DevBlog 14: 7 Days til Early Access

Greetings Commanders,

Time flies when you’re busy creating new units, commanders, modes, maps and more! Yes - our next big release is just 7 days away! Take a look at the below to find your local release time.

With 24 new units, 3 new commanders, our new payload mode, Campaign Act 1 and Co-op defense mode, plus 4 new PvP Maps, this release is a big one.

We’re dropping new units across Global Risk, Black List and New Horizon. Covering air and ground - battle with new tanks such as Global Risk’s Imperator. Launch air strikes with the Condor and Albatross, two new air units for Black list. Infantry, vehicles, tanks and air are all included in the release.

We’re also releasing Payload mode! Destroy the incoming crate drops to reveal the payload, and escort it safely, fighting off incoming attacks, to its launch point. You’ll need to successfully protect and secure three to win.

As well as three new commanders, we’re also releasing four maps, bringing the total up to eight. Explore Frostbite, Blacksite, Domination and Railyard, and defeat the enemy!

Our upcoming release will be fully available (Audio, subtitles and menu) in English, French, German, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Korean. Subtitles and menu only translation will be available in Spanish, Japanese, Polish and Russian.

DevBlog 12: New Game Modes

Greetings Commanders,
Here’s another DevBlog that gives you more intel on what’s arriving with our Early Access on May 24th.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Payload introduces a new game mode and victory conditions for you to test your tactical prowess against. During battle, crate drops will parachute onto your choice of three special maps, Blacksite (3v3), Domination (3v3) and Rail Yard (2v2).

Race to these, because some will contain the powerful unit bonus, while others will contain the payloads. Fend off your foes, shoot the crates to open them and escort the payloads to their final firing position. Do this three times to trigger their launch and win. Alternatively, destroy your enemy bases in the traditional way.

Operation Thunderstrike allows up to three players to band together to fight off the forces of a rogue A.I. that is indiscriminately targeting everyone. How long can you hold the line?

In partnership with ESL, there'll be prizes to be won and competitive mayhem to be had with our three regional tournaments in Europe, North America and Asia. You can register up until June 5th.

DevBlog 10: Early Access Delayed

Greetings Commanders,
In game development not everything always goes to plan but we have communicated with you the freshest news every step of the way. This continues here as we announce the delay of our Early Access to May 24th.

Delayed, but don’t be dismayed, there are good reasons for this.

This is a tough call, but we have had such a wealth of feedback from players during our Technical Test and Demo that we can now more comfortably implement these changes. This ranges from squashing bugs to optimising graphical performance.

Unfortunately, we must cancel the free play test (originally planned for April 21st) so that we can continue to focus on all the players feedback. And so while our current priority is getting the game ready for Early Access, once that’s released we can assess the possibility of a platform for free tests afterwards.

If you are unsure of the game, you will find many great Let’s Play videos on Youtube.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

We also now have more time to refine the game based on our work with the community council. As always we’re listening to all feedback because the game is ultimately shaped and driven by the players. This makes us open to suggestions; game development is an ongoing process and content updates post launch are the norm for most titles.

Like many of you, we are also looking forward to getting to grips with Dune: Spice Wars and Galactic Civilisation 4, which were also due to enter Early Access on the same day. My, what a good time to be a strategy game player. In the meantime we can now all enjoy more RTS :)
