Zone 0 almost ready for test. :D And please check the list below for April tasks.

In some abandoned shelter or even large places like hotel, There might be a generator. You can light up those places by activating the generator.

I have changed the car parts management mechanics to a new one. And some large items can no longer be stored in a inventory (engine, tire, etc).

You can sometimes accept missions from the survivor camp. They may ask you to help build a building. or destroy something, kill some one and when you complete the mission, the environment in that area will change.

I have reworked the new object moving system. You will be able to move things into very narrow place, spaces. This new system will have 2 stages, you can switch between 'Carrying mode' and 'Placing mode (edit mode)' by press 'F'. Left Mouse Btn will also throw objects away.

[h3]Old Map Rework[/h3]
I decided to connect the old map to the current one. And new player will start the game at old map area (Call it Zone 0). Which the current map V.0.5.0 (Lets call it Zone 1) will be more difficult. You'll need to defeat 'Tank' before you can cross from Zone 0 to Zone 1.

The Old map will be re-visual, But every place or landmark will remain the same. (There will be additional new locations for Zone0 as well)

Hello everyone!

For the January task, I mostly focused on moving the project to Unreal Engine 5. From the first test, There are some legacy systems that don't work. Such as Car physic (which I intend to rework anyway).

And "World Partiton" (UE5 New feature) can greatly reduce stutter during level streaming. But there are still many parts that need to be optimized.

New Version Update 0.5.2


Hello everyone

This version will be the last version that will use UE4. The next main patch will be 0.6.0 which will be changed to UE5. (There are still bug fixes/ hotfixes in 0.5.x) All new content that hasn't been added yet, will be added in this version.

For the WIP, and progress update. I will post it in a few weeks.

Bug fixes
  • Car rolls away when player jumping or climbing
  • Random items floating in the air (Farm with seeker nest)
  • Puzzle door not save
  • The dog leans,spins or has an error rotation when the vehicle rolls over.
  • The elevator in the mine cannot transport object, lockers
  • Destroy the fish pond and the fish are still swimming.
  • Interior props does not load when saving inside a house or building.
  • Wooden spike status not saved
  • Carcass not saved
  • Some Outhouse door cant open
  • Cant climb some ladder (Bandit tree base)
  • Arrows UI overlaps with Player status UI (weight, heat, etc.)
  • Can't use a knife, Machete etc... to destroy and harvest resources from bushes


Optimization

Optimize shader can reduce stuttering when load and unload level, But there are still more than a thousand items that I need to fix. I will continue to fix more in the next patch.
  • reduce texture size
  • clean up unused texture
  • Optimized some shaders.
  • Project file size reduced from 25gb to 20gb


New Feature
  • Survivors Camp
    For now, there will be only trading features. And you can also enter this area without having to complete a quest.
  • New Gun added : Semi auto shotgun (Can only be traded from survivor camp)

  • Add River (Still unable to fish in the river)

Hello everyone

For the first priority is still bug fixes, performance fixes and reduce stuttering while streaming levels. This patch should be ready within the next month.

These are some tasks I am working on. (Work in progress)
