Gamedec - Definitive Edition News

Turkish language when?

They say "to travel is to live." We would rather say, "to play is to travel." So, let me take you on a journey. Our first stop is in Turkey.

Those of you who have followed the project since its first announcement, right before the Kickstarter campaign, know that a community-driven development was crucial to us. Due to the enormous number of requests for Turkish language implementation, we decided to add it to the game.
It's worth noting that the Gamedec Steam forum topic about the Turkish language is still the most discussed thread, with many different points of view from our Turkish community. Let's dive into it:

WE LOVE YOU!

And yes, in the next update Turkish language will be added. We realize it took some time, and many of you may have felt like this:

BUT NOT ANYMORE!

So, Gamedec visited Turkey and solved a couple of cases in their virtualias; now it's time for another travel. This time we will stop in Korea. It was obvious that we should add the Korean language to the game. We love K-pop. W love K-dramas. You probably never figured it out, but one of the levels is actually a tribute to Korea. I mean, K-night's Code. I bet you didn't know that. Gamedec developers team probably too

When our tour ends, the guide voices his goodbyes.

WAIT! Did somebody say "voice"? Let me check the patch notes. Voice. Aha! Partial voiceovers will be added in the next patch.

We hope you enjoyed the trip, which was a foretaste of what awaits you in two weeks. Gamedec, out.

New Character - Old Sailor Izmael Krostov!

Hello, Detectives!

Recently we have introduced you to Dafne Bennet, and she is not the only new character who is joining the Gamedec team!❤️

Meet Izmael Krostov; his story and life are rich in experience, let's take a look at his backstory:

Izmael didn't miss the land, and he didn't miss the City. Low, Mid, High, Under, doesn't matter. He didn't. He liked the sea. He liked the close quarters of his submarine, his crew, and his service. He spent almost fifty years on this craft, and he was closer to it than to any human. His submarine and the sea were the most important things in his life.
And then it all came to an end. Just like that. He was too old to stay in the army, they said. When he pointed out he was the best-damned technician they had, they didn't say anything. Didn't know what to say. They mumbled their apologies, their "thank-you-for-your-service" and sent him on his way back to the city he barely remembered.

Things he tried to escape when he joined the army as a teen: poverty, mob, Undercity, were right there, where he left them. Now there were new mobsters, sure, but they played the same role.
His family was gone, though, his older sisters and parents. He probably had nephews. He didn't want to look for them, though. Not yet. Not when he was lost in the city like trash thrown on the shore.

He looked for a job for a short while, but folks don't really want to hire old people, and even if they did, Izmael found it hard to follow someone's lead again. Why should he listen to someone who hadn't even had a rank?

He needed independence, one thing that he craved while in the army. He needed to be his own man, captain of his own ship, as it were. It's no wonder he became a gamedec, really.

Izmael has been through a lot... His experience designed his character; he is straight-forward, he relies on his excellent intuition when he is chasing his goals, and despite his age, he is full of energy! (keep this information in mind when you'll be using your aspect points)🔥

What do you think?🤔

Are you as excited for Izmael as we are?

New Character - a V-runner, actress and now Gamedec! Meet Dafne Bennet!

Detectives!

We're excited to present you a first, brand new DLC character - Dafne Bennet joins the Gamedec roster 🔥

Let's get into her story, and it is interesting❗

Who did you want to be when you were a kid? A professional gamer playing the Goodabads wreaking havoc among the enemy ranks? A V-Runner with a great sense of justice catching bad guys? Or a famous actress bathing in glitz and glamour? Dafne Bennet was it all. She spent most of her childhood treasure hunting, fighting beasts, and solving mysteries. She lived through all the lives of heroes from holomovies and infolias… But not her own.

Growing up in High City, with a caretaker as her only friend, she dreamed about living outside her glass walls. With a rare medical ailment, she was already an outsider among her peers. Her parents' overprotectiveness made it even worse. With imagination at her disposal, she had the whole world at her fingertips. At the same time, she was banished from it.

Then finally, the experimental treatment worked. She got better; she could finally start living. She craved adventure. She explored everything within the city limits. She traveled to other human-made hubs. But still, she yearned for more. She wanted to see what lies behind the Anti-Bios Barrier separating wildlife from humans, so she tried to join the Out-Rangers, a special military group patrolling areas outside the ABB, but with her health record, that was not an option.

Dafne didn’t give up. She was a game mistress of her own story, and being a gamedec played right into her strengths. Visiting the virtual worlds, solving mysteries, and creating her own adventures were what she knew best. She quickly learned the ropes and got a few trusted clients. A cliché every cloud has a silver lining took on meaning for her because right now she was living the dream. She was needed, she was wanted, and most importantly, she could finally be herself.

What do you think? In our opinion, it's quite a story! To spice things up, we can tell you something more; Dafne is a very good listener; also, discretion is her thing and strength (you may want to consider that information when you'll be spending aspects points 😉)

With that much experience, she is a perfect candidate for Gamedec! ❤️

We are super excited, are you?
