Also, we’re still awaiting your screenshots if you want to enter our #StayHome Challenge - there’s whole pack of goodies to win and only 2 days left!
Easter egg time!
Everybody at The Farm 51 wishes you all the best for upcoming Easter! We would love this whole quarantine-thing come to an end, but stay strong and safe, guys! Enjoy Easter with your family and friends - even if that can be done only via online contact.
New character - Olga
Meet our new female stalker character - Olga. A tough, Ukrainian teenage girl, one of the inhabitants of "The Village" - a settlement deep in the dreary Red Forest. She fears no-one and hates NAR to the guts after she witnessed their cruelty. Her goal is simple but not easy to achieve - she wants all the NAR out of Chernobyl or dead (not exactly in this order). The only person she loves is her boyfriend, Stalker named Kostya, who went missing a few days ago...

We would like to thank Margarita Ogorodniychuk ❤️ Her great cosplay inspired us to create Olga. Check Margarita's Instagram profile here!
#StayHome Challenge
Rev 25360 Hotfix v2 - Major FPS boost

 • We have finally been able to solve the problem that caused huge drops in fps for some players. Now your fps in the game should coincide with those in the benchmark.
 • Optimizations in our main Hero class should improve even more the game performance for people with a weaker CPU.
 • Optimizations in the sound system should improve the overall performance of the game.

Once again thanks to @Weston and @JafarElBaha, who helped us detect and solve the problem. Let us know if your optimization problems have also been resolved and if the game is already running smoothly.

Rev 25360 Hotfix - CPU performance issue

General:
 • Small animals have left Chernobyl. They will return when we rebuild their operation logic into something more efficient.
 • We optimized the operation of portals used by monsters.
 • We've optimized ranges from which specific sounds can be heard.
 • We've changed the way the sound engine uses memory

All these changes should have a very positive impact on performance. Especially for people who have very good graphics cards and medium processors. Not all problems have been resolved, but we're working on it.

Thanks @Weston and @JafarElBaha. You were really a lot of support.

Weekly Report #14
Hello!
News from around the world is more and more disturbing, but we try to focus on our work and maybe bring you a little bit of light in these dark times. Today we’ll have a look at the things that are coming up in the game soon and a bit later.

Also, we have a small favour to ask - but first let’s focus on the new stuff.
Lenin Square - a fading memory
So far, we’ve shown you the Amusement Park, playground, and fragments of the estate. But this time we would like to show you the place from a different angle.
Before the disaster, the Lenin Square area was a classic example of postmodern soviet architecture with vast, open spaces in which concrete dominated the landscape leaving only small bits of land for the flora which was still very strictly organized and limited.

Archival photos - Pripyat.com

Today, during the last 30 years mother nature has been slowly taking back what’s hers. Trees and plants are taking over the place piece by piece. It’s a slow process, but after years of travelling to Chernobyl, we’ve been observing the changes more and more clearly.

Among other things we try to recreate from the Zone when developing Chernobylite, we also pay attention to the flora. The forests, foliage, plants we build our locations with are carefully designed in the way they would greatly reflect the post-apocalyptic mood of the place. Have a look at some screenshots. We hope you like it!
Workshop - a small glimpse of a new place
Do you remember this place from our first trailer? Did you think that it was for the trailer only? Well, it is not ready for the game yet but we are working on this!

It is a very atmospheric place, full of details and hidden stuff. For now, of course, it is only a sneak-peek. You just have to wait for it a little bit more!
Small favour for us
We’re extremely happy that the work we do receives so many positive comments from you and we’re glad for all the feedback we get on our Steam forum. However what is also very very important to us are reviews.

If you like our game, please leave a review on Steam! Let us know what you think of it so that we will know what we should work on more, and what is good and worth exploring further.
We’re making the game for you guys, so share your thoughts in reviews! Thanks a lot!
#Friday
The moment when a monster expresses interest in you and you’re just pretending you’re dead.
