Update 22 - Game Changer

Hey Everyone,

We are glad to say that we are back to updating Kingdom Wars 2, with several updates planned over the Fall and Winter.

To start things of we have a major update 22 for you today that really helps improve a lot of areas of the game - from pathinding to camera, as well as some re-balancing and quality of life improvements. You`ll notice some visual improvements as well.

Since we are back to updating the game - please let us know on the forums if your having any issues you would like for us to focus on, or have balancing or other suggestions.

With that said - lets take a look at what update 22 has in store:

  • Removed delay when tasking large number of units
  • Fixed various issues that happened when tasking large number of units
  • Fixed units sometimes getting tasked twice
  • Fixed camera sometimes jumping when tasking units
  • Game will start with much higher visual settings for new installations
  • If you already have the game installed - please select High or Highest presets in the Options Menu
  • Reworked all graphical options presets for much higher quality
  • Reworked game camera to have streamlined default and max zoom out
  • Various other camera changes and improvements
  • Removed Performance and Regular camera settings - there`s a new Epic camera only now
  • Combat is about 20% faster now
  • Reworked Dragon Guardian mechanics - it`s now a lot easier to slay the Dragon now
  • Couple of dozen of smaller fixes and improvements across the board

Update 21 - Updates and Improvements

Hey Everyone,

Today we have another solid update for KW2, including some long requested features, a lot of balancing, main menu GUI rework, campaign fixes and much more.

Please keep in mind there will be a follow-up update later this week, adding a few more things that didn`t make it time for today`s update.

The one of the biggest additions our payers always asked were adding codes to gain extra resources - and we are happy to finally bring it to KW2. Took a while to make sure they only work in non-multiplayer games.

To use such codes Press F7 or open chat window and type in /food or /wood or /stone or /gold to get 1000 of that resources added.

Now lets take a closer look at what Update 21 has to offer:

  • Redesigned main menu Skirmish and Survival starting interface
  • Select Skirmish or Survival with one click on the battle type
  • Added extra resources
  • To use extra resources codes Press F7 or open chat window and type in /food or /wood or /stone or /gold to get 1000 of that resources added
  • Using these codes in campaign or Skirmish will not earn Steam achievements in this battle or this campaign missision
  • Some final polish to the campaign - making late game chapters be less grindy and easier
  • Full rebalance of combat stats - making fights last faster
  • Sieging is a lot faster as well, making game feel a lot more dynamic
  • Fixing a number of de-sync issues effecting multiplayer
  • Improvements to translation of the game, especially the campaign text
  • Enabled some new construction for Orcs - like spike traps and body piles (To be added soon)
  • Rebalanced combat AI so that Elves are not so overpowering anymore

Update 21 Incoming

I`m glad to bring some good news - we have a major update on the way that should be ready by next week.

It feels great to work on Kingdom Wars 2 again and we spent quite a bit of time bringing a lot more polish and improvements to the game with the upcoming update.

To give you a brief preview of what`s coming:
-Reworked Skirmish/Survival main menu with updated user interface
-Adding cheats to the game
-Some final polish to the campaign - making late game chapters be less grindy and easier
-Full rebalance of combat stats - making fights last faster
-Sieging is a lot faster as well, making game feel a lot more dynamic
-Fixing a number of de-sync issues effecting multiplayer
-Improvements to translation of the game, especially the campaign text
-Enabled some new construction for Orcs - like spike traps and body piles
-Rebalanced comabt AI so that Elves are not so overpowering anymore
-Couple of dozen of smaller fixes and improvements across the board

Update 20 - Milestone Redesign & Co-Op

Hey Everyone,

We are glad to say that our 20th milestone update is finally here. Apologize for the delay with getting this live and the announcement, wanted to make sure all the major changes worked well.

This update improves all areas of the game, as well as completely changes the way players join battles with much stronger focus on CoOp. From the reworked main menu and matchmaking to new gameplay rules letting players play in CoOp skirmish and CoOp survival both with other players or AI companions.

This updates also completes the long term project that improves and streamlines every chapter of the campaign, making it easy and fun on lower difficulties, and always an impossible challenge on harder difficulties.

We also looked intro rebalancing a lot of stats for all of the 3 playable races to fix any balancing and other issues.

Let’s take a closer look at this Milestone 20th Update . To make it easier to process the changes we have combined a lot of the changes into general categories.

  • Redesigned the main menu GUI for battles
  • Battles menu now shows player portraits
  • Add Zombie portraits to the battle menu for survival mode
  • New approach to battles menu that combines Survival and Skirmish into one menu
  • New design of the battle window all the GUI for both CoOp and Survival
  • New way to play Survival with AI partner
  • Campaign re-design complete with all chapters polished and improved
  • Special focus on improving chapters 3, 5 and 6
  • Various improvements to the survival experience
  • Polish and balancing to skirmish AI to better work in CoOp 2vs2 team environment
  • Rebalancing of stats for humans, orcs and elves
  • Rebalanced and fixed aspects of the siege – sieges now are typically faster
  • Fixed couple of long-standing issues with AI
  • Dozens of bug fixes all across the board
