This year has been full of contrasts: on one side, we had to deal with a deadly pandemic. On the other, our company saw the slow but steady growth of Killsquad. And, maybe you guys are not even aware of it, we had time to deliver Samurai Jack: Battle through Time, for Apple Arcade, which we did for Warner Bros:

It's been a year in confinement, but also a year of amazing teamwork.

We at Novarama have always believed that, when life puts you under a challenge, is when people show their true self. It is under difficulties when you can see people's willingness to work hard and excel.
In the future, when we look back at 2020, that is the idea we want to remember.

We can't wait for 2021 to begin. Whatever challenge lies ahead, we will face it. And hopefully we will have a vaccine to end this disease and go back to normal life.

It's Christmas time! And Killsquad is in a festive mood! Come play our themed update, full of season's goodies!

Get ready for a Christmas extravaganza that has taken over the game lobby, and offers all-new, thematic quests with unique seasonal rewards!

[h3]Cosmetics! [/h3]
You guys have been asking for costumes and cosmetics for a long time. And Santa is here, bringing plenty of items to dress your heroes up! These are tied to the new Quests, so you'll need to work hard to find and acquire them!

[h3]Talismans[/h3]
Talismans are arcane objects of power that give permanent benefits to the wearer. They can be found across contracts, or on the Colosseum. To unleash their power, you'll need to find their pieces, assemble them, and power them up.

[h3]Emotes[/h3]
We all have a goofy side. With the new emote system, showing yours is easier than ever. Communicate with your team, lead the way, or just say hi! The decision is all yours.

[h3]Skill & Upgrade review[/h3]
We have spent a good amount of time fixing the heroes' skill tree & weapon upgrades, to make your decisions more meaningful and interesting.

[h3]New weather patterns[/h3]
You're gonna see better snow, rain and whatnot, as our team of artists and programmers make Unreal Engine shine.

We have revamped Killsquad's soundtrack, with +30 all new music tracks to fit different missions, moods and planets. We hope you like it!

PSA: Please remember that the progress you've made in the beta isn't shared with the public version.

Xmas is here! This update brings Cosmetics, Talismans, a new Soundtrack, Vanity Animations, Quests, and more! But first and foremost...

Cass:
· Fixed the bug where players couldn't attack as Cass after using its Shuriken Skill.

This issue has been addressed. Thank you everyone for your reports.

Xmas event and Quests:
Find Presents that are scattered around the planets and decorate your Main Lobby menu by completing the quests.

· Added Christmas-themed decorations in the lobby menu.
· Added Christmas gifts in Contracts.
· Added "A Very Lethal Christmas!" Quest. Completing this quest will give rewards and decorate the Lobby menu.
· Added 12 Quests for Veteran and Spec Ops Contracts.
· Added 12 Hero Quests.

Talismans:
Find and gather Talisman fragments to complete one. You can equip these forbidden objects of the Unseen to level it and up to unlock its full potential and remove its negative status.

· Added Talismans in the game. These objects are permanent unlockable items that can be equipped and leveled up.
· Talismans fragments can be found in Colosseum Contracts or in Unseen chests in Contracts near Colosseum ones.
· Added 16 new Talismans.
· Added Colosseum Fragments.
· Added Contract Fragments.

UI:
-Hero:

· Updated Hero's selection screen.
· Updated the equipment and stats sections to make it more compact.

-Inventory:

· Added Talisman tab in the Inventory. Unlock it once you find a Talisman Fragment.
· Added Talisman Equipment sections in the Inventory.
· Added quick switch between heroes in the Hero and Inventory screen, with the RMB, "Y" with the Xbox Controller and "△" with the DualShock Controller.
· Updated Skin's sections to include Cosmetics.

Cosmetics:
In this update, you will be able to add cosmetics in your Heroes. These are unlockable and permanent items.

· Character models have been prepared to be able to wear cosmetics.
· Added the first wave of Cosmetics, 36 in total. 4 of them being obtainable only during Christmas Quest events.
· Added body sections in the Skin section of Hero's selection screen: Head, Arms, Legs and Body.

More cosmetics and Body part ones will come in future updates.

Music:
· Added over +30 new music tracks.

Vanity Animations:
Players will be able to cast an emote inside Contracts by holding the "C" key, or pressing twice the L3 joystick with the controller.

· Added 4 Emotes on each Hero.
· More will be added in future updates.

Crashes:
· Fixed a couple of random crashes gathered with the Crash Reporter. Thank you for sending us your crashes.
· Fixed the bug where the game would crash with some users as soon as it's launched.
· Fixed the bug where the game could crash related with switching tabs.

General:
PSA: Updated the least popular skill upgrades on each Hero. We encourage people to check and try out their abilities.

· Replaced Troy's "Focus" mechanic with the "Luck of the Draw".
· Enemies will now launch upwards in the air, instead of away from the player, with Kosmos' "Stomp" and Cass' "Dimensional Tear".
· Colosseum Contracts will always drop remaining Colosseum Fragments to complete a Talisman, but some will only appear in Recruit or Spec Ops.
· Faction Experience is now visible as a reward from quests and chests in contracts.
· Added new animations on existing and new skill upgrades.
· Added Unseen Chests. These can give players Talisman fragments or Unseen Trinkets.
· Added Talisman EXP orbs. These can appear when you have a talisman equipped and level them up.
· Added Weather particle effects: Rain and Snow.
· Added more translations in every supported language.
· Added Portuguese Community Translations. Thank you Mazter for your contributions.
· Added visual feedback on Kosmo's upgrade, "Emergency Shield", to display an icon near the mini-map.
· Added dmg buff % after a crit stat in Troy's "Cognita Finem", Cass' "King of Spades" and Zero's "Stinger".
· Removed the extra crit stat in Troy's "Cognita Finem", Cass' "King of Spades" and Zero's "Stinger".
· Removed Zero's buff damage passive every time he dodged. Instead, that extra damage is distributed to his other skill upgrades.

