Żmija part 1 - Bootcamp

Hey everyone,

we managed to complete a part of the planned update early, so we're pushing it ASAP to the Bootcamp branch as "Żmija" part 1. The update includes:



Overhauled Codex

Codex entries for Characters, Enemies and Weapons have been expanded with new information. You are now able to see their skills (complete with full tooltips) and attributes. We have also added some requested information to Characters' entries like their epliogues and names of their personal missions.

Codex UI has been refreshed to bring it in line with the rest of the UI and to make it more readable.

In addition, Codex can now be accessed from both Battles and the Hideout either by pressing "C" on your keyboard, by interacting with the Codex "dude" or by clicking on the Codex button.



Bug Fixes
  • fixed dead characters epilogues showing at the end of the game
  • fixed Sapper freezing the combat in rare situations (usually when combined with the German FT)
  • fixed the missing tooltip for the Retaliation's ongoing effect
  • fixed multiple Achievements not unlocking correctly: Rockets Away, Mr. Hayha, Belloc's Maxim, Pistol Packing Mama, Straight Flush, World Coming Down, 63 Days of Glory

"ŻMIJA" PREVIEW

Hey everyone!

New stuff is coming to Warsaw later this month as discussed in the previous update. Let's take a look at how all of those changes will impact both the character progression and the codex.

[h3]CODEX [/h3]

"Żmija" will bring a significantly improved codex experience to you all.



  • UI was completely redone in order to make it more consistent with the rest of the game. The previous iteration had a very tiny text box with large fonts, which made reading stuff a chore. For the new version the "front page" was removed and integrated with the entry list to reduce the amount of clicks necessary to access an entry.

  • Locked parts of an entry (mainly in the characters' backstories) are now clearly marked with a grey color. Entry parts are also now separated for additional readability.

  • You have asked for the epilogues to display in the codex and we have listened. Unlocked epilogues are now permanently added to a characters' codex entry.

  • We now display skills of characters, weapons and ENEMIES (!) in the codex. You can check tooltips of German abilities to better prepare for what lies ahead.

  • Attributes (health, accuracy, resistances, etc.) of characters and enemies are now displayed in the codex.

  • Finally, the codex can be accessed from any part of the game, including from the battle!



[h3]CHARACTER PROGRESSION [/h3]

This is another total makeover of an important system that will be a part of the "Żmija" update.

  • Characters now gain experience (XP) for winning fights, completing missions and so on.

  • XP is gained per character. Benched characters do not gain XP.

  • Additional XP can be gained by awarding medals to characters. This way your old medals will be still useful in the new system and you will also have a way to boost your reserve insurgents.

  • Old characters levels (Rookie, Veteran, etc.) are gone!

  • Randomized character skill trees are gone!

  • Instead all Skills now have a XP cost added to them. A character can "buy" any skill at any time as long as he or she has XP to pay for it.

  • New feature is added to the game - Perks!

  • Perks are passive attribute bonuses, which increase health, accuracy, resistances, etc. A number of perks are available in the game. Perks are "bought" using XP, just like skills. After a perk is bought, it is automatically applied to a character from now on. More ways to customize your guys and gals!

  • Another new feature is added to the game - Battle Challenges!

  • Each battle in the game now has two optional challenges that you can complete for additional XP. These range from limiting yourself to a particular type of ammo, not moving, etc. Challenges should result in more varied battles and provide a more rewarding experience with their risk/reward scenarios.


We have also fixed a number of bugs reported by you on our forums and did additional balance passes to various element of the game.

SITUATION REPORT - Public branch updated

Hello everyone,

as you no doubt have noticed, there was a delay with "Radosław" and "Żmija" updates. This was due to some behind the scenes stuff and also us re-evaluating the upcoming features. I would like to apologize to everyone, who were eagerly waiting for the updates in December. We will strive to do better in the future.

Both content updates are still happening. We have merged the first part of "Radosław" with the public branch today. The rest of the "Radosław" will be combined with the "Żmija" and will be released this month (January).

A refreshed Codex, bug fixes, balance tweaks and most importantly, the revamped character progression system will be available soon.

We will post a large written preview of the upcoming systems this Friday. Be sure to check out Warsaw on Steam then.

CONTENT UPDATE "RADOSŁAW" Part 1 - Bootcamp Branch

we're still hard at work tinkering with the "Radosław" larger changes so we've decided to post a first part of the update today.

NEW BOSS - Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär



A new type of a German tank takes to the field. Brummbär is a more resilient, more deadly variation of the Panzer IV. With over 90% damage reduction and a devastating main cannon this one will be a challenge for the insurgents.

This enemy also comes with it's own, new mission type you can embark on from the Hideout.

QUALITY OF LIFE

- Selling value of items is now displayed in their tooltips

BALANCE

- Decreased aoe range of Cocktail Party
- Increased aoe range of Incite
- Reduced Stamina cost of Interference

BUG FIXES

- Fixed Kill Squad working incorrectly
- Fixed Stand By incorrectly triggering reactions
- General fixes for the Executioner's starting skills
- Fixed loading screen displaying incorrectly in some cases
- Fixed broken Revenge description in languages other than English
- Fixed game language getting "stuck" to English in some windows
- Fixed Ambush description in languages other than English
- Fixed broken difficulty descriptions in languages other than English
- Fixed broken strings when looting in languages other then English

OTHER

- Added 'settings' file (with unlocks) to the Steam Cloud Sync
