Haxity gets more competitive with the ‘Total Recall Update’

With ‘Total Recall Update’ we have introduced some of the most demanded features by our loyal fans. These include new options and improvements in existing systems so players can have a smooth and more dynamic experience when fighting online.

Here you have the complete changes:
New features

Cards
• You can see the opponent's cards that have been revealed to you during the current fight. After the fight, this will be revealed until the next fight starts. Cards that were never played will now remain hidden after a fight
  • Hack cards that had exactly the same name as a keyword now have different names
  • Created cards now show which effect created them
User Interface
• Hack log added to the game. You can now see which hacks have been played at what targets
  • The user interface of the tutorial and matches has been streamlined further
  • Each fighter has gained unique emotes
  • Your cyberdeck console gives more feedback on illegal plays
  • Fixed some timer issues. Draft timers have been slightly extended
  • Mods have been added to the armory
  • Anonymous mode added for streamers
  • All ranked badges have been added to the game
  • Improved some of the art while waiting for matchmaking
Improvements and bug fixes
• Players that lose their network connection or have a client crash while playing online, can now reconnect and continue the game.
  • Fixed an issue where emotes and card movements would delay showing player actions, this should make the game feel more responsive.
Free Weekend and Discount
To celebrate the new update Megapop wants to give the chance to everyone to try Haxity and enjoy the fight. For that reason Haxity will be available for free on Steam from Thursday December 3 at 08AM PST / 05 PM CET to Sunday December 6 at 01PM PST / 10PM CET). DevTapas #08

This month we have continued working towards improving the competitive and social features for Haxity. We are planning to release a new update in the coming weeks that will be followed by some special events that we will announce soon!
Reconnect System
The team has been busy working on adding reconnect support to Haxity. This will allow you to get back into a running match if you've been disconnected due to network issues or a client crash. This was a highly requested feature in the community, and we are happy to give it to you!

This feature will allow us to better support online competitions - expect more tournaments and events soon!

We have also added source tracking for created cards, personalized emote texts for all the fighters, nicer badges for all the ranked tiers, and started work on improving UI communication.

That’s all for now! Remember, you can join the discussion in our Discord Community.

DevTapas #07

This week we have continued working towards improving the Ranked System to deliver the best competitive experience for Haxity players. An important part of this is showing players correctly their progress.

In today’s #DevTapas we will share more details about the Ranked System Badges.
Badges Badges Badges
When we created the ranked system, we decided to use badges to visualize your rank. Each tier has a custom design where we try to combine established tier names like “silver” and “gold” with a unique Haxity twist, and our artist Zooey really nailed this unholy marriage!

How the system works:

  • We have 5 tiers.
  • We have 4 divisions per tier.
  • Each division requires 100 rank points to go to the next division.
  • You gain approximately 25 points per game won, depending on matchmaking differences… Losing a game multiplies this by a factor, that starts at 0 at the lowest tier, and goes up to almost 1 at the higher tier.
The Concept behind the badges
Here you can see the badge structure:

Zooey explains you each part:

  • Players start with a "core" badge, which is the black circle in the middle, cables hanging out, etc.
  • When the player rises through the tiers the badge gets "upgraded" with better and better hardware casing.
  • The upgrade analogy is Tech:
Core Component -> Consumer Electronics -> Street Hacker Tech -> Megacorp Executive Tech -> Military Grade Ninja Tech (from the future)
  • All these tech items are modded/hacked (hence the cables)
  • The "red" glowing color of the text will be adapted according to tier color (yellow, blue, etc.)
  • Casing color the same "gold, silver," etc.

By the way, if you are wondering why about the pink blades and the rink… They are there to pave the way for the Next Tier. This one will be pure energy/holographic. So for transition reasons we had to introduce some holographic elements in Tier 5.

That’s all for now! Remember, you can join the discussion in our Discord Community.
