Patch 1.1 is Now Live!

Hey Heroes!

We'd like to thank everyone for their support, love and feedback. Gordian Quest 1.0 was not the end of our journey! In fact, we have just released patch 1.1 and it is now on the live build.

Patch 1.1 consists of some changes that improves the game based off player feedback. The full list of changes includes the following:
Differentiating Enemies
We have shuffled and adjusted some enemy skills. Instead of shifting to another cell, enemies will perform a specific action. This change has been now implemented to all Acts of Campaign Mode. This will allow for more immersive battles and awareness from the player, thus providing a bigger challenge.

Speaking of challenges...
Difficulty and Campaign Changes
We have made Hard the new Normal mode, making Normal the new Easy. This means Torment difficulty has been significantly pushed up, allowing players to take on even bigger, meaner challenges.

To add onto this, dungeons for Acts 2, 3 and 4 have been significantly reduced, improving the overall pacing of the game.
Better Onboarding
We now welcome our new adventurers warmly with better onboarding. Tutorials will now appear for majority of new mechanics: From Skills Grids to Camping. We are also currently working on QoL improvements and a more fluid UI.

We want to ensure that our instructions and descriptions are clear so feel free to let us know your thoughts!

Controller users rejoice! Our first pass of Controller Support has now arrived! Gordian Quest is fully compatible with Dualshock/Dualsense and Xbox Controllers.

We are working on further enhancing this compatibility with many types of controllers, including Nintendo Switch and Steam Controller. This is also in line with our plans to port the game to consoles like Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4/5.
Other Changes
• First pass of Italian localization is now available.
 • Supplies are no longer consumed when traveling. They are instead more prominently used in camps and events.
 • Tier 4 and 5 items now begin dropping at level 60/80. Certain affixes on them will have higher value ranges.
 • Tier 1/2/3 items no longer drop past level 36/60/80, keeping items dropped in the later game more relevant.

We'd love to hear from you! Reach out to us on Reddit, Discord or the Steam Forums.

And last but not least, if you haven't already, please consider giving us a positive review on Steam if you like how we are doing so far. It would really mean a lot to us. Thanks! :haha_gq:

Version 1.1 Improvements are now on bleeding-edge!

Hi Heroes!

We'd like to thank everyone for the flurry of love, suggestions and feedback since our exit from Early Access. Version 1.0 is not the end of our adventure and we intend to make the game as 'perfect' as we can possibly make it.

If you'd like an early peek at what we've been working on, we invite you to try the latest build on our bleeding-edge branch. Here's a guide on how to access bleeding-edge.

Translations for Bleeding-Edge will come later and due this being a beta build, expect bugs. If you do bump across any, don’t forget to hit F8 to send us that report!

Now, let's dive into some of these changes...
Differentiating Enemies
Apart from shuffling some skills, we've added more unique behaviors and skills specific to most enemies. Some enemies will now perform a specific action instead of just shifting to another cell. We've implemented this for most Act 1 and Act 2 enemies and we'll be doing the same for the later acts in the coming weeks.
Better Onboarding
New heroes, we heard your adventuring woes loud and clear. We've started adding more guided flows for the various mechanics of the game and are currently working on some QoL improvements to the UI, as well.
Controller Support
While many chose "Team Keyboard" on our recent ⌨️ vs 🎮 discord poll, we know some have been requesting for controller support for a loooong time and the first pass is finally available. This is also in line with our plans to port the game to consoles like Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4/5.
Difficulty, Balancing, Campaign Length and Italian Translation
• Added first pass of Italian localization.
 • Reduced the size of dungeons in Act 2, 3 and 4 to address campaign length.
 • Adjusted difficulty upwards. Normal is now equivalent to Hard and Torment is numerically harder than before.
Which of these updates have you suggested before? :)

War Child Charity Steam Sale
As one of the participants in the War Child: Game Action: Summer Sale on Steam, Gordian Quest also will be on 25% discount from 24th - 31st August. A percentage from every copy sold will go to War Child UK supporting children affected by war in Ukraine, Yemen, DRC, CAR, Iraq and Afghanistan.

And last but not least, if you haven't already, please consider giving us a positive review on Steam if you like how we are doing so far. It would really mean a lot to us. Thanks! :haha_gq:

Help Us Bring Gordian Quest to Consoles!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Hey Heroes,

We just clicked on the 'Launch' button on a Kickstarter campaign for Gordian Quest to bring it to consoles.

As you know, it is a labor of love that our team spent the past 3 years building (mostly from home due to Covid) and only just officially came out of Early Access on Steam last month.

