The Immortal Update - 4th Patch Released

We've just rolled out the FOURTH update for the Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition Immortal Update Beta! If you missed the original announcement for the beta, you can find out all about it here.

Please note that if you're still playing on the default branch, none of the changes below will effect your game.

Also, if you're playing the Beta version of the game, our awesome community are currently organising a beta tournament which you can sign up for right now (and sign ups close in only a few hours!) You can find the sign up form here.

  • Added button in multiple card selection to allow players to view the map
  • Added move confirmation dialog for Dracula when moving to a lair
[h2]Changed[/h2]
  • Viewing information no longer gets interrupted when another player performs an action which uses the same dialog (E.G. viewing a discard pile when another player supplies)
  • Can now select the same card as before when using planned ambush
  • "Waiting for..." prompts no longer appear in the following situations:
  • Choosing an event card gained from Immanuel Hildesheim's ally effect to play immediately
  • Choosing an event card to play at the end of the Dracula phase
  • Choosing an item card to play before searching a hideout
  • Obscured "Waiting for..." prompt in the following situations:
  • Choosing a card to play before being ambushed
  • Choosing a card to play before combat starts
  • Choosing an event card to play at Dawn or Dusk
  • Updated psychic bond dialog options to be more clear to the player

First up, we've got a single change that affects a beta-specific issue:

  • Fixed revealed icon on lairs not appearing for Dracula when a hunter is selected
And below is a list of all the changes in this update that are brand-new to this version of the Immortal Update:

  • Added toggle in the settings menu to reduce figurine size to improve visibility of the map around them
  • Added Dracula/vampire location name to combat info dialog

  • Spectators being present in the lobby before starting a match no longer prevents the match from starting

  • Fixed Fangs heal not updating the vampire's health text at the correct time
  • Fixed Dogs triggering when another hunter in the same city is ambushed by Rats, Saboteur, Spy or Wolves

First up, these are changes and fixes that only effect things that were already in the beta:

  • The Rumour Token Influence house rule now resets to the default 3 when Rumour Tokens are toggled on
  • Reduced number of discard dialogs while reserving ticket tokens
  • Spectators can now use the map toggle button during combat
[h2]Fixed[/h2]
  • Fixed AI hunters always discarding their newly acquired rail tickets
  • Fixed Escape as Bat not properly re-adding power cards to the deck when clearing the hideout
Alongside those changes and fixes, we've again implemented a whole heap of brand-new things into this version of the beta too. Check out the full list below:

  • Added visibility token to lair dialog so Dracula knows which lairs have been discovered by hunters

  • Updated night supply prompt to be more clear on the risk for hunters
  • Hunter players who control multiple hunters now only have one mute button next to their first character
  • Reduced likelihood that AI Dracula moves to a location in which he cannot legally move out of
  • Encounter card source hideout is now displayed if Hide is involved when choosing the order to ambush/search
  • A hunter affected by bats on Cagliari now simply becomes delayed when they would take their next action rather than being affected by bats until they are able to move by road

  • Fixed progression block when a hunter becomes impaired by bats at night and Renewed Vigor is played the next dawn
  • Fixed Escape Route choices including hunters which declined to be in the combat with New Vampire
  • Fixed Dracula not being correctly revealed when using Wolf Form to move to a revealed Lair
  • Fixed defeated hunters being able to play event cards at dawn or dusk

FIrst of all, the entire team here at Nomad Games want to say a massive thank you for all the positive feedback, kind words and enthusiasm you've shown for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition since we launched The Immortal Update Beta. If you missed the announcement for the beta, you can find out all about it here.

Our team have just rolled out an update exclusively for the Immortal Beta - so please note that if you're still playing on the default branch, none of the changes below will effect your game.

First up, these are changes and fixes that only effect things that were already in the beta:

  • Mature or Lair choice dialog no longer automatically highlights the mature option
  • Mature or Lair choice dialog now informs the player explicitly that the hideout has no encounter cards

  • Fixed Dark Call House Rule description error
  • Fixed combats during the Dracula phase being considered daytime by combat cards (E.G. Claws)
  • Fixed being unable to move to a location that just fell off of the trail
  • Fixed not passing control to the correct character after Dracula moves a hunter
  • Fixed Escape as Bat clearing the first 2 spaces of the trail when the slide trail house rule is enabled
  • Fixed Heroic Leap and Escape Route resolving before Dracula can cancel the combat using a Fog Token
  • Fixed using the Planned Ambush effect combined with Dracula selecting their combat card before the hunter on round 2 stopping game progression
  • Fixed online house rules dialog incorrectly showing rumour tokens as disabled when they are enabled
  • Fix maturing a vampire to cause a Dracula victory with the slide trail house rule enabled causing a progression blocker
  • Fix online game progression blocker when Dracula chooses to mature a hideout with the Lair advanced rule enabled
Alongside those changes and fixes, we've implemented a whole heap of brand-new things into this version of the beta too. Check out the full list below:[h2]Added[/h2]
  • Added text indicating how many cards need to be selected in multiple situations (E.G. discarding after using the Supply action)
  • Added a prompt to inform players that Dracula is choosing whether or not to cancel a combat using a Fog token
  • Added more context information when placing an encounter card on a hideout

  • Button text when making card choices now updates to better reflect what the player will do rather than always saying "Submit"
  • Hunters can discard rail tickets after collecting new tickets
  • Wolf Form now allows Dracula to select his current city if he is able to play hide rather than a separate prompt to play Hide
  • Dracula is now able to choose any number of encounter cards in a maturing hideout to mature while the rest are discarded
  • Mina Harker's Psychic Bond result stands out more when Dracula is in the same region as Mina Harker

