Type Knight version 1.1.2


Hey! I've just finished working on a new patch for Type Knight. I couldn't recreate on my end a lot of the bugs that have been reported but I still did my best to investigate the game's code to fix most of them. Please let me know if the patch feels like an improvement or not!


Changelog from 1.1.1 (2020-01-08) to 1.1.2 (2020-06-01).
  • Fixed the unhinged dynamic difficuly for the script flow game mode. The longer you had the game open, the faster the skeletons were walking because the game didn't take into account the time you started the new round.
  • Potential fix for the game over screen sometimes not fading in.
  • Potential fixes for crashes related to weather effects (objPluie, objBrouillard and so on).
  • Standardized how the words appear above the sorcerer. The words should behave like for other enemies (graying out instead of disappearing). It should also make the system less prone to bugs. (Some of you had a problem where a new word would fail to appear.)
  • Removed some offensive and vulgar words from the dictionnaries.
  • Updated the readme.

Hello! Here's a small patch for Type Knight. I tried my best to fix the crash related to "objEntites" that's been reported multiple times, however I couldn't recreate the issue on my end. I've made a small change that I think should fix the issue but there's no way for me to know for sure. Let me know if it still happens.

  • Possible fix for the crash related to "objEntites"
  • Fixed not always being able to hear the attack sound effect of skeletons
  • Removed crickets from the background audio during winter mode
  • Updated the alternate version of the mountain sprite used for the lightning strike special effect to the newest version of mountains (you will see the change after winter mode ends)
  • Tweaked the game over screen during winter mode

Type Knight - Winter update!

Hello! I hope you will enjoy this winter-themed update! From now on, the cemetery will be engulfed in snow every year from December 1st to January 15th. Additionally, there's a small surprise if start the game on the 24th to 25th December! Here's the patchnotes:

Hello! Here's the first patch for Type Knight.

If you experience any bugs or crashes or see obscene words, please report them to me! Video footage of the game when you're triggering a bug/crash is especially useful if you want it to get fixed quickly.

  • Added new sound effects to the player text
    • Sound cue when the word appears above the knight
    • Ticking sound with each character typed by the enemy
  • Updated the dictionaries to remove obscene and undesirable words
  • Added a fail-safe that should prevent the post-boss particle crash (if it still happens let me know)
  • Fixed the ghost soft-lock
  • Prevented the enemies to have a word that contain your power-attack word and vice-versa
    • Added an error message in case you would try to pick a word that would leave none for the enemies to use (practically impossible unless you're trying to break the game on purpose in a custom game)
