Update 71: I see you

[h2]Hello everyone! Update 71 is here, bringing you QoL improvements, battleground objective reworks, and more!

[h3]New, ultra cool features:[/h3]
  • You can now see the fleets of other people playing the game! This is the first step in making EFAS a more social experience. (You see other players playing single player)
  • Your faction emblem is now displayed within your ship! (players’ request)
  • The speedometer is now present on the galaxy map allowing you to change your speed and see alerts without returning to the bridge. (players’ request)
  • Maintaining ESC in towns will directly return you to the bridge.
  • A menu to check your proficiency levels has been added (second floor of the ship)
  • Your ship transport tube has been fixed and lets you change floors easily (elevator added to the ship). (players’ request)
  • Battles now have 2 objectives. A certain number of enemies must be defeated before being able to destroy their city's shield. (players’ request)
  • You can now rest in your ship to recover health after a defeat! (players’ request)
  • Mods and skills can now be refined and upgraded!
  • Autonomous NPCs are now displayed on the radar.
  • Elements on lower or higher floors will be grayed out on the radar.


[h3]Improvements:[/h3]

  • Battlefield information messages will now display longer and 5 messages can be shown simultaneously.
  • The administrative AI now has different dialogs whether you control the location or not.
  • Improved melee attack special effects.
  • The ships' AI in battles has been improved.
  • The troops' battle formation AI has been improved.


[h3]Fixes:[/h3]

  • Items will now display the correct icon.
  • Enemies directly under you can now damage you. (discovered by players)
  • The ship purchasing cinematic will now display correctly. (discovered by players)
  • The battlefield information messages in multiplayer are now synced correctly.
  • The AI bipedal mech's missiles will now lock onto targets correctly.
  • Non-host players' HUDs will refresh correctly between battles. (discovered by players)
  • Troops will not run in place anymore. (discovered by players)
  • Enemies will not target players' dead bodies anymore.
  • Nanospheres will now work correctly in multiplayer.
  • The game will no longer soft-lock when surrendering against pirates.
  • Skills will now work correctly on subsequent uses.


[h3]Known issues:[/h3]

  • DLSS will sometimes cause the camera to zoom-in during battles.
  • FSR will sometimes cause screen shakes.

Update 70: SNAP!

[h2]Hello everyone! Update 70 is coming with new troop formations, new weapon cores, an upgrade system, and mooooooooooooooooore!

Additions


  • New Mod:
    -Anti-Personnel Missiles

  • All Mods have been modified to use weapons' primary attacks

  • New Weapon Cores for the Pistol:
    -Eagle Eyes
    -Deadshot
    -Large Caliber
    -Infinite Magazine

  • A crafting system has been added!

  • Equipment can now be upgraded, refined, or recycled

  • The Eternal Glove is back! (targets enemies and allies alike!)

  • Missions' difficulty is now more obvious

  • More information about Good Will with characters and factions will be given in-game

  • Battlefield statuses now have voice-overs (players' request)

  • 3 New troop formations!

  • Ships can no longer phase through objects

  • A small cutscene has been added when purchasing ships

  • NPCs now look at you when close by

  • NPCs will now be able to give local commerce information (players' request)

  • Picking up quests will now let you choose if you wish to track it or not (players' request)

  • The mission board shows where to go to complete missions (players' request)

  • Mining and recycling now have proficiency levels

  • Tutorials can now be turned off (players' request)



Fixes:
  • Players’ names will be added in front of their companion in multiplayer (players' request)

  • Black screens after loading should not happen anymore

  • Rift levels will now display correctly

  • Dying while reloading the bow will not loop the reload sound anymore

  • UIs on the star chart will now function correctly

  • Ships will now drop units on the battlefield when needed

  • The level up effect was slowed down

  • Colonies will now sell troops

  • The initial number of troops when starting a battlefield will now be correct.

Update 69: Nice

A69 is ready to welcome your examination! In this update, we proudly present a much demanded and long-awaited feature, the ability to command your troops, and move them into formations!

Some troop types will have extra capabilities when they move into formation. For example, the Combat Nurse and the Shieldmaster both raise their shields in a defensive stance when they enter formation, greatly increasing the defensive ability of your army.

As with all new feature introductions, this feature still needs polish and will be greatly improved in upcoming versions.

There are also a number of other cool features and content added in this new version! Read on below to find out what's new:

[h2]New Additions:[/h2]

  • 4 New skills have been added!:
    1. Rick Ochet’s (Bouncing grenade)
    2. Portable Guided Missiles (enough said)
    3. Mini-HAARP (thunderstorm AoE)
    4. Energy Rift (horizontal light beams, will be renamed in the near future)


  • Players can now give commands to their army and set up formations!

  • The star system has been separated into zones, each with a level associated with it, ranging from 1 to 60. The higher the level, the more difficult activities in a zone will be.

  • You are now able to level up as well, gaining max shield and health on each level up (but there's no skill tree or talent tree as of now yet, those are coming soon).

