Shaping the Future of Aeternum: Upcoming World Merges

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Change is a constant in Aeternum — and as our world evolves, so must the structure that supports it. Today, we’re announcing a set of upcoming world merges aimed at improving player population, matchmaking, and overall activity across all regions.[/p]
A Stronger, More Connected World
[p]Updated July 23 After thorough consideration of community feedback received about the planned world merges, the decision has been made to retain one world in the AP Southeast and SA East regions. The decision to merge worlds is made with consideration for many areas affected by player population such as queue times, and availability of opportunities to take part in multiplayer content. Our goal is to provide the best experience for players possible, and we understand concerns around latency and how important performance is to players. We thank you for all of your feedback, and for the enthusiasm from the New World: Aeternum communities in the AP Southeast and SA East regions.[/p]
Cross-Play Evolves
[p]Platform-exclusive Xbox worlds will be merged into regional cross-play environments. This will allow console players to enjoy all the challenges of Aeternum alongside a larger player base, creating more opportunities for adventures, alliances, and epic conflict.[/p][p]One PlayStation-exclusive world will remain in the US East region for those who prefer platform-specific play. All other PlayStation worlds will be merged into that world, giving players the freedom to choose their path — whether it’s sticking with familiar territory or stepping into the broader cross-play world.[/p]
The Worlds in Motion
[p]Here are the specific merges taking place:[/p]
• [p]To El Dorado (US West):[/p]
• [p]Aquarius & Pleiades (US West)[/p]
• [p]To Delos (AP Southeast)[/p]
• [p]Cerberus & Crux (AP Southeast)[/p]
• [p]To Devaloka (SA East)[/p]
• [p]Alkaid & Chertan (SA East)[/p]

• [p]Nihal (SA East)[/p]
• [p]Taiyi (AP Southeast)[/p]
• [p]Mardi (EU)[/p]
• [p]Kronomo (US West)[/p]
Important Dates to Remember
[p]To ensure a smooth transition, please note the following:[/p]
• [p]Tuesday, July 22[/p]
• [p]Brief server restart for retiring worlds[/p]
• [p]Character creation and transfers will be disabled on those worlds[/p]
• [p]Sunday, July 27[/p]
• [p]All Wars on retiring worlds will be canceled and refunded[/p]
• [p]Wednesday, July 30[/p]
• [p]Access to retiring worlds will be disabled[/p]
• [p]Characters and companies will be relocated to new home worlds[/p]
• [p]Territories on retiring worlds will be refunded to owning companies[/p]
• [p]Reimbursement begins for transfer tokens used in the last 14 days[/p]
[p]Just a heads-up: inactive players from affected regions will be placed into either a crossplay world (for Xbox) or the dedicated PlayStation world on US East, depending on their platform.[/p][p]We’ll continue to monitor world populations and performance closely after the merge, and we’re committed to staying adaptive as Aeternum continues to grow and evolve.[/p]
A New Dawn Awaits
[p]These world merges are about more than consolidation — they’re about crafting the best version of New World: Aeternum for every adventurer. Whether you’re gathering with friends for a dungeon run, waging war over territory, or forging your path through the unknown, we want your world to be dynamic, challenging, and brimming with life.[/p][p]We’ll see you in Aeternum![/p]
World Merge FAQ
[p]Will I lose my latent character if my platform is being merged?[/p][p]Latent characters will merged to their new platforms and be able to choose a world.[/p][p]Will my company be lost when my world is merged?[/p][p]Companies will be retained after a merge.[/p][p]What will happen to my items on the trading post?[/p][p]Players from merged worlds should remove all items from the trading post to ensure they are not lost.[/p][p]Would my houses be lost after my server is merged?[/p][p]Housing and housing items will not be lost when merging.[/p][p]What can I expect to happen on merge day?[/p][p]For this round of merges, it will be necessary to put both source and destination worlds into maintenance. We thank you for your patience for this extended downtime.[/p][p]What about my leaderboards position?[/p][p]We scheduled this merge to happen as close to S9 start as possible to minimize impact on leaderboards. For non-platform specific merges the data will be retained but there may be a delay before it appears after the merge is completed. Characters from platform specific worlds will not retain their leaderboard information.[/p]
