Demo v2 Release

[p]Demo v2 Release
[/p][p]I stated last year that a big change was coming and the future of Neon Sword looked different to the version before demo v2 or promoted in videos - I'm cutting a lot of content to make the game more manageable for me as a solo dev, the story will remain the same and the open world will still be the same below are the list of changes to the game and updated in the demo -

Scope and Feature Adjustments

  • [p]Simplified Business Management: The business simulation aspects have been scaled back to a more basic level.[/p]
  • [p]Inventory Overhaul: The inventory system has been simplified, now utilizing a weapon wheel for easier access and management.[/p]
  • [p]Clothing Customization: Changing outfits is now done through a selection menu available at the player's home, after purchasing clothing items from in-game stores.[/p]
  • [p]Removal of Corporation Management: The feature allowing players to manage corporations has been removed to reduce complexity.[/p]
  • [p]Removal of Character backgrounds: This choice is currently in debate and maybe reverted depending on feedback.[/p]
  • [p]Camera and movement: The in-game and movement have been updated to match current trends - tank movement is no longer in-game and I've removed camera auto movement due to feedback.

[p]Core Elements Retained[/p][p]Despite these changes, the following core aspects of Neon Sword remain intact:[/p]
  • [p]Narrative Consistency: The overarching story and its progression have not been altered.[/p]
  • [p]Quaid City: Quaid City's open-world environment continues to be a central feature, and the full map will be available on release.

[p]The updated demo offers:[/p]
  • [p]Playable Missions: A selection of short missions with multiple dialogue options to influence outcomes.[/p]
  • [p]Exploration: Access to approximately three-quarters of Quaid City, providing a substantial area for players to navigate.[/p]
  • [p]Gameplay Duration: Around 40 minutes of gameplay spread over two in-game days.[/p]
  • [p]Side Activities: Additional side jobs and activities to engage with beyond the main missions.

I think I fixed most the bugs from the last demo but if you do find any please feel free to let me know here on the steam forums or on my discord.

Demo v2 And Coming Changes

Lately I've realised the scope of NS is pretty large, though Quaid City is pretty much done and the story is planned out. 
I have noticed places where people seem to be having issues no matter what, so I've sat and thought about this for a while while working on the game. I have now decided some content and customisation will be removed and some will be unlocked earlier to give the player more to do. On foot movement & camera will overhauled and some slight changes to the player driving.

The plan is now to release early next year into early access instead of this year to give me time to make these necessary changes.

Steam Next Fest Demo

Neon Sword is taking part in the June Steam Next Fest. The demo is live now and will continue during and after the event. I will be updating the demo when major bugs are found and fixed.

Neon Sword Early Access And Development

Hey everyone; with the early access coming up this year, I will be announcing an specific date in the near future but before then I will be making videos showing off the world of Neon Sword and hopefully show off the scale of the Quaid City, I'm proud to have made this city and game alone and it's finally time to show off the work I have been doing I will also be posting a roadmap and gameplay videos in the coming weeks.
