Miner's Mettle is launching soon!

Hello!

We're excited to announce that we're launching into Early Access on the 13th of May, at 6am PDT.

Miner's Mettle has some innovative mechanics and game play we're excited to introduce you to. We hope you enjoy it! Currently, there's a horde mode, for single player and cooperatively (up to 3). There's also a versus mode (from 1v1 to 3v3). While the base of what the game is going to be is in there, I should point out that we're not at the stage where one can expect dozens of hours of content upon launch. We hope you wish list us and come back later if that is what you're looking for.

We're plan to be in Early Access for up to a year. We will work on modules that broaden and deepen game play, such as different modes, mass weather anomalies, new abilities, a unit management system to handle your units more effectively, etc.

Further, we're also going to be working on the story campaign side by side. You'll follow the story of Roland as he witnesses warfare breaking out on Pentum as factions arm themselves to gather as much of the mineral as they can.

While all of the above is being worked on, we will listen to you and the other players on which direction to the take the game. Feedback is important and we'd love to hear yours.

Thank you, and see you on the minefields of Pentum!

Our launch is delayed...

Hello,

I hope everyone is well and safe!

Our launch has been delayed again till April 22nd. I apologize for the late delay, as we truly thought we were able to hit this target until recently.

The pandemic has caused a lot of chaos around the world and we're no exception to that. We've been able to shift to working from home but it was a slow process that cost us a lot of time and is slowing us down even now. We're hard at work at improving the game and are confident the extra time will make the game more enjoyable for you.

Thank you for your patience, and stay safe!

Regards,
Ignatius

The World of Miner's Mettle

Miner's Mettle is set in the 28th Century. Humankind has spread across the stars, to a handful of planetary colonies. Despite many advancements, space travel continues to be slow, dangerous, and expensive. Most live and die on the planet they were born on, and faster-than-light travel remains an unattainable goal.

A consortium of corporations, nations and other organizations build and spread survey satellites, one of which discovers a distant planet, designated Pentum. Wracked by constant severe weather, Pentum is uninhabitable but rich with valuable minerals. Delighted with this haul, the consortium has territory assigned to each member by an arbitrator, and they each send teams and equipment over to extract and process their resources.

Upon landing, preparations begin. The quickest and most economic way is believed to be industrial trains; they can survey the land for resources while being able to mine and haul them in as well. Soon train tracks criss-cross the planet as operations begin.

A mining team stumbles upon a new mineral, and samples are sent back to civilization. A few months later, stunning news is brought back upon one of the mining barges that ferry minerals to the colonies. Preliminary testing suggests the mineral may be the missing key to, and the fuel source for faster-than-light space travel.

The news spreads across the planet and it's mining communities like wildfire. The planet could hold the key to accelerating Humanity's advance by centuries... as well as make the fortunes of anyone lucky enough to hold stakes on Pentum. But the mineral isn't distributed equally across the planet. Some areas are rich in the mineral, while others have none at all. Some consortium members hold vast territory with almost no Pentum at all, while others seem to be drowning in the stuff. Rumours fly that some have taken to demanding fellow miner's minerals at gunpoint.

As the value of the mineral explodes by the day, previously friendly neighbours look at each other with mistrust and try to secure their borders. They will be rich beyond their wildest dreams, if only they can show their mettle...

Our Roadmap

Hello!

We're excited to be releasing soon! We've been planning our roadmap during Early Access, which we will likely put up on Trello and post a link for you to check out before launch.

I do want to give more detail here however before we do that:

1) The Campaign - We will start work on our campaign imminently after Early Access launch! This is where the lion's share of effort will be expended during Early Access. We're aiming for approximately 24 missions, which should come to a 10 hour experience.

Play Roland, an ex-artillery officer as he navigates the treacherous world of Pentum by his cousin John's side. We will share more lore and the background of the factions soon!

2) Weather - A weather system with multiple weather events. Each map will have 1 or 2 which will come and go on the turbulent planet of Pentum. Sandstorms and blizzards will slow units and reduce visibility, earthquakes will decrease accuracy, meteor showers can be fatal...

3) Abilties - Further broadening and deepening the abilties for the four factions, increasing tactical flexibility, deepening strengths and shoring up weaknesses as you evolve your strategy in-game.

4) New Modes - Depending on player feedback, suggestions and reception, we will add in new modes (both single player and multiplayer)

5) New maps

6) Balancing and Bug Fixes - Self explanatory!

Of course, these plans are tentative and depending on player suggestions and feedback we're willing to add, remove or shuffle things around!

This should give you an idea of what we have planned over the coming months. Keep an eye out for our Trello some time soon, as well as our post detailing some of the lore and background of the world of Miner's Mettle!

Thanks,
Ahad