We are truly grateful that many of you love it and have given us a strong rating on Steam. You will be pleased to know that although we are at Version 1.0, we are still chipping away at the edges to refine it even further and you can look forward to more updates.

And while that is going on, we are now seeking validation for the demand for console ports and there is no better way to do this than a Kickstarter campaign.

Along with that, there are exciting deals we've put together -
- big discounts on PC, Switch and PS copies
- a limited quantity loot box with GQ themed merchandise
- opportunities to get involved with putting new elements into the game
- there are also stretch goals for skins, more playable content and a Xbox port

So we sincerely hope you can support the campaign if you haven't yet bought the game, for this is an opportunity for you to pick up Gordian Quest at a significant discount.

And even if you have bought the game on PC, please consider supporting us for the console ports or perhaps the limited edition loot box.

Please give us some love and help spread the word on your social media accounts.

Thank you so much in advance!

P.S. There has been concerns raised why we are doing a Kickstarter and whether the DLCs are going to be made available to the PC supporters. We would like to address them as follows -

First, on the topic of why. We are doing this to seek validation on whether there is enough demand for the port before we do it. As such, we are only seeking a fraction of what we would really need to do the port.

Second, on the topic of DLCs. To be clear the premium skins on the stretch goal will only be given away for the higher tier backers. They will eventually be sold as DLCs for a very modest price so everyone can purchase them. However, the island content stretch goal will be made free and available to everyone. That means free content for everyone regardless!

Gordian Quest is a deckbuilding RPG inspired by the genre classics

Card-based deckbuilding RPG Gordian Quest has just recently left Early Access, reaching a version 1.0 after a few years of development that saw it journey from a just-ok card RPG to one that floats near the top of the pack. Not just my opinion, either, since Gordian Quest sits at 92% positive Steam reviews on a total of 3,461 as I write this...

Gordian Quest is OUT of Early Access!

Hey Heroes!

The time has finally come: Gordian Quest has left Early Access. We have officially released Gordian Quest with all 4 Acts, Realm Mode, Skirmish (PvP) Mode, as well as the brand new Adventure Mode!

We launched 2 years ago with just Act 1 and 6 heroes, without any of the other modes. But look where we are today.

We have you to thank - for without your support and feedback - Gordian Quest would most certainly not be in the form it is today.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Of course, the adventure doesn’t truly end here. We continually digest all feedback from you, the community, and we intend to make the game as ‘perfect’ as we can possibly make it.

We still have plans for post-release patches, and we'd like to share some of them.
 • In a few weeks, we will be test driving full controller support, a hot request from gamers who prefer to play from their couch.
 • Quality of life features. As a mechanically dense game, we want to make certain areas like the stats of summoned units become more transparent to better inform your build choices.
 • On a broader timescale, we want to revisit enemies and bosses with the goal of making them feel more distinct and unique. Part of this is streamlining or revisiting their abilities so that they are more memorable. At the moment, traits can spawn universally on any elite unit without any restriction, but we hope to have a broader pool of them while only allowing specific ones to spawn on certain enemy types.
 • Porting the game to other platforms, as described below.

A few DLC ideas are currently being discussed. You can support our team by spreading the word about Gordian Quest as it definitely makes it easier for us to continue to bolster the game with more content when there’s a thriving community of players :)

With all the launch content already in place, we’ll also be officially giving Gordian Quest’s price tag a modest bump from $19.99 to $21.99 a couple of weeks from now.

With the ongoing 25% discount for Summer Sale, it is a great time to buy a copy to save some moolah; so be sure to tell your friends or grab one for them!

If you’ve enjoyed the music our talented musician had scored for Gordian Quest, you can now also purchase the original Gordian Quest soundtrack which went live today - sold separately or as part of the Gordian Quest Deluxe Bundle. Existing owners of Gordian Quest can simply upgrade by paying the difference.

As some of you already know, we also have plans to begin porting Gordian Quest outside of PC. For now, our priority is to port to Switch, followed by Playstation and XBox if we hit the stretch goals.

Please check out our upcoming Kickstarter campaign to support us in this endeavor. We would appreciate it if you would share this with all your friends who wanted GQ on console or handheld!

Even though Gordian Quest has been released, we would still like to hear from you! Our journey isn’t entirely over. We would like to ask: is there anything else you’d like to see? Any DLC or extra content you have in mind?

Feel free to reach out to us on Reddit, Discord or the Steam Forums.

We hope you continue to enjoy Gordian Quest! Thank you all for your support and dedication, and we will continue to discuss additional content and future plans.

Crafted with love,
The Mixed Realms Team
