and memories you’ll get with a nice online community will last longer than the game itself.
Describe your ideal Unit if you could make one from scratch.

Sword & Pistol Pirate Unit! They rush at you while shooting and then draw their sword. Most importantly, they should yell ‘YARRRR’ while charging.
