Your Terraria inventory is about to get a massive upgrade

Terraria's next final update (I really don't know how many more 'final update' jokes I can keep making) is going to make inventory management a whole lot easier. The devs at Re-Logic have already said that Terraria 1.4.4 is focused more on balance changes and quality-of-life improvements, and today they've revealed a particularly notable update.

The maximum stack size is getting ten times bigger than its current limit of 999. "Simply put, we are increasing the stack size of nearly every stackable item in the game to 9999," the devs say in the latest monthly update blog post. "Please note that there are some exceptions to this, but only around ten to 15 which had to be kept as-is for mechanical purposes."

1.4.4, or the 'Labour of Love' update is set to arrive sometime "later this year". If you want to know everything that's been confirmed for the update so far, you can check out the official wiki (which has recently been brought under new management).

Terraria gets yet another update before Labor of Love

Terraria State of the Game - March 2022

Greetings Terrarians!

March already... well almost April really?! 2022 is flying by - but we are sure glad to see Spring starting to come into full bloom and with it, a lot of the plans we have been discussing in earlier States of the Game are close to coming to fruition! 1.4.3 for Consoles and Mobile (parity... at least for a time!) is right around the corner, Labor of Love draws ever-closer, and we have a lot of exciting things to come on the community and merch fronts as well. So much has already happened this year, but we are just getting warmed up.

Let's see what is in store shall we?

PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - LABOR OF LOVE UPDATE
The team remains hard at work on a variety of Quality of Life and Balance updates alongside some other fun additions that will be coming your way with the Labor of Love update. We often get asked what we mean by "Quality of Life" updates - versus, say fixes or new features. So, we figured now would be a good time to show off one such QOL update that we are particularly happy to see added to Terraria. It is one that is a long time in coming - and one we figure will be pretty much universally popular.

What is this wizardry?!?

Simply put, we are increasing the stack size of nearly every stackable item in the game to 9999. Please note that there are some exceptions to this, but only around 10-15 which had to be kept as-is for mechanical purposes.

This is just one of the Quality of Life upgrades that you can expect once Labor of Love arrives later this year.

What else does Labor of Love have in store? When will it arrive? Well, you will have to stay tuned to find out!
STEAM WORKSHOP NEWS
Click the banner above to check out the Terraria Workshop!

The level of quality and quantity on the Terraria Steam Workshop keeps on growing and growing - with over 50,000 packs and worlds so far, you are missing out if you haven't taken the time to check out the Workshop yet. What are you waiting for?!
WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON?
The team has been almost solely focused on the various aspects of Labor of Love now that it is in full developmental swing. That said, we are quite eager to get back onto progressing our second game - which we will do once Labor of Love is done!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone!

We have some definite progress this month that you will want to check out - tML will be doing monthly previews starting in April... and an update on tML 1.4 timing. Want all of the details? Read on!

Moving forward, tML on Steam will have two different branches/betas: 'preview' and 'stable'. Most players on stable will be able to play without the fear of tModLoader updates breaking the game without notice. Each preview will be live for a month, giving modders time to update their mods and react to new changes, before becoming 'stable' at the end of the month. We encourage all 1.3 modders to come and start porting their mods to the preview next month! With some concerted effort, feedback and support, we hope to have the first 'stable' release of tML 1.4 in May, for Terraria 1.4's 2 year anniversary. For more info, come join us on Discord, and watch the collaborators and [TML 1.4 ALPHA] channels!

As always, you can keep track the current progress and such more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)

Developers who are willing to contribute may do so by doing PRs to the tModLoader/tModLoader branch. (See tModLoader/tModLoader)

PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS

CONSOLE/SWITCH/MOBILE CONTENT PARITY TO 1.4.3 REMAINS THE FOCUS
The team remains hard at work putting the finishing touches on the upcoming 1.4.1 - 1.4.3 updates for Console and Mobile. We remain fully on-track as of now to get this update in everyone's hands in April. We are very close to being able to submit to all first parties for approval - but we cannot give an exact launch window yet because we do not know how long or how many review passes any given company will want. That said, we are getting close!

To tide you over, here is a little teaser of what is coming your way (with a video from Mobile this time - but everyone will be getting the same content)... watch the cursor closely.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

We are, of course, aware of some of the larger remaining bits (further KB+M work, Online+Splitscreen MP, etc) - and we still plan to get to these! Thanks so much for your feedback and reporting - with your help, we are able to fine tune and sort out issues to create a better Terraria experience for everyone!

Mobile news is much the same as the news for consoles... on track for April. Repeating that here in case you skipped straight here.

Again, it is our plan to bring Mobile and Console 1.4.1 - 1.4.3 out all together, all at once (send us your positive vibes please!) - and Mobile timing will be the same as shared above: April 2022.

COMMUNITY

Greetings Terrarians!

Here's the latest and greatest happenings on the Community side of things. Thanks as always for being the most engaged and awesome gaming Community ever!
THE OFFICIAL TERRARIA WIKI HAS A NEW HOME
In case you missed the news, the Official Terraria wiki has moved to terraria.wiki.gg! As we shared in the news post, we made this move primarily to be able to have greater creative control over the appearance, ad content, etc. of the wiki in order to bring things together in a more consistent way for the long term. As in the past, Re-Logic receives nothing (revenue, etc) from the wiki - our involvement here is strictly to maximize the experience for the Terraria fans.

So, head on over to the new Official Terraria Wiki today, update your bookmarks, and help us spread the word about the new home for all things Terraria!