  • Fixed some cases where hunter action buttons appeared for Dracula/Spectators
  • Fixed hunters being able to become delayed to discard Aristocratic Vampire when they are already delayed
  • Fixed cards on the trail sometimes remaining visually after they have been removed
  • Fixed incorrect opacity for the road between Rome and Naples
  • Fixed cards in discard piles sometimes appearing too large
  • Fixed faceup event cards from the event deck obtained by Dracula through Hoax's mature effect remaining faceup in Dracula's hand
  • Fixed defeated hunters being able to reveal Heavenly Host during Consecrated Ground
  • Fixed Sense of Emergency not triggering Wild Horses

Join the beta for the Immortal Update

It's been quite a while since we've chatted, and we're very pleased to announce we're rolling out an update for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition! We've just rolled out a new public beta for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition, giving you access to the 'Immortal' 5.0 patch for the game.

To join the beta, select Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition in your Steam library, choosing 'Properties' and then navigating to the beta menu! From there, you can opt-in to the open beta.



IMPORTANT NOTE
  • Any local saves from the non-beta version won't support these new features/changes
  • You'll only be able to play online against other players who are also on the Immortal Update beta

Because there are so many changes, updates and fixes in The Immortal Update, we're rolling this update out first as a beta. We're fully expecting there to be some bugs and issues that we haven't picked up on during our internal testing (due to the sheer number of changes we've included) so if you notice any bugs or issues in the beta version, please post them either on the Steam forums, or in the #bug-reporting channel on our official Discord!

Our team will then be able to take that list and work on polishing up this patch to roll out to the entire community.

Below is a full list of all the changes included in this beta version of the game:

  • Added vampire encounter card health to the trail and on the cards themselves
  • Added a Discord icon to the main menu that links to the Nomad Games Discord page
  • Added a house rule for Dracula to choose a location or power card to place on the trail after sliding the trail
  • Added a house rule where Dark Call draws the top card on the event deck
  • Added a house rule to control how much influence Dracula gains when maturing a vampire hideout with a rumour token
  • Added button in combat UI to allow players that are in combat to view the map

  • Changed Hunter Combat Hand Size info to just display how many item cards the hunter has
  • Dracula can now view discarded facedown encounter cards
  • Dracula now heals before the match ends when normally moving to Castle Dracula
  • Viewing cards revealed by Spy and Consecrated Ground is no longer on a timer
  • All players in online combat now choose their combat cards at the same time rather than one after another
  • Card reveal dialog now includes targeted hunters name in title
  • Updated ok dialog when no card can be revealed to include hunter name in the title
  • Dracula markers can now be removed by placing a marker on a location which already has a marker
  • Selecting coastal cities during Excellent Weather improved
  • Mature or lair prompt added to replace the confusing yes or no prompt
  • Chat button is now available while the player is in most dialogs/prompts
  • Text in chatbox doesn't get all selected upon reopening the chat
  • When selecting event or discarding cards the multiple select dialog will appear no matter how my cards are available for consistency sake
  • Adjusted zoomed out camera position for better visibility of Cadiz
  • Discard menus selected list is now properly localised
  • The play card button in combat now says "Take Card" during Plotting
  • A single hunter can no longer play multiple Planned Ambushes at once

  • Fixed using sea locations when calculating the distance between the location a hunter was defeated at and the nearest hospital
  • Fixed Dracula drawing initial encounter cards after initial placement rather than before
  • Fixed hunters not discarding rail tickets when moving to a hospital
  • Fixed Dracula not being able to play the Feed power card while at full health
  • Fixed Dracula being revealed when on a City where the only present hunters are in a hospital
  • Fixed Wolves mature effect not being able to target hunters in the same city as Wolves
  • Fixed Spy affecting multiple hunters
  • Fixed Szgany Bodyguards affecting multiple hunters
  • Fixed a freeze that occurred when selecting a card too quickly when in combat
  • Fixed double chat icon appearing in online combat while in the 'waiting for...' prompt
  • Fixed hunters remaining delayed and/or impaired by bats when being defeated
  • Fixed delayed hunters being able to join another hunter's combat with a New Vampire
  • Fixed Behind the Veil not revealing the discarded encounter card
  • Fixed Szgany Bodyguards mature effect resolving before hunters can use event cards to cancel the combat
  • Fixed not resolving all Szgany Bodyguard mature effects when there are multiple Szgany Bodyguards in play
  • Fixed not updating the interactive guide when using the in-game settings toggle
  • Fixed Dark Call, Feed, Wolf Form and Misdirect not being readable on the trail to hunters
  • Fixed online "replace with AI" dialog remaining open after the player rejoins
  • Fixed Chartered Carriage using a special action rather than a movement action
  • Fixed Wax Cylinders text not mentioning that it is used as an action
  • Fixed Fast Horses not triggering Wild Horses
  • Fixed Rumor Tokens being lost upon converting a hideout into a lair
  • Fixed Dracula being unable to move using Escape as Bat when all adjacent cities are on the trail
  • Fixed Dracula being unable to move using Wolf Form at sea when all adjacent ports are on the trail
  • Fixed Forewarned triggering when a another hunter in the same city is ambushed by an encounter which affects multiple hunters
  • Fixed character seals on the left of the main screen not updating which character is highlighted if the player is viewing a non-highlighted character
  • Fixed character portrait in the bottom left of the main screen sometimes getting stuck during its rotation animation in online games
  • Fixed advanced rules display in the pause menu not correctly showing when free placement is enabled
  • Fixed using False Tip during the first action of Renewed Vigor skipping the hunter's second action
