Help us design a boss!

Hey there!

You know we like to involve you guys in our processes. And you know we're working on new semibosses. So, we're gonna show you a half-developed boss. And we'd love to hear your ideas. Name. Backstory. Special attacks or features. And we will do our best to integrate those into the game. How cool is that? This way, you also learn about how do we work, which we think is kinda neat.

Enter... MIGUEL!



Ok, so at Novarama we always give monsters internal names to refer to them. We've got Sebastian (=the Abomination, taken from Sebastian the Crab on Little Mermaid), Anthony, TurboChicken and many more.

Now, Miguel is a servant of Helldörren. That's all we know about him now. And he's mean as can be, check it out:

In terms of attacks, Miguel will have rocket launchers on his back doing huge area of attacks. Or he could launch an army of Leprechauns. VFX are still to be done, so feel free to comment on that as well. Here's a GIF of him/her causing trouble:

Now here's some questions for you:
- What's his name?
- What's his backstory?
- What's some of his/her unique attacks and traits?
- How do we make the experience of fighting this fellow memorable and unique?

Here's what we have as of today:
  • This is a servant of Helldörren
  • This is kind of a delegate: Helldörren sends these to scout and conquer new planets
  • This is not a unique unit: there can be many of these, and they can appear in groups
  • And of course he's a stronger unit, similar to a Nightbringer, so he's gotta be hard to kill