Christmas Update Beta 3 - Patch notes

[h2]Killsquad Xmas Beta update 0.15.2.5[/h2]

If all goes well, this is our third and final Beta before our Christmas update. Expect the public update to drop late this week/early next week. This Beta rebalances the Colosseum and does general bug fixing on issues reported by the community.

[h3]General[/h3]

· We have implemented a fixed vector difficulty on both the Recruit and the Spec Ops. Colosseum. This implements a CORE-style progression on Colosseums. We want to revisit the Colosseum after Christmas (to do procedural waves, re-think some gameplay rules, etc.) but for the time being we feel it's more fun to play in a static vector than a dynamic one (thanks for the discussions Bum, tehgreg, Dism, DeahTroy & Hissatsu!)
· Added visual feedback on Kosmo's upgrade, "Emergency Shield", to display an icon near the mini-map.
· Updated the scroll in the Quests menu to have a higher sensitivity.
· Updated the description of Zero's skill, "Wave Trap", where it didn't mention that would release two waves.
· Updated the previously fixed bug of the Quest where you have to complete the Colosseum Contract in less than 26 minutes and updated the description from "Veteran" to "Spec Ops."
· Fixed the bug where the reward pop up would not appear in some Veteran Quests.

· Fixed the bug where the UI Stats in the Heroes tab didn't display the sum of the values (Thank you tehgreg!).
· Fixed the bug where Troy's "Experienced Clones" skill didn't trigger its cooldown timer with players who weren't the host.

Find and gather Talisman fragments to complete one. You can equip these forbidden objects of the Unseen to level it and up to unlock its full potential and remove its negative status.

  • Added Talismans in the game. These objects are permanent unlockable items that can be equipped and leveled up.
  • Talismans fragments can be found in Colosseum Contracts or in Unseen chests in Contracts near Colosseum ones.
  • Added 16 new Talismans.
  • Added Colosseum Fragments.
  • Added Contract Fragments.


UI:

Hero:

  • Updated Hero's selection screen.
  • Updated the equipment and stats region to make it more compact.


Inventory:
  • Added Talisman tab in the Inventory. It appears once you find a Talisman.
  • Added Talisman Equipment sections in the Inventory.
  • Added quick switch between heroes in the Hero and Inventory screen, with the RMB, "Y" with the Xbox Controller and "△" with the DualShock Controller.
  • Updated Skin's region to include Cosmetics.


Skills:

  • Updated descriptions and icons on some Skills.


Cosmetics:
In this update, you will be able to add cosmetics in your Heroes. These are unlockable and permanent items.

  • Character models have been prepared to be able to wear cosmetics.
  • Added the first wave of Cosmetics, 36 in total. 4 of them being obtainable only during Christmas Quest events.
  • Added body sections in the Skin section of Hero's selection screen: Head, Arms, Legs and Body.

More cosmetics and Body part ones will come in future updates.

Vanity Animations

By holding the "C" key, or pressing twice the L3 joystick with the controller, players will be able to cast an emote inside Contracts.

  • Added 4 Emotes on each Hero.
  • More will be added in future updates.


Colosseum:

Vectors will no longer matter in this arena, only your skill.

  • Removed Vectors in Colosseum Contracts.
  • In Recruit's Colosseum Contract, both enemies and players will have their Vector levels matched, regardless of its equipped items.
  • In Spec Ops' Colosseum Contract, enemies will always be a step over you, with its Vector levels being slightly higher.
  • Colosseum Contracts will always drop remaining Colosseum Fragments to complete a Talisman, but some will only appear in Recruit or Spec Ops.


General:

PSA: As discussed in our Player Survey, we have updated the least popular skill upgrades on each Hero. We encourage people to check and tryout their abilities.

  • Added new animations on existing and new skill upgrades.
  • Replaced Troy's "Focus" mechanic with "Luck of the Draw".
  • Enemies will launch upwards in the air, instead of away from the player, with Kosmos' "Stomp" and Cass' "Dimensional Tear".
  • Removed his buff damage passive every time he dodged. Instead, that extra damage is distributed to his other skill upgrades.
  • Added Unseen Chests. These can give players Talisman fragments or Unseen Trinkets.
  • Added Talisman EXP orbs. These can appear when you have a talisman equipped and level them up.
  • Added Weather particle effects: Rain and Snow.
  • Cass' Decay skill lasts 1 second longer.
  • Added more translations in every supported language.
  • Added Portuguese Community Translations. More to come in upcoming updates (Thanks a lot Mazter!).
  • Added dmg buff % after a crit stat in Troy's "Cognita Finem", Cass' "King of Spades" and Zero's "Stinger".
  • Removed the extra crit stat in Troy's "Cognita Finem", Cass' "King of Spades" and Zero's "Stinger".
  • Fixed the issue where players would suddenly stop after skipping the dialogs by spamming the B or O button with the controllers.
  • Fixed some emissive and vfx materials being too bright after Core Update's rendering changes.
  • Fixed the bug where the upgrade "BETTER WEAPONS IN BLACK MARKET" could still appear in the gear "KORMOS-4994" (Thank you "Hissatsu").
  • Fixed the bug where the "Upgrade Available F1" UI to show the text on its correct size in every supported language.
  • Fixed the bug where the text at the rewards screen wouldn't appear on its correct size in every supported language.
  • Fixed tutorial splash screens to appear on its correct size in every supported language.
  • Updated localization files.
