Character Spotlight [6/11] - Olivia

Olivia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzUJgbLHsGI
  • She wanted to become a member of a Corps Crew when she moved over to the Kingdom, but it turned out that her personal flaws, her clumsiness and tendency to get scared easily, kept her from being a member of the expedition.
  • She always tries to be kind and friendly to crew members that she has never met before. She is a hard worker, but there are times when she makes simple mistakes that embarrass her, and when this happens, she completely panics.

Olivia: "In fact, a few days ago, Mark asked me to deliver the letter to Hans. But I forgot!"

Hans

  • Having spent a long time out in the field, he always looks shabby with his face covered with a messy beard. Other than that, he looks surprisingly ordinary.
  • Not much is known about his past, but he is not from the Kingdom of Arta. It seems he came to Arta when the Monsters caused chaos and destroyed many countries.

Hans: "You don't have to be afraid of me... because I'm not your enemy."

Character Spotlight [4/11] - Mark

Mark
https://youtu.be/IwoBfD76DpE
  • A former Knight Captain in the Kingdom of Arta, currently working as the leader of the expedition.
  • Mark lost one of his arms and most of his troops in a battle against the monsters. He was especially traumatized by the deaths of his two sons who joined the army as knights; one was killed instantly by the beast right before his eyes, and the other one sustained a wound so severe that he killed his own son to end his suffering...
  • Always rude, temperamental, and negative. He's actually very cautious in grim situations, and he does all he can to keep the crew members alive.

Mark: "You don't know right now. The fear of this place... But you'll find out soon."

  • Marie's hometown was in the countryside of the kingdom, which was destroyed when the monsters invaded. The war took her parents away from her, and she had to raise her little siblings.
  • After many twists and turns, she settled in the Kingdom of Arta and started picking up odd jobs to make money for her own business. Even when the situation is grim, she does not lose hope and just continues on trading.
  • Although she is genuinely friendly, she knows when to take advantage of others for her benefit, and how to do it without having anyone hold a grudge against her!

Marie: "I can help you find anything you want!

(△ Having fun little crew members?!)

Fan's reactions
  • "I personally think that combat mechanism feels easy to me, even though, it has a variety of combinations! I easily got used to it and was able to explore a lot afterward. There seems to be a variety of maps as well".
  • "MISTOVER is fun and the art style suits my taste. I think it's kind of sophisticated, but really fun. I think I will buy it as soon as it releases!".
  • "After I tried it, I just decided to buy it! I think it's very well-made. The reason why I'm saying is that there are many games similar to the Darkest Dungeon, but they just did it wrong in so many ways in battle, motion, speed and so on... On the other hand, MISTOVER's expedition, battle, art are really well-made. I'm going to root for you."
  • "I really liked MISTOVER. First of all, I've played similar games before. Something similar to the Darkest Dungeon. Speaking of the game style, what I felt was that the original style of the Darkest Dungeon was a bit depressing and gloomy. It is very dark. However, MISTOVER has dark looks, characters, graphics, as well as cute looks. I think the whole game style is created based on Japanese comics. MISTOVER has lively looks, but it's still preserved the original dark feeling. I like this art style as well."
  • "I think I'll buy it from Steam as soon as it gets out. Because this game gives me a different feeling than other RPG games. Frankly speaking, it's not easy to find decent turn-based games with this high quality these days!"

Media's reactions
  • SLICONERA's Alistair Wong visited our booth and released a great article! "Surprised at how hardcore it went with its battle mechanics and difficulty, as well as the fact that we were getting a single-player Korean game from a large company on Switch and Steam at all."

It was great to meet you all in Hong Kong and Aimo Team will continue to visit wherever you are with MISTOVER!

Thank you so much!
