The Marauder Expansion Patch 1.32.3



We have a feisty little patch for you all today, including bug fixes and new UX that allows Keepers players to pick their retinue! (Thanks to Nitrorev for the good suggestion, and keep an eye out for this approach being used for other token selections.)

Bug Fixes

    [h2]Gameplay[/h2]
    • During setup, Keepers automatic relic placement will now place relics in forest as close as legally allowed to their starting Warriors.
    • Fixed an issue where Keepers could get into an invalid state during Advanced Setup.
    • Players should now be able to select another move after canceling Prowess as Hundreds.
    • The Lord of Hundreds should now play a celebration animation for a Victory on the End of Game screen.
    • When moving warriors with False Orders in a clearing with an odd number of Warriors (specifically with the Warlord), the value is now rounded up instead of down.
    • Keepers should now be able to Encamp in clearings with a face-down Corvid snare.
      [h2]UI [/h2]
      • Relics tooltips will now display the info of all relics in their clearing or forest.
      • The Duchy brigadier prompt selection should now only have 1 button displayed with the white outline at a time.
      • Improved spacing and resolved overlap issues on Winter Map.
      • In the Keepers tutorial, instructions should no longer overlap the prompt to add cards to your retinue.
      • The Enable Controller support prompt now appears when players land on the home screen for the first time, rather than at launch while the cinematic plays
      • The X and Y buttons on the gamepad should now be localized properly for different platforms
      • Gamepad settings should now default to top-most / first selection in a menu.
      • Users should now be able to ban factions while playing with Adset and Faction Draft disabled.
      • Fixed an issue where Clockwork bots would get extra buildings and warriors when playing with Adset
      • Placed Waystations should now display a card draw symbol on the player detail page.
      • Improved the clarity of messaging when an ambush is prevented by another ambush.
      • When the player doesn't remove any items with the Lavish mood there should now be an accurate action log entry.
      • The Looting Banner should now be enabled and disabled properly during the Battle.
      • The Tooltip indicating the Draw Rate should now display properly.
      • The Disable Faction draft option should no longer appear when Advanced Setup is turned off.
      • Players using gamepad are now able to tooltip decree icons for more info.
      [h2]Art [/h2]
      • Animation should now be smoother during Vagabot mouse click.

      [h2]Localization[/h2]
      • Russian language should now display accurately on HUD.
      • Spanish prompt header for the first mood choice should no longer covered by art.
      • Chinese Characters should now display properly.
      • Font should now be easier to read for Chinese characters and Japanese characters.
      • Non-English languages should no longer have blank areas.


[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
    The following issues are known to the dev team and will be addressed in future patches!
    [h2]Localization[/h2]
    • German, Czech, Russian, and Japanese translations are currently incomplete for the Marauder DLC.
    • There are currently possible mistranslations in Italian Coffin Makers text and Polish Sway Minister text.
    • Descriptions of Delivery Mission are flipped in non-English languages. (e.g. Normal displays as Heroic, Heroic displays as normal)
    [h2]UI[/h2]
    • The new Keeper retinue selection is not currently enabled with gamepad support.
    • The Time Out clock should be visually synced to server time but is currently appearing too late.
    • Warriors and Tokens overlap in certain placements.
    • Riverfolk Warriors are not removed from Coffin makers when Recruit is undone.
    • Mob Token does not play Death Animation when it is killed.
    • During the Marauder Tutorial, the Retinue modal starts at the top, then moves down so the text does not overlap.
    • Steam notifications are not displaying Root icon.
    [h2]Gameplay[/h2]
    • During gameplay, the Keepers in Iron AI will sometimes leave 4 or more Warriors in a single clearing, leaving them vulnerable to Live off the Land at the end of the turn.
    • If you run into this issue, please send us feedback through the in-game Settings menu!
    • Players cannot currently choose which Waystations are removed during Keepers matches or which
      Waystations are damaged in Battle..
    • In the Egg Collector challenge, when you move into a clearing with an egg and create a Warrior, selecting Undo brings the egg back but does not uncreate the Warrior.
    • Players cannot choose which resource to use when crafting Wild icons.
    • Undoing a revolt when at supply limit removes Warriors previously on the playmat.
    • If a player uses Scorched Earth on a clearing, the Electric Eyrie can still place Warriors in the clearing with Swoop.
    • Players can remove mountain passes adjacent to Scorched Earth clearing while playing Scoundrel.
    • The Eyrie Dynasty AI appears unable to determine that they will enter Turmoil by the end of the turn even without opponent action.
    • Players are unable to play with random factions enabled online while playing Adset with the faction draft turned on.




