Operative Profile - Rush

Greetings Operatives!

Reporting in for our final Operative Profile – our series where we look at the weapons, skills, and abilities of Lemnis Gate's deep space operatives. We’ll also be giving you a bit of insight into the Operative’s backstory, and what has guided the path of their lives until the time we are playing in. Your teams are made of specialists in their fields, from soldiers to scientists, which have been brought together by Lemnis Industries to help save humanity from utter extinction.

This week’s profile features Quentin Anderson, an operative known by the codename “Rush”. A decorated soldier, he jumped at the chance to test early versions of Lemnis’ Kinetic Booster. Speed is where he excels, so we can’t wait to see what quick-witted strategies you come up with to best put him to use.

Before joining the military, Quentin grew up on the sunny shores of Jamaica and takes great pride in his cultural heritage. Due to this, when he’s not deployed or training, he prefers to take it slow and spend time enjoying the little things in life. Still a kid at heart, his favourite down-time activity is snacking on cereal while watching cartoons.

As mentioned prior, Rush was approached by Lemnis Industries as they saw his skill and speed in the field and knew he’d be the perfect candidate to test their Kinetic Booster, and he was thrilled for the opportunity. Similar to a jetpack, he wears this pack on his back during combat and uses it to amplify his already-impressive agility. However, his favourite part is its propulsion technology that allows him to maintain his agility while in midair – luckily his suit is fire retardant!

Rounding out Rush’s arsenal are his Dual Shredders, a pair of double machine guns that fire at a speed that rivals his own – but be wary, their high rate of fire is offset by a low damage output, so you’ll have to be strategic about where you target. His manoeuvrability allows you to get more done per loop than other operatives, so we recommend experimenting with how to work this in your favour.

Depending on the round and the Game Mode you’re playing, how you want to approach utilising Rush may change. During a round of Retrieve XM, deploying Rush early to get ahead of the objective and collect multiple points may put you at an early advantage. However, keeping him until the end and then making the most of his map traversal could allow you to nab any leftover XM from the field. You’ll have to consider your options and pick the best strategy for your gameplay style.

Of course, Rush’s map traversal can help in far more situations than that. By using his Kinetic Boosters, he can clear gaps that would leave other operatives hanging. Use this to your advantage, whether it's Rush-ing to a key moment nobody else could reach to change the tide of time in your favour, dodging a trap that others couldn’t bypass, or more – whatever strategy you use, just don’t forget to keep your wit as quick as his gunfire.

Not only can Rush be used for early advantages and late-game nabs, he can also work great as support for your own team. Did you fail to complete an objective or not do enough damage during a loop?  Or perhaps an enemy operative has snagged a target before you could? With Rush, you can fix that. Zipping into the fray as your own backup can get you those last few points to cinch the match.
These strategies only scratch the surface of what is possible, as there are so many ways to take advantage of the agility offered to you by Quentin Anderson, a.k.a. Rush. What do you think of him and his abilities? Will you deploy him early in order to get a lead on your opponent, or save him for the final round? We’re sure you’re already thinking of ways to best deploy him, so let us know some of your ideas in the comments!
