uFactory DevLog: July 2025

[p]Hi everyone! uFactory is just about to release, so here's the final pre-release devlog![/p][p][/p][p]It's been a long journey to get here, so I want to outline what comes next:[/p][p][/p]
Post Release Plans
[p][/p]
Modding Support
[p]First thing that will happen post-release is a series of guides on using the tools built into uFactory to mod the game. The plan is to build a user-editable wiki with guides and screenshots and release a sample mod to show how its done. This will also come with Steam Workshop integration so you can share your mods with other people![/p][p]The tools are already there, we just need the starter documentation to get the community going on the modding journey![/p][p][/p]
Additional Content
[p]If sales and interest supports it, the plan is to keep releasing steady new content packs and levels to play for free.[/p][p][/p]
Planet Campaign?
[p]While the planned planetary campaign didn't make it into the main release of the game (it was an albatross holding it back, the resources just weren't there to do it justice), the hope is that post-release sales will be enough to help fund the development of the campaign proper. It already exists as a prototype, but it needs a lot of work and balance and testing before it could ever be released. As such, if sales are enough to justify it, it would be released as a paid DLC, but with a steeeep discount at launch as a thank you to Early Access players.

[/p][p]You may have noticed that much of the above is conditional on sales and player interest. Unfortunately, uFactory in Early Access has not sold anywhere near well enough to sustain development costs, and has ultimately led to a loss. Therefore, if post-release sales do not justify additional development, then the mod documentation will likely be the last update. If you want to see more content, please help spread the word![/p]
