Operencia: The Stolen Sun was acclaimed for modernizing the old-school dungeon crawler RPG. We take that modernization one step further when the game arrives on Steam VR soon!

Hello Adventurers!

As you may know, Operencia draws a lot from Dungeons & Dragons and our development team are frequent campaigners.

This gave us the idea of creating some Operencia themed character cards to use while playing. Our battlemaster Babar teamed up with Corvus, one of our veteran 2D artists to create these for the Operencia team.

To spread the love we decided to share these with you so you have something pretty to print out for the next online play session.

If anyone in your playable Operencia battle party can be described as a “super star,” it’s Csilla -- and quite literally! As your scoundrel of a traveling companion Jóska explains in his journal...

Csilla…a star from the heavens, but in human form. Sent from a táltos to aid the quest of his former student Kampó. This is not the kind of claim I’d normally take seriously. Yet it’s also one of the most normal things I’ve heard over the past few days.

I had my doubts about Csilla’s story until [REDACTED -- SPOILER!]. There’s no doubt about it—that was starlight she emitted from her body to [REDACTED -- ANOTHER SPOILER!]. Even with my eyes closed, it nearly blinded me.



She seems rather soft spoken and sometimes as though her head is in the clouds. Actually, it’s typically higher than that, isn’t it? So I guess that makes sense.

I’ve tried relaying tales of my own past to Csilla, and she’s often cut me off with the next thing I was going to say before I actually stated it. She’s also called me out when I’ve…stretched the truth a little bit. I’ve often gazed at the night sky in wonder of the countless stars before me. And now I know they’re looking back.

Csilla is only one of many companions you’ll meet on your travels.

Our modern homage to classic first-person dungeon-crawlers takes you to the land of Operencia, an unconventional fantasy world inspired by a faraway land referenced in countless Central European folktales. An old-school turn-based battle system combines with inspiration from unexplored mythology to offer an RPG experience that feels unique yet also familiar.

Few tips to pack in your adventurer’s bag before you venture out:

- Not all secrets are unlockable when you first visit a level
- Different skills have penalties or bonuses depending on which of the 3 enemy planes you attack
- You can respec your characters anytime with no penalties, so feel free to experiment with builds!
- Make sure you always have enough firewood
- Have fun!

This ultimate version of Operencia comes with the extreme ‘Betyár Mode’ designed by our battle master Babar, aimed only at the most seasoned adventurers.
