Assignable Mechanics [Devlog #18]



Dear Manufacturers


We are back with more development news.

It has been already 2 weeks since we launched Car Manufacture: Prologue. We are happy for every feedback we've received as it helps us make the game better. At the same time, this devlog goes live, the new Prologue update is released. You can read more about the changes here.

This time we want to give you some more insight into a brand new feature - Workers Assignment.


In order to create a well-functioning car factory we need to make sure that every worker does his job as efficiently as possible. When you first start with a single assembly line things seem pretty normal. But as the factory advances we need to ensure some proper management.

You can now assign a mechanic to each individual assembly line. It's as simple as selecting the Assembly Line and providing targeted workers amount.

If you are in need of more micromanagement and would like to pick a specific worker. You can do so via Workers UI.

By clicking Assignment Info on Worker you can also get some insight into which conveyor it's assigned to and click it to select the targeted assembly line.

Car Manufacture: Prologue Release Date

Save & Load [Devlog #17]



Dear Manufacturers


We are back with some more short info about the development progress.

Those past few weeks we were mostly focused on Save and Load functionality. We are happy to announce that everything went according to plan and you are able to save every kind of game type in Car Manufacture.

We currently taking care of game optimization. Especially the mid and late-game with more complex factory configurations.

As you launch the game the most recent save will show up in the Main Menu allowing the player to quickly jump back into the action.



Via the in-game settings you can setup autosaving system to your liking.

Research [Devlog #16]



Dear Manufacturers


This time we will take a look at the current state of one of the core gameplay features - Research.



Research

In order to develop and discover new Car Blueprints we need to set up our Research Zone.
With the use of Project Slot we can select a current task. And by placing various items like research machines and desks we allow Researchers to advance on an ongoing project.



Tiers

Blueprint tiers work as indicators of how advanced we are in the research aspect. After developing the next main project we move up a tier and our chances of discovering a far-ahead blueprint increase.



Changes

One of the recent changes is the naming system. After you discover a brand new blueprint, you will finally have a chance to set your own model name.

The other one is a combination of a visual progress indicator. As you can see below, we can track current development with the progress bar icon in UI as well as the partial parts showcase.
