v.0.93.6 Update Patch Notes

Dear Operators,

The newest patch is finally dropped! This update focuses on optimizing your overall immersive experience, balancing weapons, introducing exciting new features, and fixing those annoying bugs.

Your feedback and suggestions have been heard! After the announcement of our July patch preview, many players have expressed concern that the aim assist will hinder or break the immersion of Contractors. In the update, we have removed the soft lock aim assist and kept the stabilization.

What’s more, we decided to add as many new prototype features we have been working on, such as sprint animation, so everyone can experience a fresh gaming experience.

While working on Contractors Showdown, we are rebuilding the whole development process and code strings to avoid legacy flaws and refreshing some outdated features to refresh the game's experience.

With experience optimization, weapon balancing, new features, and bug fixes on the horizon, we are confident that this game update will be a solid patch on the way to v.1.0 of Contractors.

[h3]Immersion Upgrade[/h3]
We have dedicated our efforts to optimizing various aspects of the visual, ensuring fully upgraded sprinting animations, improved slide performance, and reduced movement lags. Get ready to immerse yourself in a new Contractors fight!


[h3]High Scopes Remake[/h3]
Due to the wild shaking and magnification, most scopes are rarely picked, and some of the reticles and patterns are even incorrect. The magnifying logic has been completely reworked, new patterns have been added to different scopes, and the high scopes have been made more stable.



[h3]Weapon Balancing[/h3]
Maintaining a fair and competitive environment is crucial to us. In response to community feedback, we have gathered the weapon statistics and made necessary adjustments to ensure the overall weapon choices are more balanced. The orientation is to generally buff weapons, and optimize cumbersome interactions, such as awkward scope positions, annoying pistol wobblies, and terrible shotgun shot spreads. It’s time to pick up some weapons that you may have forgotten.

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
Occasionally encountering some bizarre bugs during play can be frustrating. Since some long-reported bugs were difficult to fix due to legacy flaws, our team reconstructed the old structure in order to address the community's reported issues. Several game-breaking bugs that have been affecting your gameplay will be fixed with this update.

  • Significantly reduced the recoil of all pistols.
  • Reduced the shot spread of all shotguns by 20%.
  • Increased the shotgun damage across the board. Damage at 10 meters has been increased by 20%, 10-20 meters increased by 25%, and 20-30 meters increased by 50%.
  • Reduced the horizontal recoil of AKM/AK74/FAL/AUG/FAMAS by 50%.
  • Reduced the vertical recoil of FAL by 15%
  • Reduced the horizontal recoil of MP7 and MP5A3 by 30%.
  • Increased the muzzle recovery speed of Deagle and Magnum by 40%
  • Decreased the base damage of CZ805 from 31 to 29.
  • Tactical reload moves now can be performed with SVD/QBZ 95/As VAL/FAL.
  • Magazine release now can be performed with MP7.
  • Optimized the reload experience of P90/Vector/Magnum.
  • Optimized the tactical reload experience.
  • Optimized firing selector position for various weapons.
  • Optimized the scope position of SKS/ASVAL/Magnum.

We are honored to announce our new title, Contractors Showdown.

Contractors Showdown is a competitive PVP shooter game set in the Contractors universe.

To seize the ground control private corporations dispatch specialized operators to uncover the groundbreaking secret by any means necessary. A large number of anonymous operators hired by large corporations, equipped with advanced equipment, have been deployed to the desolate island that was previously classified. Dropped onto treacherous land, operators have transformed the abandoned base into an arena.
Explore the uninhabited, rugged land that has remained ungoverned for decades. Survive, loot, upgrade, engage, and use your tactics against relentless enemies and dangers on the desolate island. Enter the combat solo or engage with allies to fight against all odds as a team.
Survival requires teamwork, adaptability, and skill to dominate. Experience the dynamic battlefield and intense firefights. There are NO RULES beyond victory on this lawless island.

Q: What platforms will the game launch on?
A: We plan to bring the game to multiple platforms just as Contractors did. Since the game is still in development, we'll keep all our players informed of the latest progress.

Q: What distinguishes Contractors Showdown from Contractors?
A: Contractors Showdown features the fastest, most intense, and most tactical experience since our previous game, to lead an exhilarating fight across the dynamic battlefield and rugged terrain with boundless gameplay. In creating the advanced battle-royale experience, we created a 4km x 4km large map and added massive new features such as tactical PDA, call-in support, weapon customization, gear upgrades, damage indicators, etc. Furthermore, some long-requested features such as progression, matchmaking, and daily quests, will also be included. Our goal is to create an even more thrilling and engaging experience than what everyone experienced in Contractors!

Q: Will Contractors Showdown allow mods?
A: No at the first time of its release. Adding mods to Contractors Showdown is a complex task. We will listen to the modders and collect as many opinions as we can, and decide if the mod will be added after we have finished and released the base game.

Q: Does Contractors Showdown support crossplay?
A: Yes. Crossplay is a feature that we always prioritize.

Q: What's the future of Contractors?
A: We will continuously update Contractors to version 1.0 as promised. We understand that everyone may feel worried about Contractors. As previously mentioned in the above question, we have refined many of the shabby mechanics from Contractors, and added many new features for Contractors Showdown, some of these can be integrated into Contractors in future updates as well. A new quality-of-life patch will be released in July to address some of the glitches and optimize some features.
