Root Patch 1.32—A Fresh Start!



The Marauder Expansion is now available on Steam, with mobile platforms coming soon! Additionally, we have a lot of fixes for gameplay, UI improvements, and pesky bugs.

The Marauder Expansion has arrived on Steam!
  • Two New factions challenge your woodland rule!
    • Lord of the Hundreds – Oppress the Woodland and burn it to the ground if need be. You suffer no dissent.
    • Keepers in Iron – Lead your exiled order of devout knights into battle to recover ancient relics. For glory!
  • New Challenges!
    • Six new challenges with both Normal and Heroic modes test your strategic wiles!
  • New Achievements!
    • Eight new achievements push you to conquer the Woodland as never before!

[h3]UX[/h3]
  • The Card icon should now appear on bases inside the Woodland Alliance player info view.
  • Victory Points should now display black text when Sway is prompted.
  • Improved placement of hinting arrows in tutorial for all zoom levels
  • Icons should now display properly until a faction is selected during Advanced Set-up.
  • Improved visibility of selection highlights on map elements while in strategic view
  • Vagabonds shouldn’t overlap on Lake Map when in the same forest.
  • Warriors should no longer clip into each other on the battlefield with higher warrior counts.
  • Improvements on flag visibility in Mountain Map.
  • Clearing Suit and Rule Flag hints should now be better aligned.
  • Undoing crafting should no longer cause flickering.
  • Winter Map forest and clearing highlights should now have the same opacity.
  • Riverfolk Cards should now animate to the hand of their new owners when purchased via services.
  • Vagabond Circle should now be smaller and not appear when walking through a cleared path on the Mountain Map.
  • Highlights should now appear when targeting a Garden in Strategic View.
  • Widescreen monitors display for 32:9 ratio is now supported.
  • Cards should no longer overlap when mousing over.
  • Player should now be able to select Mountain Paths on Gamepad during Pass & Play.
  • Minimize button for Vagabond Selection should now be closer to the Maximize button.
  • Vagabond should now appear on the Turn Order info page.
  • Forests should now highlight yellow when selected via gamepad on the Mountain Map.
  • Opponent-facing text should now be correctly localized.
  • Loading icon should now remain visible when Skipping Replay.

[h3]Corvid[/h3]
  • Corvid Plots should no longer overlap sympathy/revolt cost.
  • Corvid daylight actions should now be able to be selected via gamepad.
  • Corvid Death should now have a sound when a Corvid warrior dies.

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • Various text corrections and fixes to Challenges.
  • Various fixes to prompts under Available Quests.
  • Cancelling out of Convert Ability should no longer cause an infinite loop.

Root Patch 1.31.3—Fast-Forward to Fun!



