[p]To access the beta, right click Free Company in your library, select "Properties...", select the "BETAS" tab and opt into the beta branch.[/p][h3]
Combat Rework[/h3]
  • [p]Reworked NPC damage reactions and responses to physics forces[/p]
  • [p]Enemies fall over less easily and get up faster. Knockdown chance after being staggered is now based on remaining HP and impact force instead of 100%[/p]

  • [p]Added ballistas to defensive positions in several existing maps. They must be manually cranked and are fired with the trigger button[/p]

[p][/p][p]For transparency, this will likely be the final update. I apologize for the game going 3 years without an update. Unfortunately other work, financial, and personal responsibilities prevented me from working on it. I know the game is generally considered "dead" but I wanted one more tangible update to bring it out of early access instead of leaving it in it's current state. [/p][p][/p][p]In the future I would like to revisit physics-based VR combat using S&box, which is based on the Half Life: Alyx build of Source 2, to do things that weren't possible in Free Company. I appreciate the feedback I have received over the years.[/p]