Marauder Expansion Hotfix 2 and Known Issues



We’ve got another Hotfix headed your way to address bugs reported since The Marauder Expansion Release! A big thank you to all of the players who took the time to report and for playing Root Digital!
Bugs
  • UI
    • Mob Icon should now have a vertical line to the left of the token in the Hundreds Tutorial.
    • Placeholder accounts no longer appear at the bottom of the leaderboard
    • The Devout Knights ability banner will now be positioned correctly during combat when using the Quick Battle setting.
    • During the Marquise tutorial, Rule Flag tip should now be easier to read.
    • In Quick Battle, the Corvid Embedded Agents banner should now appear entirely on-screen.
    • Multiple icons should no longer display for each faction.
    • Players should now be able to minimize the sway prompt and simultaneously open the supply and discard pile.
    • “Hundreds is choosing a Homeland Clearing” text should now display to prompt opponents.

  • Gameplay
    • Controller Support prompt should now appear immediately upon launching the game.
    • Hundreds can no longer recruit to a Warlord in a Keep or Snare clearing.
    • Eyrie AI set to easy and normal difficulty should now be less likely to make decree choices that send it into turmoil.
    • AI should now choose to remove warriors in combat before their own warlord in almost all cases.
    • Bitter Mood should now be selected when a Hundreds player has no warriors in supply.
    • Eyrie Players can no longer select a clearing with a warlord.
    • A Vagabond aiding the Hundreds should no longer be able to get items the Hundreds removed from the game with their Contempt for Trade.
    • Players should now be able to ban a second vagabond in Advanced Setup.

  • Localization
    • German, Czech, Russian, and Japanese translations for expansion content are incomplete. (We are waiting on source files from localization partners, so we are unsure of the ETA on these for the moment.)
  • UI
    The prompt to enable controller support displays before it should, leading to it displaying improperly
    • When many relics are in the same clearing, their values overlap.
    • Relic tokens have inconsistent shapes.
    • Placed Waystations don't display the Card Draw symbol on expanded player info.
    • Ambush blocked by the Scouting Party needs its own label.
  • Gameplay
    • Cancelling a move with Prowess forces the player to battle or not be able to take the action.
    • Additional Relics are currently placed too far from Keeper's starting point.
    • During gameplay, the Keepers in Iron AI will sometimes leave 4 or more Warriors in a single clearing, leaving them vulnerable to Live off the Land at the end of the turn.
    • Players can enable Disable Faction Draft and Random Factions with Advanced Setup not enabled.
    • Players cannot ban factions with Disable Faction Draft enabled.




Killer strategy boardgame Root's new Steam expansion has made me aware that Root exists as a PC game


I have an on-and-off-again relationship with boardgaming based mostly on the fact that I have nobody to play boardgames with. I used to be part of a boardgaming circle, but then I missed a fateful opening round of Twilight Imperium, and then the pandemic started, and then everybody lost patience with Tabletop Game Simulator.

Day One Hotfix



Here’s our Day One hotfix for the Marauder Expansion Steam release. We appreciate all of the feedback, and hope you’re enjoying the new expansion!


Bugs
  • Gamepad
    • Pressing R3 and L3 concurrently will no longer disable camera controls.
    • Controllers should remain usable in games where chat is disabled. Additionally, closing chat will now reenable camera movement.
  • Pass & Play
    • Games should no longer be freezing during Pass & Play mode.
  • Gameplay
    • Spread Sympathy Icon should now appear during Revolt.
    • Lord of the Hundreds should now be prompted to choose which pieces to lose when taking hits during a clearing with both mobs and strongholds.
    • Vagabond Ability hints now correctly display next to the Vagabond they refer to.
    • Paper on Recruiter is now positioned correctly when Recruiter idles.
    • Opponents of Woodland Alliance players can no longer inspect supporter piles.
    • Eyrie can no longer build in a clearing after being ambushed and removing all of their warriors.
    • Cancelling after clearing a build should now return the Command action to the player.
    • Hundreds players should now be able to undo a choice on the Mood Selection prompt.
  • UI
    • Various text improvements in Chinese.
    • Various fixes for Japanese Characters on the Create Game screen.
    • Icons in the second tutorial should now be visible.
    • Hundreds play should now play a minor defeat animation at the end of the game.
    • Tokens from Corvids and Hundreds should no longer overlap and should be better aligned on gamemat.
    • Keepers and Hundreds should now display in the Relationships sections of the gamemat for Vagabond.


Charming tabletop inspired strategy game Root adds two more factions in new DLC

New Root DLC The Marauder Expansion has arrived, bringing another two factions to the digital version of the beloved tabletop strategy game. The Steam release of Root is a fantastic adaptation of the board version, with slick, charming visuals bringing it to life. With the game's asymmetric factions a huge part of the draw, each demanding a unique approach, adding more is a great way to expand the variety of your games, and this latest expansion pack is a fantastic addition to the lineup.