With this patch, we’re ramping things up in more ways than one, introducing the Skip Replay option– designed to get you back into the action faster than before. In addition to this new feature, we have a ton of new improvements, backend fixes, and bug fixes.
New Feature
  • Skip Replay Button: Players rejoining an async game can now skip replays of the match. Additionally, players can now skip replays when rejoining a match after losing connection.
[h2]Bug Fixes [/h2]
  • Action Log:
    • Players should now be able hover over cards in the action log to check out the details.
    • The action log should now show the correct amount of Warriors placed on Coffin makers when spending Supply as Riverfolk.
  • Advanced Setup:
    • Vagabond Warrior should now start on the board.
    • When setting up as the Eyrie on the Winter map, upper left clearing should now be available as a starting option.
    • Eyrie Dynasty Leader should now be found when one is expected.
  • AI:
    • AI should now be able to successfully take over for resigned players.
  • Art/Display:
    • Settings, Action Log, Expand, Minimize, and Supply tooltips should now have consistent font sizes.
    • The Action Log tile should now stay in place on the screen when the window is open.
    • Eyrie’s Roosts should now animate into the match when reloading a match.
    • Chinese Characters should now display larger.
  • Audio:
    • The Timer sound effects should now be dismissed along with the timer.
  • Expansions:
    • Starting the app offline should no longer prevent players from accessing purchased Expansion content.
  • Gamepad:
    • Gamepad supports Skip Replay with a button press.
    • Total Domination Challenge should now prevent faction changes.
    • XBOX Button should now display when using Steam Deck or with a gamepad on Steam.
  • Gameplay:
    • Various stability improvements and localization fixes.
    • The Undo button should no longer appear unless the player can undo an action.
    • Destroying an Automated Alliance Sympathy should win the game or at least tie the players.
    • Spread Sympathy for No Such Clearings should now be in the adjacent space with the fewest enemy pieces.
    • Spread Sympathy should now be skipped if all 10 Sympathy tokens are on the playmat.
    • Deployed Warriors and Warriors in Reserve should now always equal 25, and display total number of warriors on the playmat correctly.
    • The Mayor should now be “Exhausted” after redoing his move.
    • Enemy Warriors should now return to the original clearing after Undoing the Convert action.
    • When using Propaganda Bureau in a clearing with a Keep or Corvid Snare token, undoing the action should now return the Opponent’s warrior without removing the other player’s warrior.
    • Players should now see AI faction setup correctly in Live Games.
    • Field Hospital prompt should now display the correct number of Warriors.
    • Players should now be able to enlist the Arbiter’s help after Ambush ends.
    • Players should now be able to use Mayor on a Minister.
    • Placing a Trading post and undoing it when there are no Warriors in Reserve should resolve correctly.
    • Using Mercenaries damaged by Vagabond should now cause hostile status to Vagabond, not Riverfolk.
    • Players should now have the option to use Exposure after using Improvements.
    • Players should be able to use False Orders at any point.
    • Propaganda Bureau should no longer remove Warrior when undoing the action.
    • Crafting Master Engravers should no longer be able to be undone.
    • Tax Collector should be activated during Charismatic Leader’s recruit ability to prevent turmoil.
    • Undoing an Eyrie Leader selection should not leave a player without a leader when starting a turn.
    • Riverfolk services should now remain accessible when undoing an Eyrie Emigre action.
    • All players should now be able to see the number of warriors on Coffin Makers.
    • Players should now be able to properly select a destination clearing when using False Orders on Warriors in the pass clearing (Mountain Map) and bottom clearing (Lake Map).
    • Placing a Trading post and undoing it when there are no Warriors in Reserve acts correctly
    • Players should now be correctly removed from Live Lobbies when they close the client.
    • Players experiencing Online Play access issues should now see the correct error message.
    • Players should no longer receive “Your Turn” notifications if they’ve been resigned due to timing out or other reasons.
    • Undoing or redoing moves with the Mayor no longer refreshes the Mayor’s ability, preventing unlimited moves. Instead the Mayor should now be correctly exhausted.

Bug Fixes & Improvements
  • When a Vagabond receives an exhausted third bag, it now refreshes as expected and increases the Vagabond’s carrying capacity
  • Users can no longer undo using Scorched Earth, Strike, or Revolt when doing so destroyed a face down Raid token
  • Fixed issue where users could not sync DLC purchased with other devices

Root Patch 1.31—Coffin Makers Among the Riverfolk

[h2]Improvements[/h2]
  • Start of Birdsong ability resolution order has been reworked to preserve more strategic options, i.g Using Saboteurs to remove an enemy Coffin Makers before it triggers, getting warriors back in supply from Coffin Makers, and spending that on Riverfolk Services.
  • An additional window has been added to resolve Field Hospitals at the start of players’ turn that owns Coffin Makers. 
  • The camera now remembers your last zoom level when returning to a game, including whether you were in strategic view or not.
  • Users are now able to send feedback without being logged in.
  • Improved the accuracy of a number of tooltips, including 


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed a crash trigger that could occur when specific combinations of factions were in a game with Coffin Makers crafted. 
  • Removed various loc strings that, albeit rare, could sneak into the game

Root Patch 1.30.5—Clearing the Forest



Critters, gather 'round—

Today's patch, 1.30.5, contains a variety of bug fixes with a focus on removing exploits caused by the Undo Ability.

Undo Ability Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where undoing Vagabond strike wouldn’t return the warrior it had removed to play
  • Undoing the crafting action as Riverfolk will now return the correct warriors
  • Fixed an issue where players would still have access to the abilities of Eyrie Emigre after undoing crafting it
  • Undoing placement of Roost at start of turn will no longer allow extra cards to be played to the Eyrie decree


Other Bug Fixes
  • Vagrant Vagabond can no longer choose casualties for opponents in battles it didn’t instigate 
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when using Advanced Setup if AI selected Marquise as their faction
  • The number of items in a Ruin displays correctly in games with two Vagabond characters 
  • Fixed an issue where factions could choose illegal clearings for their starting pieces on the Mountain and Lake maps
  • The wrong faction's warriors will no longer be highlighted when using False Orders
  • Improved building highlights when playing in strategic view
  • Fixed an issue where Marquise could softlock while placing homeland clearings with Advanced Setup
  • Players can now view sway rules reminder tooltip on Switch
