Patch 1.0.6b rolling out now...

We are rolling this patch out as well. It's available now for Windows on Steam. Mac and non-Steam patches coming soon. on all platforms.

IMPROVEMENTS:
* Reduced stranger wolf territory strength at the start of Slough Creek, so they have to spend some time strengthening their own hexes before they can start expanding their territory. (Will only be in effect in new games in Slough Creek.)

BUGS FIXED:
* One territory hex is offset.
* Some water is pixellated on MacOS.

Patch 1.0.6a rolling out now....

This patch is now available for both Windows and Mac.

IMPORTANT: Mate Commands tutorial tip incorrectly said to Growl to send mate back to den, should be Woof. Sorry about that!

IMPROVEMENTS:
* Reduced territory decay rate during Establish Territory quest by 10%. Should make it a bit easier to claim and maintain your hexes.
* Reduced territory decay rate on Easy difficulty after pups have arrived significantly (Was accidentally set too high -- sorry!)
* Added clearer note in tips and notificatinos about dens glowing in scent view, to help you find them.
* Pups will come out of den or tall grass if commanded, even if there is a competitor or prey animal nearby (previously would stay in hiding).

BUGS FIXED:
* Game can occasionally get stuck at start of new episode, so the camera doesn't swing around behind the wolf and give the player control.
* Mate Commands tutorial tip incorrectly says to growl to send mate back to den, should be woof. Sorry about that!
* Two dens misclassified as wooded when they should be open.
* One territory hex in Slough Creek is offset.
* When using controller, some tips and notifications say "glyph" instead of showing the correct controller input icon.
* Den Info doesn't display in Pack Info in certain situations.
* Layout glitch when selecting an abandoned den again.
* Pup stuck in den (doing non-den things without exiting first).
* Mate can get stuck when exiting den.
* If all pups die, the game congratulates you on completing Slough Creek.
* Wolves swim in shallow flooded area in First Meadow.
* Wolf fight music can play during den attacks.
* Terrain and rock issues.

Slough Creek! A new home to raise a new pack.

UPDATE: Apparently Steam has decided in its infinite wisdom that this is the update to roll out gradually.... Some people have gotten it, others have not. (I've gotten it on Mac but not on Windows). Sorry about that! Please be patient and it should show up soon for everyone.

With pups on the way, you and your mate have moved to Slough Creek to establish territory, find a den, and raise your family pack. You must hunt to keep them well fed and protect them from predators. But life is not only about food and fighting. Relax in the sun. Loaf around and play with your pups. Enjoy yourself. It's spring and summertime in Yellowstone, and you and your family are living the life of wild wolves!
WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition is a complete remake of the original game. We have released two episodes: Amethyst Mountain and now the Slough Creek, as well as the Lost River Classic map, for PC/Mac on Steam and itch.io, as Early Access.

While in Early Access, we are updating the game frequently with more features and multiplayer (now available for Amethyst Mountain and coming soon for Slough Creek).

The mobile version will come after the game is completed on PC/Mac platforms.

We’ll then resume development of the next episode, the Tower Fall expansion (DLC).

When When When? (Part Two)

It's hard to believe, but the big day is almost here. Slough Creek releases into Early Access tomorrow, December 30th!

A few things in advance:

1) We are aiming to release it around midday, Central Standard Time (UST -6), but if things don't go according to plan, it could be later.

2) The game's hardware requirements are unchanged, be sure to check them to make sure your computer is at or above those requirements. We know that some players with weaker computers have been able to run the game, and we've worked hard to make Slough Creek perform about the same as Amethyst on a range of computers, but there's certainly a chance that it will run more slowly on some weaker or older computers.

3) Slough Creek is a free update to WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition, so if you have already purchased WQ:AE (or gotten as part of your WQ:2.7 purchase), the game will update itself automatically (via Steam or the WQ launcher).

4) Remember that WQ:AE is still in Early Access! While Slough Creek is in good shape, we still have many things, bug-fixes and additional features big and small, on our to-do list. (Big things like beavers and bighorn sheep and multiplayer; small things like additional audio cues and many more.)

5) Questions about the game as you play? Check out the Knowledge Base, which will be updated on Wednesday with information about Slough Creek quests, and the Game Help in the game itself, accessible via the Options menu. If the game crashes, try restarting your computer and verifying the game data.

6) Find a bug? Please use the bug reporter (F11 or via the Pause menu), and please provide as many details as you can, especially on how we can reproduce the bug. Don't assume that the bug is obvious, as quite often it's due to a particular sequence of events that aren't automatically replicable.

7) Are there more wolf coats? The Slough Creek update will include five new wolf coats based on ambassador wolves at the International Wolf Center. We are also planning DLC with 15 more coats, based on actual Yellowstone wolves. This will be available for purchase within a few months.

8) What about the mobile version? That is still in planning and we will start focusing on it more intently as we get closer to finishing Slough Creek.

We are very excited to get the product of years of work into your hands, and it would not have happened without the talents and dedication of our amazing team, our science advisors, and all our beta testers. Our deepest thanks to everyone who helped us get to this point!
