[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Star Trek Online is celebrating its 16th Anniversary with the brand-new update: Star Trek Online: Corruption. This update is now live on PC and will launch on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on March 10, 2025. It includes the 16th Anniversary Episode: Curse of Phrygia, a new TFO: The Belly of the Beast, the Aetherian Concordium Lockbox, and our 16th Anniversary Event!
A brand-new Episode: Curse of Phrygia
Nicole de Boer returns as Starfleet Captain Ezri Dax of the U.S.S. Aventine. De Boer also portrays a new, and far more rebellious character in our latest release. Kings & Queens arc fan-favorites such as Michele Specht, Kai Vilhelmsen, Jason Charles Miller, and Mara Junot also return to voice brand-new characters.

Old allies reunite, as Captain Ezri Dax urgently summons you to the MIDAS Array. Join her in repelling a Chimeran incursion that threatens both the integrity of the corrupted comms array and the stability of the galaxy. Battle through waves of psionic beacons that call on enemy reinforcements in space and explore a dangerously infested environment once aboard. Peril lurks in every dimly lit corner of the array -- so watch your step and don't look back. The fate of the Alliance, and our universe, depends on you.

Completing the Episode for the first time will grant players an Operator Outfit worn by an ally in “Curse of Phrygia!”
New Items in the Lobi Store:
Alongside the All-new Season update, we are also bringing new additions to the Lobi Store!

Aetherian Proton Disintegrator

This staff-like weapon employs the Aetherians' favorite tactic: manipulating their enemies. Proton beams disable their target, with damage increasing as more targets group together. Aetherian Gravity Traps do the dirty work for you, and if an enemy gets too close, you can force them away with a massive Repulsor blast.

Aetherian Concordium Armor and Costume Unlock

As well as providing essential defense against enemy units, the Aetherian Concordium Armor offers increased resistance against incoming Proton damage, as well as increased energy and shield resistance. It is also equipped with an active support ability, which calls in an allied Aetherian Shield and Interference drone. This armor takes the best functions from our enemies and grants them to you.

Claiming this Armor will also unlock additional Tailor options, allowing you and your bridge crew to model the latest in Aetherian fashion.

Aetherian Drone Pet - 5 Variants

These small Aetherian Constructs are permanently stuck in safe-mode, so no matter how much it desires to fuse you, it cannot hurt you. All it can do is follow you around, harmlessly. They're cute, too.

Comes in Azure, Crimson, Emerald, Purple and our own favorite, Silver!
Event Grand Prize – Empersa Miracle Worker Alliance Juggernaut (T6)
"We already lost our Homeworld once. It will not happen again," the Chief Engineer of the Alliance's newest Shipyard read aloud. The Dominion's contributions to the starship design document she had received left no room for misunderstandings; their proposal was experimental, and dangerous. And yet, it was also an honest reflection of the Alliance's current state of mind. Their factions had been betrayed and pushed into a corner.

Sat at their desk, the engineer exhaled tensely. Even in a simulated environment, the Dominion's proposed design led to rapidly increasing numbers, flashes of red warning markers, and risky percentiles. It was obvious -- this creation was the Alliance's response to the Aetherian threat, and it would have no trouble getting approved by the leaders of the Khitomer Alliance in times of war. A weapon meant to stop any invasion on its track, no matter the cost.

This starship features a Commander Tactical/Miracle Worker specialist seat and a Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Temporal Operative specialist seat.

This ship comes equipped with a Console - Universal - Ionized Antiproton Field Projector. Activating this console will create an Ionized Antiproton Field around its owner dealing scaling damage to Foes within its area, with the damage increasing the longer it remains active up to maximum output. At the same time, its owner will suffer scaling Antiproton self-damage which will also increase the longer it remains active up to maximum output. Self-damage has 100% Shield Penetration and can only be half-resisted. Damage and Self-Damage is based on the Ship's Max Hull Capacity. It will deactivate automatically while under 25% Max Hull.
Allies flying through the Antiproton Field will create a weaker replica of it dealing Minimum Antiproton Damage. This Buff will linger for 10 seconds and will refresh with new applications.

This console also provides a passive bonus to you and your allies in a 5km radius of +5% Healing Critical Chance, +25% Heal Critical Severity, and Starship Hull Restoration (Scales with level).

