When When When? (Part Two)

It's hard to believe, but the big day is almost here. Slough Creek releases into Early Access tomorrow, December 30th!

A few things in advance:

1) We are aiming to release it around midday, Central Standard Time (UST -6), but if things don't go according to plan, it could be later.

2) The game's hardware requirements are unchanged, be sure to check them to make sure your computer is at or above those requirements. We know that some players with weaker computers have been able to run the game, and we've worked hard to make Slough Creek perform about the same as Amethyst on a range of computers, but there's certainly a chance that it will run more slowly on some weaker or older computers.

3) Slough Creek is a free update to WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition, so if you have already purchased WQ:AE (or gotten as part of your WQ:2.7 purchase), the game will update itself automatically (via Steam or the WQ launcher).

4) Remember that WQ:AE is still in Early Access! While Slough Creek is in good shape, we still have many things, bug-fixes and additional features big and small, on our to-do list. (Big things like beavers and bighorn sheep and multiplayer; small things like additional audio cues and many more.)

5) Questions about the game as you play? Check out the Knowledge Base, which will be updated on Wednesday with information about Slough Creek quests, and the Game Help in the game itself, accessible via the Options menu. If the game crashes, try restarting your computer and verifying the game data.

6) Find a bug? Please use the bug reporter (F11 or via the Pause menu), and please provide as many details as you can, especially on how we can reproduce the bug. Don't assume that the bug is obvious, as quite often it's due to a particular sequence of events that aren't automatically replicable.

7) Are there more wolf coats? The Slough Creek update will include five new wolf coats based on ambassador wolves at the International Wolf Center. We are also planning DLC with 15 more coats, based on actual Yellowstone wolves. This will be available for purchase within a few months.

8) What about the mobile version? That is still in planning and we will start focusing on it more intently as we get closer to finishing Slough Creek.

We are very excited to get the product of years of work into your hands, and it would not have happened without the talents and dedication of our amazing team, our science advisors, and all our beta testers. Our deepest thanks to everyone who helped us get to this point!

Ambassador Wolf Coats (Devblog)

Five wolf coats are coming to WolfQuest soon! In the next update, you'll be able to choose from coats based on some of the past and present ambassador wolves at the International Wolf Center. The IWC has been a key partner in the development of WolfQuest from the very start in 2005, and we're delighted to feature five of their beloved wolves in the game. Today's devblog gives a preview of three of these new coats, based on Aidan, Boltz, and Grizzer. The two others will remain a secret until this update is released -- it's coming soon, along with Slough Creek!
