Eastern Roman Empire - The Silk Road

Hello, lords! Today, let's introduce something new - the Silk Road.
Since the map is not yet fully completed, the starting point will be Edessa.
The newly created interface displays the routes of the Silk Road and the caravan markers on the large map.

If there are currently no caravans, a monthly check will be conducted to see if any appear at the starting point.

The probability of caravans appearing is influenced by the knight and citizen populations in all territories along the entire route. The larger the population, the higher the probability of their appearance.
Meanwhile, the probability will also be reduced by wars and plagues.
When a caravan appears, the lord who owns this fiefdom, or the character who owns a Silk Exchange (private estate), will immediately receive an income. The fief lord will obtain trade taxes, while characters who own a Silk Exchange will receive a base income plus dynamic income based on the population.
The more the population, the more gold coins the characters with Silk Exchanges will obtain.
The greater the number of Silk Exchanges, the more it influences whether caravans will continue to stay in this territory for trade.

In this territory, the number of Silk Exchanges owned by all characters determines the probability of caravans staying.
Caravans will attempt to move to the next territory every month. If they fail to move and stay local, they will generate trade taxes again for the local lord and each character who owns a Silk Exchange.
Therefore, try to make the caravan stay in the territory for as many months as possible to earn more money.
When the caravan arrives in Constantinople, it will decide whether to continue staying there or return to the East (and disappear). Once a caravan disappears, a monthly check will continue to see if a new caravan appears.
Please note that after a caravan arrives in a fiefdom, while it brings economic income and population growth, it will also trigger an additional plague judgment.
So, it's up to you, lords, to choose between wealth and safety!
