December 2024

Greetings, comrades.

As the year draws to a close, here’s a quick rundown. Before you tune out, let me present the agenda—maybe one of the topics will catch your interest, and you can jump straight to it:

1. **Priest Simulator**
2. **Mercyful Flames**
3. **Taxi Simulator**
4. **Your Principal**

Priest Simulator

Our most recognized franchise so far is keeping us busy:

The **Vampire Show** has left Early Access. However, we’ve already received feedback about some messed-up lipsync and issues with the final raid not registering correctly. We’ve fixed the first problem, and we’re working on the second. A patch is on its way.

We’ve released *Her Ghost*, a DLC for *Vampire Show*, offering about an hour of new gameplay. Some of you may remember that we declared the game finished months ago, but for various reasons, the launch was delayed. Sure, any game can be endlessly improved, so we added a few more cards to the Trello board. Plus, we wanted to experiment with creating DLC, so we decided to add new content roughly on the scale of *Heavy Duty*. Big thanks to everyone who purchased it.

We also made the soundtrack available some time ago. You can listen to it on Spotify or YouTube. The music video for the standout track *Legion* is doing pretty well at festivals:

- Winner: Best Polish Animated Music Video at PL Music Video Awards 2024
- Winner: *Black Horse of Music Videos* at Ars Independent 2024
- Semi-finalist: Azyl Shorts 2024

It was also officially selected for:
Animakom Fest 2024,
Żubroffka 2024 (Music Video category),
Animest 2024,
Splat!FilmFest 2024,
Grand Video Awards 2024 (Music Video category),
Offeliada 2024,
Linoleum 2024.

That’s not all the news from the *Priest* universe. We’ve been working for months on the next installment, *Wolf Moon*. It continues threads from the previous games but takes them in a very different direction. It’s a low-poly action RPG inspired by MOBAs and *Vampire Survivors*. We intended to release the Steam page this year, but it’s not yet up to our standards.

Mercyful Flames

We’ve really gone all out on this one. Last year, we made the tough decision to rework the game completely—a decision that was challenging but ultimately necessary. The original concept of a card-based RPG might resurface in a future project, but not here. *Mercyful Flames* always had great atmosphere but struggled with the transition of our physical designs into a digital format.

This time, we went all in, inspired by a friend’s comment: “I’d buy a *Priest* game that’s just cutscenes.” While it’s an oversimplification, it nudged us toward creating a minimalist, gameplay-light experience.

The game is going through what feels like its hundredth iteration. I admit I’ve gone a bit obsessive, tweaking every little detail. We keep adding minor dialogues or effects to enhance the illusion of a living world. The game is divided into dozens of “scenes,” and polishing one often makes others look subpar in comparison. At that point, we have to even things out, one way or another.

As with *Vulgator*, we’ve collaborated with acclaimed Polish artists. This time, we worked with *Alembik*, a duo comprising Robert and Michał. You might know Michał from *Owls Woods Graves*, *Over the Voids*, and *Mgła* (live). They composed the soundtrack, which will also be available as a standalone album on streaming platforms.

Taxi Simulator

Now for our biggest project. We’ve been dedicating our lives to this one and regularly post devlogs about its progress. The game has a completely different vibe from anything we’ve done before—less experimental, more craftsmanship. This time, the title isn’t some ironic twist; it’s exactly what it says.

**Your Principal** is temporarily on hold by mutual agreement with the publisher. We’ll return to it next year.

Apart from these titles, we’re also working on a port—or rather, a remaster—of a certain hit, but we’re not revealing any details yet.

By the way, you might have read rumors that we’re quitting game development to start selling weapons. Some reliable Polish media outlets got their facts and companies mixed up. I won’t bother denying it because it works in our favor.

And deliver us from Early Access

We've thanked you a few times already, but there's no such thing as too many thank-yous. So here it is again: thank you for being part of, let’s not kid ourselves, the most important adventure of our professional lives. It’s still a bit too early for a proper postmortem where we could dive into all the highs and lows, but that moment will definitely come. We've been working on this project for... I don’t even know how long anymore, probably around six years, and honestly, it might be Priest that influenced us more than we influenced Priest.

It’s been amazing that so many of you played and reviewed the game, streamed it, created art, did cosplays, listened to Gruzja, had fun with us on social media, and that I got to meet so many of you in person—especially at concerts. Asmodev is still here because of you ready to work on new projects. Life is sad and meaningless, and yet you still managed to smile. Bravo to you, you freaks.
Her Ghost DLC
Free is the best price but unfortunately we have to live (promise, it won't last long), so it's just cheap. Her Ghost is an add-on containing a quest that continues the events of Vampire Show. Kinda funny, seriously cringe, one of a kind. That is, it's one of a kind in the same way as Heavy Duty and Vampire Show, which makes it one-third of a kind.

In addition to the changes listed above, we decided not to include (in the list, not patch) over 1,000 fixes and tweaks because, honestly, nobody would read through them all. We're talking about thrilling stuff like fixing typos, tweaking voice-over sounds, and zapping micro-bugs that would make even the most devout patch note reader lose faith. Yes, we could have listed every corrected “i before e” and every adjustment to the subtle hum of NPC whispers but we figured you’d rather enjoy the game than scroll through a list longer than the Book of Psalms. You're welcome.

If something doesn't sit well with you, feel free to file a complaint—preferably right under this post. We're leaving Early Access, but we're always (un)happy to fix what needs fixing.

To Be Kind

Hot thanks for the kind words about us leaving early access. Shoutout to everyone who sent messages of encouragement regarding our supposed burnout. Just to clarify: the fact that we’re done working on something doesn’t automatically mean we’re having a crisis. It simply means we don’t feel like working on Priest Simulator: Vampire Show anymore—because seriously, how much can you do? Six years on this game is enough, and at some point, you’ve gotta call it.

That said, it absolutely doesn’t mean we’re giving players the finger or abandoning the project. Priest is leaving EA, which means we don’t see a point in further development—it’s done, plain and simple. The game is complete, and that’s that. Those who’ve played know we launched into early access with a solid product, and if you’re unsure, just check the reviews. During early access, we fixed and added a ton of content, and in December, we’re rolling out another patch stuffed with fixes. (Big no-love to the smartasses who keep ignoring this part in our updates, know jack-all about the game, but love flapping their gums online.)

To those who bought the game and stuck with us patiently: sending kisses your way again for all the love during this wild journey. May your sense of dark humor never falter—as in heaven, so on earth, and yes, even under the map. Amen.

Anyway, if something still ends up borked, hit us up. Just remember: if it’s good, then it’s good enough.

The End

We regret to inform you that we’re wrapping up early access on December 5th. Honestly, we’re done working on this game and are focusing on the next ones. On that day, we’ll release a patch with a bag full of fixed bugs. Please, don’t report any more issues – the game doesn’t have to be perfect. Let’s not be perfectionists. Instead, focus on being a good person, smiling, enjoying the little things, taking care of those who need help, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, etc. That’s what matters. Not whether sometimes the car falls through the map or there’s a typo somewhere. Who cares? Let it be.

Alongside the EA exit, we’re also dropping a small DLC titled Her Ghost (add it to your wishlist). It’s not some chunk of the main game we cut out and hid behind a paywall. We just made some extra content, available after finishing the main storyline. Think of it as supporter content – like buying us a beer or coffee (and actually getting a beer or coffee).

Oh, and the usual request: please leave reviews and comments before the mob of weirdos with red lamentations comes in, outraged that we dare charge a dollar for a DLC that we worked on.

Yours truly,
Fr. Orlok
