Twitch whip hotfix

A bug was found with the twitch whip causing players to lose the adventurer whip entirely. Quick patch to address this softlock.

As a bonus this hotfix includes:
Tier 3 whip sounds/effects
Option to turn roll animation off.

As a side note, know the people adding/changing these things are different people to the server programmers working on the disconnection errors. Those guys are chained to their desks until they fix it.

*Editor's Note* Chains?! What Chains? No one is being forced to work past what a human body on 5x5 Hour Energies is capable of. That's just silly. Every team member is allotted the standard 15 minute break everyday whenever they feel like it to blink their eyes and get feeling back in their fingers

Small update

Hey everyone!
First of all we want to give a massive THANK YOU to the community. Everyone has been super kind and patient as we iron out these launch bugs. We are terribly sorry for the rough edges and are working day and night to fix them.

IMPORTANT: Share codes from pre-patch won't work anymore. Using one will currently send you back to the main menu. We're working on a fix to properly stop this scenario from happening.

Our top priority remains disconnection issues. Sadly they are still occurring. The two main cases of this happening are
- claiming a relic
- Entering the first/second floor of a temple.

We can't tell you how bad we feel about this issue. Good news is we're hot on its heels and aim to have it fixed in another update either tomorrow or the day after.

Changes in THIS update are:
- Fixed share codes not appearing on death screen
- Added an option to remove "camera bob" while sprinting in the video menu
- Patched up some holes in temples that were exposed to the void...
- Added the twitch whip DLC

Changes to come in the next day or two:
- Fixes to the disconnection issues
- Fixes to "user verification error"
- Alternative roll animation that doesn't roll the camera
- Tier 3 whip visuals and sounds fixed while inside a temple

Changes to come after:
- Optimization
- User share codes
- Deeper progression

Thank you all!

Phantom Abyss is a whip-based platformer where you learn from the ghosts of fallen players

Phantom Abyss is an Indiana Jones-style platformer about escaping an underground prison, and dying a lot along the way. First shown at this year's Devolver Digital E3 showcase, your freedom is in the hands of a god who demands sacred relics. To get your mitts on these ancient items, you'll need to whip through four floors of a procedurally-generated temple filled with deadly devices. Falling rocks, giant swinging hammers, hidden spikes, moving stone floors, bottomless chasms—all the classic temple booby traps are here and ready to take you out...

Share codes!

Share codes are back! Full patch notes are as follows:
- Temple share codes are back! (User share codes are coming soon.)
- Fixed a bug where your relics would disappear in the HUB
- Reduce lifetime of The Masked Defiler's bombs from 10sec to 6 sec
- Added warnings for future servers maintenance shutdowns

Top priority is fixing a bug where players occasionally disconnect. Making good headway on this, expect a patch soon.

Other things at the top of the list are:
- Optimizations.
- Various visual bugs such as share codes not correctly displaying keys.
- User share codes
- Twitch whip. - Some users own the Twitch whip DLC. This isn't live in the game but will be very soon.

Thank you all for playing!

Phantom Abyss is Super Meat Boy meets Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones has managed to remain one of the most iconic action heroes in movie history, even though he's got about a 50% hit rate when it comes to decent films. But enough about the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - today we have Phantom Abyss, an unabashedly Indiana Jones-inspired roguelike game that pits you against everyone else in the world in a race through tombs filled to the brim with deadly traps.

Phantom Abyss launched today in Steam Early Access, and it's a curious mix of genres. There's the tomb-raiding and whip-cracking of classic Indy movies, mixed with a kind of precision trap evasion that calls to mind Super Meat Boy. But this is also a unique spin on roguelikes: each tomb you run through is procedurally generated, and each one can only ever be beaten by one person. Once someone reaches the end, that particular layout will be closed forever.

However, failed runs aren't wasted effort, because players who follow in your doomed footsteps will be able to see your ghost's path through the dungeon. If you fall prey to one of the many, many traps and dangers, future players will see where and how that happened. It's almost as if the bloodstain system from Dark Souls was activated for a player's entire run.