  • Our oldest battlefield, the grasslands, has received a total overhaul. It now boasts a bunch of obstacles and is no longer flat!

  • Space Colonies now have a dedicated 3D environment.

  • Custom emblems can now be saved and shared with other players. You also have the ability to like or report player uploaded emblems.

  • NPC activities are now displayed in the bottom left corner of the HUD.

  • Defeating pirates now improves your relations with nearby factions.

  • The affix Blitz has a new special effect.

  • Tanks now fire a continuous laser beam.

  • When reporting a bug you now have the option to leave us your email or discord handle to allow us to contact you for further information.

  • Simple tutorials on the different ship functionalities have been added.

  • After a battle, the health of players (not troops) will automatically be fully recovered. [Players’ Request]

  • The radar is now easier to read and shows the position of other players.

  • Mission details are now displayed when accepting one.

  • Barbara (the player's companion) has new animations.

  • AI pathfinding and aiming have received improvement.


[h2]Fixes:[/h2]

  • Factions will not suddenly hate you anymore.

  • Forts and colonies 3D models will not suddenly disappear when interacting with them.

  • Treasure chests will not be empty anymore.

  • Your companion’s inventory SFX will now play as intended.

  • It is not possible to purchase more ships than available slots anymore.

  • Turrets will now target players as intended.

  • The alarm will now ring when a parasitic meteor is close by.

  • Lights in certain environments are fixed.

  • Fuel and food rewards will now be granted correctly.

  • Fuel and food icons will now be displayed properly.

  • All players will now see the original price of items in multiplayer.

Update 68: Shield up!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!


Here is our 68th update and I can remember last Christmas' update very vividly, more so than others. How far we've gotten in a year, I am proud of our little team.
But enough self-congratulating for today, let's see that list:

[h2]Main changes:[/h2]

  • New unit, the Shield master!

  • Barbara covered more skin since it can be cold in space.

  • Multiplayer companion names will now show who they are the companion of.

  • Strongholds will now react differently depending on your hostility level.

  • Crucial event notifications will now be displayed in and off battle.

  • New NPCs stories have been added.

  • You can now receive mission rewards directly from the mission board.

  • Some quests will have a time limit.

  • Quest will be rendered void if the NPC that gave it dies.

  • Turrets have new particle effects.

  • 3rd person vehicles received camera improvements.

  • Creative tools can be accessed from the bridge.




[h2]Player requested changes:[/h2] You peeps are the real heroes!


  • Enemy vehicles will now be easier to differentiate from yours.

  • All players can now interact with the same interface simultaneously.

  • Camera orientation in space is now consistent between loadings.

  • Loadings show the progress percentage.

  • Starbucks pickup now shows the picked up quantity

  • Event randomization rules have been updated to prevent an event from repeatedly occurring.

  • Multiplayer fleet movement is now smoother.

  • Multiplayer companion names now show who they are the companion of.



[h2]Other changes:[/h2]


  • Strongholds now react differently depending on your hostility level.

  • Turrets’ range have been modified.

  • The interface to choose exosuits has now a different icon.

  • The interface to choose exosuits is turned off until the feature is ready to avoid confusion.

  • The 2D scene for space station has been removed and will be replaced by a new system soon.

  • The load of the AI on your processor has been reduced.

  • Saving will now be even faster!

Update 67: The galaxy strikes back

Hello everyone!
We have some exciting stuff in store for this patch so without further ado let's get in the patch note!

New additions


  • Parasitic Meteors: Sentient infected meteors will now chase you throughout the galaxy. If they touch you a flurry of Pems will crawl aboard your ship.
  • New skill: Nano-spheres! These spheres are made out of thousands of nano-fireflies attacking nearby enemies while healing nearby allies. You can control the swarm by pressing it's assigned key.
  • Only one of each skill can be equipped
  • Attacked factions will now prevent entries to their territories and fortresses. Their guards can be bribed to gain entry.
  • Icons have been added above enemy units
  • Companions and other players will have their names displayed during battles
  • More skills and items can be used by allies and companions
  • New allies now have weapons when joining your team
  • Main quest overhaul
  • Side quests have been added
  • You can now use gifs as your faction emblem [Requested by players]
  • Space station can now be destroyed
  • Navias now have a dedicated map
  • Skipping a dialog will show a prompt asking you if you wish to skip
  • New colony 3D model



OPTIMIZATIONS


  • Saving will now be faster
  • Soldiers can now be sold and bought without issues
  • NPC character traits that are in opposition (example: “strong” and “weak”) will not be given to the same NPC anymore
  • The power level difference between you and opposing forces will be more evident
  • Enemy grenades will now explode on contact
  • Combat unit models size have been adjusted
  • Companions’ hitboxes are now deactivated in towns [Requested by players]
  • Companions will no longer bear weapons outside of combat
  • Companions’ inventories will now function as intended
