Patch 1.7.5 - A Balancing Act

We recently pushed patch 1.7.5 live on all platforms. This patch is small in size, but we hope it proves to bring a big shift in how the game is played.

Patch 1.7.5 brings a new item and a shift to item spawns. This new item is the Throwable Syringe. We have received requests for a ranged weapon for Personoids for a very long time, but have struggled to find a safe and balanced way to implement it. We're hoping this is the correct solution, but we will be keeping a close eye on feedback to make sure.

Visually, the Throwable Syringe appears the same as a regular syringe. However, Throwable Syringes spawn randomly and not in Syringe Stands. When thrown at a healthy Resident, the Throwable Syringe will unfortunately cause immediate death so please handle with care. It is also not currently blocked by SIIC Shields, as the Shield Deployment System does not detect impacts from projectiles.

You can see the full patch notes below.

NEW FEATURE: Throwable Syringe
Personoids needed a well deserved buff so we added in this randomly spawning item that requires skill to execute, but used well it can certainly balance things out to your side.

  • Shuffled the keycard spawns around
  • Removed the Feedback/Accolade system as it is becoming deprecated
  • Removed Roadmap from main menu: The roadmap was not currently providing any extra information, so it is being removed to help minimize confusion
  • Removed Leaderboards from main menu: The leaderboards were causing many errors that we have been unable to resolve, so we have removed them as a last resort. Progress is still tracked but display will not currently be available.
  • Added in some custom outfits for some awesome people

Update 21 - The X-Ray Scanner

The time is now! The X-Ray scanner is out there for you to use however you see fit. This new mechanic is meant to be a double-edged blade.

If you haven't already seen our post that explains how the X-Ray Scanner works, you can check it out here. Keep reading for the full patch notes for this update!

NEW FEATURE: Public X-Ray Scanner
Placed in the mall, ski resort and restaurant - the public x-ray scanner allows the residents/or Personoids to scan players, but beware that it requires a skill check that might lead to the instantaneous albeit unfortunate demise of the player in the X-ray scanner.
The X-ray scanner is a one time use and you should therefore be extra careful who you decide to have controlling the machinery.
The machine works by reporting if there is any Personoid present inside the machine after a completed skill check. It will report an error if someone fails the skill check and it will report empty if someone uses it with no one in it.

  • Made all skill checks a little harder on gamepads in order to buff personoids a little bit - we will continue to do so over the next little while..
  • Increased the radius of the rum soaked cake so it is more useful as an AOE weapon when thrown on fire.

  • Disabled Personoid text chat if the Hidden Personoid custom game parameter is active.
  • Removed deception points given to Personoids when playing with the Hidden Personoid game mode activated.
  • Fixed some holes in the walls in the Casino.
  • Fixed a flying attachment on the ambulance vruumba.
  • Fixed various translation errors.
  • Fixed a problem where menu sliders were not interacting correctly with controllers.

Update 20 - Personal Defense

We're sorry for the delay, but it's finally time to gear up and go have some fun!

SIIC has just stocked the ship up with what was originally going to be dubbed the "Passenger Shield". Initially designed to protect Residents who had a few too many when they inevitably fell over, the helmets seem to stop preventing fall injuries when CAIN goes rogue. Maybe you'll be able to find a use for them?

SIIC has also been working to expand on the options available for your custom cruises! We've brought the Technical team in this time, and with their help we've got two new offerings.

First up is "Anonymous Personoids". This cruise option will stop CAIN from communicating with Personoids to let them know who else is a Personoid. The goal of this offering is to help you feel like you've got more Residents alongside you on your journey, and feel less out of place while partying with a Personoid!

On top of that, the Technical Team has figured out a maintenance routine that has completely reduced the chance of any catastrophic events happening onboard. This is an extensive maintenance routine, though, so we're only offering this for Custom Experiences at this time!

We hope you enjoy these updates, and look forward to the ones we have planned in the future. As always, make sure you stay connected by joining our Discord. We love to hear your feedback and we're always keeping an eye out for any bugs you find, so make sure to post those in the right channels in Discord or share them with us on our feedback and bug report site!

- The Invisible Walls Team

  • NEW FEATURE: Personal Defense Helmet
Block and knockback one attempt to be syringed by a Personoid.
  • Custom Game Parameter: Hidden Personoids
With this parameter Personoids no longer know who is on their side.
  • Custom Game Parameter: No catastrophe events
With this parameter activated you completely remove the random catastrophe event from appearing.

  • When using the "Hidden Personoids" setting in custom games, Personoids are able to use text chat to reveal themselves to the other Personoids. This is planned to be fixed in a following patch.
