50% XP and Bronze bonus starts today!

We are implementing a weekend-long bonus period for all players: Starting TODAY at 15:00 server time and lasting until 15:00 server time on Monday February 24, all battles initiated through matchmaking will earn combatants - warlords and their loyal units - an XP and Bronze bonus of 50%. So, if you’ve been looking for an excuse to improve yourself and your troops, you now have one!

Although Tuesday’s Territory Wars event didn’t go as planned, we hope those affected enjoyed the fiefs being topped-up with Silver and that, with this bonus, can restore and improve their troops for the battles ahead!

Remember that the bonus period will end on Monday, so be sure to quickmarch into the game if you want to take full advantage!

Map Guide: Emerald River (Field Battle)

Despite being a large and diverse map, Emerald River is noticeably thick with forests. Teams will need to literally choose the right path to victory, lest they become trapped on a road to nowhere.

HISTORY

With three bridges all within a few minutes travel of one another, traffic across the Emerald River has become as brisk as the water beneath. At least, that was the case until relatively recently: As so often happens in times of plenty, warlords have heard of the profits being made and have moved into the region, setting up checkpoints and “taxing” anyone passing through who isn’t destitute. The irony is that the area is now thick with competing warlords fighting one-another over ever-diminishing returns, as traffic follows the river’s lead in favouring the path of least resistance.

CAPTURE POINT A
  • Situated on high ground above the north bank of the river, Point A should be a priority for the team that starts in the north of the map.
  • Point A’s position, close to a resupply point and with towering views over the nearby bridge, make it one of the most defensible points on the entire map. The team that secures it first will not find it easy should it need to a second time.
  • Point A is a good area from which to stage further attacks. Teams attacking north can quickly assault the enemy base, while the team pushing south can use the cliffside path leading down towards Point B.

CAPTURE POINT B
  • Point B is in the centre of the middle bridge, equidistant from both team bases, with no advantage to either side in terms of attacking terrain.
  • While the team in command of Point A might have an advantage in being able to assault the bridge from the cliff path, the team in the south has the benefit of a forward spawn point from which to counter-attack both Point A and B.

CAPTURE POINT C
  • Point C is an area of raised ground close to the south bank, as well as to a shallow part of the river that is easily forded.
  • It is closer to the team that starts in the south, which also benefits from nearby spawn and resupply points.
  • The wide and open terrain invites large formations, which is fortunate as numerous units can be stationed to defend the Point C. Despite being a large map, the areas north and south of C are when larger formations should be utilised.

Free Battle maps are changing

In an effort to mix things up a bit, we are swapping out two of the maps in our Free Battles event schedule. Previously, Wednesday’s Field Battle has been played on Ghost Town and Sunday’s Siege map has been the venerable Augolia. These will change to Emerald River and Allenburg respectively - with immediate effect. Both maps were introduced last month as part of the Wrath of the Nomads update.

Free Battles constitute one of three types of weekly event (the others being Duel and Territory Wars). You can find out more about Free Battles and other events via the updated schedule.