---

Just a few days later, both the Thorium and Calamity Wikis made the move to wiki.gg as well!
TERRARIA MERCHANDISE STORE HUB
The merchandise hub is where you can find all of the latest and greatest Terraria merchandise - and we are kicking off the new year with a handful of new offerings, including brand new plush! Check out the latest merch drops as well as some classics and pick up that epic Terraria gift for a friend (or yourself!)

Click the banner above to head to Terraria.org/store now!
TERRARIA MERCHANDISE UPDATES
March has been a pretty quiet month on the Terraria merch front - but we have a ton in the works that we expect to be able to reveal in the next little bit. From new designs in current categories to products that we have never had before, we are doing all that we can to keep things fresh. As always, you can head to the Terraria Merchandise Hub to see all that we have currently available!
OTHER COMMUNITY NEWS
The official Terraria wiki is no longer official

The official Terraria wiki is about to lose that 'official' moniker, as the devs at Re-Logic have just announced the launch of a new version of the game's digital encyclopaedia. The devs have announced that they're working with Freedom Games to make terraria.wiki.gg the new official source for information on the sandbox game.

The new official Terraria wiki is already live, and already features all the information from the old wiki. "Re-Logic has long wanted to further establish a more common look and feel across the various sites and ways in which our fans interact with Terraria," the devs say in the announcement. "So, we have carried that through here by utilising the style elements from our website and from our forums."

In practical terms, Re-Logic now has a closer relationship with the owners of the wiki. That means ideas for changes to the wiki based on community feedback are more likely, and information about new updates is likely to be included much more quickly. You'll also find that the new wiki has less obtrusive ads.

New Official Terraria Wiki Launches Today!

Greetings Terrarians!

The Terraria Wiki has been a valuable resource to players everywhere over the nearly 11 years(!) of Terraria's history. With so much content to explore, having such a comprehensive summary of everything at your fingertips is simply fantastic. The Wiki has undergone quite a few changes over the years from its beginnings alongside Terraria Online all the way to the current iteration run by Fandom. Throughout that time, we have been so fortunate to work with a lot of awesome partners in order to evolve and maintain a strong wiki for our fans.

The time has come for the next step on the Terraria Wiki evolutionary journey! Starting today, Re-Logic is proud to announce that we are launching a new location and partner for the Official Terraria Wiki!
Moving forward, we will be partnering with the good folks at Freedom Games as one of the first games in their newly-launched wiki network. The new URL will be terraria.wiki.gg - and you can click on the image above to head there now!
We are making this move primarily to be able to have greater creative control over the appearance, ad content, etc. of the wiki in order to bring things together in a more consistent way for the long term. As in the past, Re-Logic receives nothing (revenue, etc) from the wiki - our involvement here is strictly to maximize the experience for the Terraria fans.

Why these folks in particular? Well, at a high level, these were the actual individuals whom were responsible (with a lot of community help, of course!!!) for building the amazing wiki that we have had over the years. For example, many of you may know or recall ReedemtheD3ad! from the Gamepedia wiki days. He is on point to help run this new wiki effort with Freedom Games, so we feel like things are in good hands here!

The Fandom wiki will remain in place as a second unofficial Wiki, and on speaking to them, it is their intent to keep it up and fully operational.

So what does this mean for you, the player?
WHAT'S DIFFERENT?
• Re-Logic has long wanted to further establish a more common "style"/look and feel across the various sites and ways in which our fans interact with Terraria. So, we have carried that through here by utilizing the style elements from our website and from our forums. In the future, we may explore "themes" like we have on the forums (Corruption, Crimson, Snow, etc) - but for now, we have used the base "Terraria" default theme as our basis.
 • Ads should be less obtrusive - we are actively avoiding some of the more problematic approaches here, which we have heard are an issue loud and clear from our community.
 • Ads will be "in-house", Freedom Games do not use a third party service like Google and they receive no direct revenue, they simply point to games that they publish.
 • Our ability to make changes - from our own ideas or from community feedback - will be exponentially higher. Simply put, we have more control now... which means so do you.
 • With a much closer relationship than in the past, we hope that this will mean faster updating as new content, etc. arrives.
 • We will be adding a link to the wiki from inside the game on PC. This already exists on Console/Mobile, but all links will be updated as soon as possible.
WHAT REMAINS THE SAME?
• The starting point for the new Official Terraria Wiki will be the current form of the past wiki. You will find all of the old information there - so no need to reinvent the wheel or be worried that the important tip for how to beat that seemingly-impossible boss will be gone. We have done our best to ensure that all of that information made the journey over.
 • As mentioned above, the top management team of the Gamepedia wiki days are here... so there are some very familiar faces. Don't be a stranger!
 • The rules, etc. should be more or less the same as in the past.
 • The Fandom Wiki will continue to be in place as it has in the past - we do not have any issues with this, and think it will remain as a good additional option for folks.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
• We need your help in establishing our new Official Terraria Wiki as the place to go for Terraria information! Make it your go-to spot, update your favorites, and be sure to link to/from the new wiki when chatting with each other about Terraria!
 • We need your help in editing and creating new content for the Wiki as time moves on.
 • Most importantly, we need your feedback! The enhanced ability to make tweaks and changes, etc. means nothing unless we are making it a better wiki for all of you. We have created a special thread here on our Forums for you to provide that feedback. Alternatively, you can join in on the discussion directly with the team over at the Official Terraria Wiki Discord. The team will be sure to read and consider everything you suggest.
Official Terraria Wiki Feedback Thread on TCF
That's it, everyone - we hope that this feels like a good move for the Terraria Community in the long term. Once we get through this initial transition phase, we look forward to helping to provide an amazing Terraria Wiki experience that will better serve you all for years to come! Have any questions or concerns? Leave us a note here in this thread.

Cheers!
