Unsouled Official Release Announcement

Hey everyone, this is Team Unsouled!


We are finally graduating from early access and coming to you as ver1.0!
It was an extraordinary experience to actually hear your voices and experiment with many systems throughout the early access period. Thank you so much for the valuable feedback and continuous support.

Here is the new content that we’ve been preparing for the official release!

The first new piece of content is the Advanced Abyss.

Players may now summon up to five enemies they have met during gameplay and experience chaotic combat with the Advanced Abyss.

We’ve also added UI that shows the combo damage for players who like to check and experiment with their skills.



The ‘Mirror Dimension’ is another major piece of content included in this release.

The ‘Mirror Dimension’ is an additional challenge mode where players will find Gradiva that was touched during the gameplay.
Each Gradiva in the ‘Mirror Dimension’ will offer a challenge to the players and have them push their limits with many other missions!

Unsouled Official Release Date Announcement


Hello everyone, this is team Unsouled!

We finally have the official release date of Unsouled and would like to share it with you.

Unsouled will graduate Early Access on Wednesday, the 27th of April at 8am (PDT).

During the Early Access period, we’ve been both polishing and preparing it to launch on XBOX and Nintendo Switch. You will be able to experience Unsouled on all the platforms mentioned when it is officially released.

The first new piece of content for the official release is the Advanced Abyss.

Currently, the Abyss is a spacious training place where the players can freely practice combos and try out various skills. However, this felt somewhat empty and was a little lacking.

However with the Advanced Abyss, players may now summon up to five enemies that they have met during gameplay and experience chaotic combat.

We also have some QoL updates for the Abyss, such as adding UI to check the player’s combo damage.


Another major addition is the ‘Mirror Dimension’

The ‘Mirror Dimension’ is an additional challenge mode.

Players will find themselves in an empty space with the mirror.


However, once the player finds and touches Gradiva (the stone statue) in the Story Mode, it will appear in this space.
The player can then experience the challenge that each Gradiva offers.


The ‘Mirror Dimension’ will allow players to push their limits by having more challenging and thrilling missions.
This place can be expanded by many other upcoming contents, and will become the player’s space for collectibles.

Besides these contents, we are also designing and developing a Roguelite mode, an additional boss rush mode, and much more for after the official release.

We sincerely thank all the players who’ve been enjoying the game and sending us feedback and providing support. This all has been a great help to us.

Early Access Developer's Letter #5

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since our last announcement.

I want to start off by apologizing for the infrequent communications and updates despite still being in Early Access. On the other hand, thank you all for continuing to wait for Unsouled’s content.

Due to internal circumstances, in addition to PC, we are directly porting the game to Xbox and Nintendo Switch. This is taking a lot longer than expected, which is why we weren’t able to devote as much time as we’d like to working on content for the PC version.
Thankfully we are almost done, and will be able to fully focus on preparing for the content update soon!

On that note, we’d like to share a bit about where we’re heading with the content update.

Roguelite mode won’t just be a type of content that can only be used after reaching the end of the game. It can be enjoyed simultaneously with the main game, and continuously after the ending as well!

We are also planning to add bosses (which some may call the highlight of Unsouled) and new enemies inline with the game’s concepts, so be prepared to challenge yourself to more fights after the official release.

There was also a lot of feedback received during Early Access regarding how difficult it was to understand the story. In response, we are planning to add some collection elements to improve understanding.

We are constantly reviewing the feedback received from our players, and are doing our best to implement them to improve the game.

Unsouled Early Access Patch Note #1


Hi everyone,

Ever since Early Access began on the 17th, we have received a lot of bug reports and improvement ideas. We’d like to say thank you, and will be reviewing each and every piece of feedback.

Among the feedback received, we have identified urgent issues that need to be prioritized for improvement and have applied fixes where possible.

Please find the details of today’s update below.

1. Difficulty adjustment
A key trait of Unsouled is the sense of challenge and reward that comes from its hard difficulty. However, we have adjusted the balance of Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal so that each difficulty is more distinct due to it being overly difficult.

  • Increased the amount of Red Souls acquired in Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal difficulty
  • Added dash immunity time to Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal difficulty
  • Increased Attack and reduced damage when hit in Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal difficulty
  • Added Rookie Mode (on/off) to Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal difficulty


2. Increased soul absorption speed when not in combat
It is possible to absorb souls during combat tactically, and it is directly related to boss difficulty. But, we have decided to adjust this due to feedback that the overall rhythm of the game is interrupted if souls are absorbed at the same speed even when out of combat.

3. Improved boss combat convenience

Boss fights are the core of Unsouled’s combat. Yet, sometimes it will be difficult to clear no matter how hard you try. Sometimes you may even need to start over to complete the Challenges! A restart feature that allows players to return to the very beginning of the Act and obtain souls for upgrade before facing the boss again was added. In addition, a quick restart feature that returns the player to the last save point is now also available.

4. Modified difficulty based features in Act 2 during the part with the rolling rock
There was a good amount of feedback stating that the part where players have to avoid the rolling rock in Act 2 was overly difficult. As a result the difficulty level of Prince of the fallen kingdom and Normal was greatly reduced.

5. Greatly increased the chances of acquiring Passive Soul when certain conditions are met
6. Skills can be used without additional upgrades when acquired
7. Modified the patterns of some bosses in each difficulty
8. Bug fixes


Aside from the above, other detailed improvements were also made.
We will continue to actively improve the game through user feedback during Early Access. Thank you for your feedback and interest!

Early Access has started for Unsouled!


Hi everyone, this is Unsouled Team!

We're happy to finally announce the Early Access release of Unsouled. You can now enjoy more of Unsouled via Steam and Xbox!

Early Access of the game is planned until Q2 next year. As previously announced we're going to make a lot of improvements to the game during this period including new content, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and more.

With your help and support, Unsouled will grow and improve tremendously! If you have any ideas on the game or run into bugs and glitches, let us know anytime.
