Who is ASKA?

HYPER UNITS, CONFIRM YOUR STATUS

ASKA is an advanced hyper unit built upon a digitized human psyche, designed to save and protect humanity from the captivity of the Engineers.

She is the first human whose core is built on the revolutionary streaming technology, allowing her to stream her consciousness back to NEXUS when her body experiences failure to be rebuilt and try again. Making her the perfect machine for the mission.

Humanity has been trapped at the centre of MOEBIUS, inside the HIVE. ASKA’s mission is to infiltrate MOEBIUS and get past the cleaners, commanded by the Engineers to stop her. And free Humanity from the HIVE, located at the centre of the city.

Built for the mission to save humanity, ASKA has been equipped with a wide range of powerful tools. One of those is Core Ripping, which allows her to extract the cores of unprotected enemies.

Extracting the core from an enemy will immediately neutralize them, giving you multiple options for how to use the core.

Consuming the core will allow her to extract the energy from it, providing ASKA with a significant power boost. Also let her perform a Super Punch that can send enemies flying, or deal a significant amount of damage to armored enemies.

If surrounded by enemies she can throw the core, causing an explosion dealing devastating damage to surrounding foes, and depending on your upgrades can cause different status effects to them.

Using Core Ripping it’s additionally possible to gain a boost in Healing and Armor to quickly recover health and her defenses, ensuring she can withstand the toughest of foes.

Periodically throughout the game, ASKA will come across Body Modules allowing her to upgrade her own core’s capability and increase the effectiveness of Core Ripping. The different upgrades available to ASKA through body modules is

Core Power Path: Focuses on explosive energy and high-damage attacks.

Body Suit Upgrades: Enhances mobility, and defence, and slows time for precise attacks.

Core Ripping Enhancements: Boosts efficiency, allowing ASKA to extract more power from her enemies.

Allowing her to tailor her abilities depending on how she wants to fight the Cleaners and Engineers in her way.

Different upgrade combinations will affect ASKA’s combat efficiency in different ways. Some different combinations would be:

High Damage: Iron Fist + Double Punch

Agility & Precision: Combat Focus Mode + Synaptic Suppression

Core Ripping Mastery: Magnetic Field + Core Eruption

Getting high damage with iron fist to increase super punch range and radius, and double punch to punch twice for each core consumption.

Using Combat focus mode to slow time on command, and synaptic suppression to make you take less damage in slow motion to create precision both in shooting and movement.

Or master core ripping by doubling the extraction radius with magnetic field, and causing an explosion using Core eruption.

Being able to upgrade your Core isn’t the only way ASKA will improve throughout her mission. During each mission, she will be collecting Dust which can be used to upgrade her weapons based on her needs.

These upgrades range from simply increasing the capability of each weapon to completely changing how the weapon behaves and how to use it the best. Her pistol can be upgraded to either be able to fire lasers at the enemy dealing high amounts of energy damage, or give the pistol homing capabilities to shoot around corners and never miss a shot.

When fighting the army of Cleaners, it’s important to stay on your toes to avoid getting hit by the enemies. While ASKA is immortal, and will always return using the streaming technology her body is not invincible.

Therefore ASKA has been made capable of creating distance between her and her enemies to protect her body from harm. Dash, Wall run, Zip-line and hover to dodge incoming enemy fire, and stay at a distance from melee specialized cleaners.

Using these tools makes her a Hyper Unit nearly impossible to hit and catch.

Enemy Showcase

https://store.steampowered.com/app/990380/METAL_EDEN/

Enemies in METAL EDEN are categorized here to better get an understanding of their threat levels. All cleaners have their weak spots, make sure to hit them where it hurts.
These are the lowest threat level, while the enemies here are easier to handle than the others they’re not to be taken lightly. A few hits from any enemies will leave you damaged.

Scrappers, these pesky things are everywhere. Quickly deal with them to avoid having too many enemies after you at once, or take advantage of them not having a shield to take their core and use it to control the battle.

This is most likely the first armoured enemy the Engineers will send after you. A quick punch will leave it out of balance and make it easier to break its barriers. After you are through its barriers it doesn’t take much to defeat. But be careful as they explode after being damaged.

The basic enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), will follow you and shoot you from above. These airborne gunners make it difficult to dodge and hide from attacks. We recommend dealing with these enemies swiftly to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

Do not let slashers get close. You have been equipped with thrusters to dash and wall-run to keep your distance from dangerous cleaners like these. Make sure to use this to keep your distance.

Basic ranged cleaners will shoot you from afar. Make sure to always be moving to avoid getting hit by their projectiles. Medium to long-ranged weapons are great for these and aim for their head.

They will likely send Leapers after you. These will jump and send out shockwaves during combat. Make sure to not stay on the ground for long and keep your distance as you chip away at their defences. Once their armour has been broken, you will need to deal with them quickly because they are no longer weighed down and so will move faster.

Our data shows many more enemies not just in the previous threat levels but also with threat levels that go beyond ELITE ENEMIES. And not just the engineers but other defences have been set up to stop you.

We don’t have any more information to share about these, so stay vigilant HYPER UNIT.
