Bonjour révolutionnaires! The time has finally come: Banner of the Maid is now available in English! The English localization is immediately available as a free major update: if you already own the game, it will update automatically; if you purchase it now, it will be already in English.

But that's not all, we've got a surprise for you: The Oriental Pirate, the second DLC (and the first paid DLC) of Banner of the Maid that also releases today, is already localized to English. You won't have to wait to have Mu Zhiyun the Piratess leading her Oriental Pirates to battle!

We want to thank our community for their help beta-testing the localization. We are a small indie dev team, and all this would have been just impossible without your help! Adds a new playable character, Mu Zhiyun, and a new unit, the oriental pirates, to your roster. The pirates can use both musket and blade in battles.
The pirates can loot extra treasures (collector's items & special weapons) from certain enemies with their Heroic Attacks.
Purchase the DLC and check out the new quest "The Oriental Pirate" in the salon. Complete the quest to unlock Mu Zhiyun and her pirates.



Added a new, easier mode for players who focus on the story rather than the combat.
In the Story Mode, you start the game with more resources and start each mission with a boost effect.



[NEW] Added emotional voices to dialogues and city interfaces.
[NEW] Added subtitles for in-combat voices.
[NEW] Added dialogues for side quest: "The Merchant, the Drunk and the Food", "A Defeated Opponent", "Journal of the Nameless" and "Enemy of the People".
[NEW] Added achievements for completing the main campaign in Officer and General modes. You'll automatically receive these achievements if you have a saved data with the main campaign completed.
[NEW] Added a language selection interface for first-time players. You can change the language setting later in the Options menu.
[NEW] Added an entrance for the Credits interface.
[Change] The advantage and disadvantage chart is now shown when you deploy units.
[Change] Some enemy reinforcements that appear during the Enemy Phase will not take action immediately.
[FIX] Fixed Paulette's in-combat voices.
[FIX] When the saved data is broken due to accidental termination of the game, you can still read the unbroken saves.

Banner of the Maid can be a challenging game for beginners. Its turn-based tactical combat is deep enough to ask players to consider carefully every movement. There are different difficulty levels for those who are struggling the most, but today we want to share with you some tips and tricks that our player 杀意魔恸天哭 wrote originally in Chinese. Some of them are strategic tips – some others are almost exploits, so it’s up to you if you want to use them or if you feel they’re like cheating. In any case, these 6 tips will be of great help for all newcomers!

1. Don’t save too much money! Especially when playing General Mode, try not to keep more than 750 in your coffers. You lose some money when you lose a battle – but you can’t lose what you don’t have! Buying new gear and training new skills is a better use of your treasure.

2. A trick for getting bread and wine for free: you can re-sell any of them after using only 1 unit for its full price, so that means you can get infinite bread and wine!

3. When you unlock the training levels, do not bother training Adélaïde nor Cosette. There are two types of training levels, Offensive and Deffensive. For Deffensive, pick Paulette so you can get the bonus more easily – a weapon that will come handy to defeat a certain hidden boss later on. As for the Offensive levels, heavy cavalry units will be unstoppable -- there are no units to counter them!

4. Don’t try to attack with Support units. Even if you equip them with weapons, their Attack will always be zero.

5. In the École Militaire, get the Skirmisher skill as soon as possible. That will help you to increase your movement range (something vital in certain levels) and get an achievement in a crucial moment.

6. Level up your Support units using their abilities to support other troops in battle. Don’t worry too much about grinding to level them up.

It took us quite some time to prepare the English localization support for Banner of the Maid, and finally it will be available in Feb.14th, 2020!

And there’s more to come besides the English support:

• Story Mode
  

A new “Story Mode” will be available to choose when you start a new game, along with the existing Officer Mode and General Mode. It’s much easier for players who only want to experience the story.
In the Story Mode, you can choose from various headstart buff at the beginning of each mission to help you with the combat.
Added achievements for completing the game in Officer/General mode.

• We’ve also added some new contents in the existing campaign. More details will be revealed later.
  

• Added subtitles for the voice acting.
  

• The Oriental Pirate DLC will also be available in Feb.14th.
  

The DLC contains a new character, Mu Zhiyun, a pirate captain of Ching Shih’s fleet, along with her pirates and an unique new mission.
The pirates can plunder enemies with their Heroic Attacks and receive exclusive items!