Upon reaching level 5 in this starship's mastery, you will unlock the Hyper-Generative Repair Matrix starship trait. While you are under 100% Current Hull, using a Hull Heal ability will give you a stacking buff of 1% to your current Max Hull Capacity for 60 seconds. New Stacks will refresh the duration. Max 25 stacks.
Console - Universal – Ionized Antiproton Field Projector
Activating this console will create an Ionized Antiproton Field around its owner dealing scaling damage to up to 10 Foes within a 5 km radius dealing scaling Antiproton Damage per second. Damage starts at 1% of your Max Hull Capacity and increases by +1% Max Hull Capacity every second it is active up to 5%. The Owner suffers scaling Antiproton self-damage starting at 0.5% Max Hull Capacity increasing by +0.5% every second up to 10%. Self-Damage bypasses shields and can only be half-resisted. This console will automatically deactivate when going under 25%

Allies flying through the Antiproton Field will create a weaker replica of it dealing 1% of your Max Hull Capacity. This Buff will linger for 10 seconds and will refresh with new applications.
Empersa Array - Antiproton Overcharge Lance
Activating the Empersa Array will generate an Antiproton discharge on the targeted foe, at the cost of overcharging our main core. Half of your current Hull will be dealt as Antiproton Self-Damage (100% Shield Penetration/Half-Res) and will be scaled as Antiproton Damage to the targeted Foe.

Designer’s Notes: For example, if your max Hull Capacity is 10,000 (100%), when you activate the Empersa Array you will suffer 5,000 (50% Current Hull) Antiproton self-damage before resistance. This magnitude will be one of the main variables in the outgoing damage calculation. If you are at 5,000/10,000 Current Hull, you will suffer 2,500 (50% of your Current Hull) Antiproton self-damage before resistance.
Hyper-Generative Repair Matrix (Starship Trait)
While you are under 100% Current Hull, using a Hull Heal ability will give you a stacking buff of 1% your current Max Hull Capacity for 60 seconds. New Stacks will refresh the duration. Max 25 stacks.
Omega Molecule Stabilization Game
Q is up to his annual shenanigans. He will once again be rewarding captains for stabilizing Omega Particles found in various social zones in Star Trek Online. Talk to Q to get the mission “Omega Stabilization (Daily)” and you will be given multiple zones to visit where you must stabilize an Omega Particle by playing a minigame. The chosen zones will change periodically, inviting players to explore the vast expanses of space in order to complete this challenge.

The minigame itself is simple - Omega molecules will fall in from the left in one of four channels. Captains will move the capture device into the correct channel as the molecule hits the right-hand line. The more molecules you capture, the more Omega molecules you’ll safely dissipate, and the more points you will score.

Q doesn’t care how many points you score, just that you complete the minigame in order to receive credit for his Daily Mission. Doing so will grant you Daily Progress if you have not already earned it for the day, as well as the other standard rewards associated with this Daily Mission.

The score received from the minigame does influence your rewards, however! The more points you score, the better chance you have at scoring better quality Omega particle remnants which can be used with the R&D system to craft special Omega Particle Tech Upgrades.

Omega Traces come in the three different colors of the Omega nodes themselves. Using the R&D system you can combine 1 of each Trace into an Omega Sliver. You can then combine three Omega Slivers into an Omega Shard, and three Omega Shards into an Omega Fragment. Three Omega Fragments can then be combined into an Omega Tech Upgrade which costs no dilithium to apply, and supplies a massive dose of Technology and Research Points to whatever item it is applied to.

Furthermore, two additional crafting options are available: Two Omega Fragments can be combined with varying amounts of Refined Dilithium to produce [Mark] and [Rarity] variations of the Omega Upgrade. These new variants focus entirely on improving item Mark or Rarity, respectively, making them ideal for players seeking specific avenues of upgrading their equipment.

Completing the minigame will always score you a single Omega Trace at the very least. The better you score, the greater your chance to win Omega Slivers, Shards, or even Fragments. Beginning with this year’s update, all Omega materials will be changed to Bind-to-Account-on-Pickup, rather than being tradeable with other players. However, refinement techniques have improved since the previous event, so rewards from the minigame will be a bit better, especially for those who score fewer points.
New Party Popper!
It wouldn’t be the anniversary without a brand-new Party Popper to earn. Q describes the “Anniversary XVI” version of our annual toy-device like this: "The fire extinguisher that I gave you mortals last time was so much fun, here's a new twist! I'm sure the effects will grow on you!"

We’ll see you at the party!

Cryptic rises again? Former CEO Jack Emmert returns to the Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and Champions Online studio: 'It was just meant to be'

One of the casualties of NetEase's retreat from overseas development was Jackalyptic Games, an Austin-based studio run by veteran MMO designer Jack Emmert. That studio's Warhammer project now lies in the unreleased MMO graveyard, but there is perhaps a silver lining for fans of the genre: Emmert has returned to his old job as CEO of Cryptic Studios, the creator of D&D MMO Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and Champions Online...
