We know we teased you with an end-of-March release, but we've been fine-tuning the update and adding those final touches, so... we've decided to take a few extra days to ensure everything goes smoothly. Better safe than sorry, especially with Easter approaching. The weekend is upon us, and while we love surprises, we're not about to throw caution to the wind. We've seen what can happen when issues pop up at the last minute (Skylight was patched during Xmas, if you catch our drift...). But fear not, the wait won't be long: next Friday is the latest you'll have to hold out! You see, we're a small team of five, and while we work at warp speed, we also want to ensure every detail is perfect. That's why we decided to skip GDC and focus on what we've been cooking up for months to come!

So, sit tight, keep those controllers charged, and get ready to dive headfirst into Plamen next week! We've got your back, and we promise it'll be worth the wait. Testing Chronicles, updating plans and gearing up for big news to come!



Hello Champions!

We're thrilled to confirm that Chronicles, our highly anticipated major content update, is well underway and set to arrive by the end of this month! We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated community, especially to Roberto, whose eagle-eyed feedback has been invaluable in spotting issues! This update brings a plethora of fixes to enhance your gaming experience, along with significant reworks to companions and party management. The Magocracy of Valestrum will be the main dish of course, stay tuned for news to come! Now, why the headline referencing the Ides of March? Historically, this date holds significance, often associated with notable events [Julius Cesar anyone?] Yet, for us, yesterday marked a pivotal moment as we gathered for a major studio meeting. In the backdrop of industry upheavals with mass layoffs in major studios, we couldn't help but reflect on the challenges we face as a small team.

Going indie isn't always the easy solution, but it grants us the autonomy to steer our ship. We're optimistic about the emergence of innovative projects from the talented developers affected by recent layoffs. However, the reality is, bills must be paid, and the path ahead remains difficult. Amidst these reflections, the Ides of March usher in new beginnings for us: a fresh roadmap to share, ongoing discussions shaping our studio's future, and perhaps most excitingly, a potential release window for Alaloth 1.0. While we can't divulge more just yet, rest assured, major announcements are on the horizon in the coming weeks!

As we gear up for the season of events, starting with the Game Developer Conference, brace yourselves for a great spring and a scorching summer filled with thrilling updates. We can't wait to share more details soon!

The Magocracy of Valestrum, a new kingdom in Plamen, opens its gates in March!



Hello Champions!

It's been an exhilarating month of hard work here, fueled by your invaluable feedback. Thanks to your dedication, we've tackled a multitude of pesky bugs and implemented numerous community-suggested improvements, ensuring that your journey through Plamen is smoother and more immersive than ever before. And now, as the dust settles on our latest endeavors, we stand on the cusp of a new adventure: the Chronicles Update is dropping in March!. We are going to add a new kingdom, introducing the enchanting Magocracy of Valestrum in the southern expanse of Plamen, adjacent to The Luminous Triarchy. Here, the mysteries of magic await your exploration. Prepare to immerse yourself in a world of arcane wonders as you embark on new quests, form alliances with new factions, and encounter memorable characters. It's just the beginning of our ambitious plan to change spellcasting and spells in future updates. We've taken a fresh pass on the lore, meticulously combing through every tale and legend to ensure consistency and coherence. Texts have been refined, inconsistencies rectified.

Spellkeep is the home of the greatest mages of Plamen

Among the myriad of changes, companions take center stage with a fresh new approach. Reworked and revitalized, they will now heed your every command in combat, granting you unprecedented control over the battlefield. While companions are guaranteed to be 100% present in Chronicles, we're giving our all to bring you a new crafting system as well, but it is still in the work so we need more time to be sure to deliver on time. Last but certainly not least, prepare yourselves for the arrival of a massive new enemy looming on the horizon of Plamen...

Chronicles will be the sixth major update to be released, following Strongholds, Winterwrath, Dragonhold, Lorebound and Skylight! But our work is far from done. In the days to come, we'll reveal more about the mysteries of Valestrum, the intricacies of crafting, and the looming threat that awaits you!
