WIP: 1.0.0 Weapon Attachment System In Depth

[p][/p][p]The weapons attachment system is finally here in version 1.0.0. As promised last week, we will be giving a whole set of explanations on what it covers, how it works, and the changes that we'll be making with the Bullet Launchers attachment system that we'll integrate into the weapons attachment system. Without further ado, here is the weapons attachment system.[/p][p][/p][p]You can now attach your Close Combat weapons, Shields, Bullet Shooters, Energy Shooters, and Bullet Launchers onto certain parts of the M.A.S.S. unit. The only weapon that won't be able to attach to your units are Energy Launchers, as they behave differently from the rest.[/p][p][/p][p]In regard to Close Combat weapons, Shields, Bullet Shooters, and Energy Shooters, you will be able to choose a style of attachment. "Hide" means that it won't be attached anywhere just like what the game always had been. Dual means the weapon will be attached on both sides of the attachment point, regardless of the weapons config. A single blade can be shown as attached in dual of your unit itself. Left and Right side only means it will show up only on one side of your unit per your choice. Take note, this does not change your weapons. Making a shooter "Dual" does not make your shooters actually dual-wielded, it's just decorations and separated.[/p][p][/p][p]You will first choose a slot on where to attach. We've expanded the slot choices from the Bullet Launchers into more places. Before now, you were only able to attach onto Shoulders, Body, Backpack, Hip, and Lower Legs. With 1.0.0, we've added Upper Arms, Lower Arms, Back Waist, Upper Legs, and Feet into the choices for attachment. [/p][p][/p][p]And as always, you will be able to offset each piece's placement. Even if it's attached onto certain parts, with the offset system, you can make it float a bit away from your unit or move it around to make it seems you're attaching it to a different part. You can also align it with other attached pieces to make your attachments appear in a more orderly fashion.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We are also making an adjustment to the limits of the system here as well. The scale and rotation offset limits have been increased by a large margin. Rotation offset now ranges from -180 to 180 and Scaling offset now ranges from 20 to 180. You should now be able to recreate really big or small weapons attachment. However, they will still appear in their normal sizes when being used.[/p][p][/p][p]And to make things more dynamic, the attachments will check if your weapon is in use or not. If you are using the weapons that are attached to parts of your units, the attachments will be hidden, as if you're taking out the weapons from your attached area to be used. However, there is an exception in that you can use "unequipped" weapons to decorate your M.A.S.S. as they will never be in used thus, they'll never be hidden in mission.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That will be all for the weapons attachment system! We hope you like what you're seeing here. We also hope you will start planning your builds as the update will be approaching soon in September![/p][p][/p][p]Discord: http://discord.gg/quS7E46 [/p]
