Avatar Playstyle: Reina
Dear Denizens of Issilith!
Just as in real life, Reina is also a bit of a misfit on the battleground. This Specialist Avatar will require you to plan ahead, and occasionally go into a battle frenzy and revel in the pain of your units.
Reina’s signature Skill, Offering, allows you to target a local owned unit and deal 1 damage to it. In return, it will heal your Core for 2. And all of that for just 3 energy. This Skill also has a great synergy with cards that profit from being damaged, such as Hammerhead or Ragewarden, so including them in your deck may be the boost you need.
But not all great combinations with her come from cards. Her default trait, Korethus Preserver, gives her +1 power as long as your Core has full health. And since her Skill heals your Core for 2, it shouldn’t be too hard to keep your Core at full health, at least in the early stages of the match, so try to turn this into your advantage.
Her second trait, Forbidden Knowledge, will allow you to draw an extra card at the start of your first turn. Letting you have a small, but often significant card advantage over your opponent. No effort is a wasted effort.
However, if you prefer a more tactical approach, perhaps her third trait is a perfect fit for you. Rogue Ritualist will add a reap effect to Reina’s Skill, causing her to obtain a Sanguine Enhancement every time she kills a unit with it. This trait rewards calculated players, since Sanguine Enhancement is a 2-cost ability card that adds +1/+1 stats to a unit, letting you further buff the ones that will help you achieve victory.

While Reina can be a solid Avatar for beginners thanks to her Skill that brings sustainability, to really utilize her strengths as an Avatar, a more strategic approach to both deck-building and playing is a way to go.
