Patch v1.0.6 Achievements, Bug Fixes, and a Tutorial

Summary: New achievements, major bug fixes, a tutorial, and limiting cheesing of instant heal at the end of the match. Still watching for balance issues but been seeing a much larger spread of abilities when I've been playing in last patch.

New Features:

- A lot of new achievements have been added. Let us know via #suggestions at https://discord.gg/uwsurn4 what kind of achievements you might want in the future.

Balance Changes:

- InstantHeal will now be put on cooldown if you are damaged by the zone
- Meteor is now a single larger meteor for better readability

Small Changes:

- Added Tutorial to the main menu for new players
- Killcam changed slightly. Spectator will still be broken (We are working on this)
- The first zone closes 5s slower to avoid a potential bug

Bug Fixes:

- Getting kicked to the lobby after joining a game should be very unlikely now
- Forward Dash Attack should no longer cause fatal errors if the player dies while you are charging at them
- Another attempt to fix start group selection, let us know if they are still not appearing for you

Upcoming Features:

- Keybindings and Settings Menu Overhaul
- Spectator actually working
- Advertising strategy to attract more players.

Patch 1.0.5 Matchmaking Fixed, Larger matches possible!

Major Game Changes:

- The first two zones will start closing MUCH faster. They close slowly so be sure to Hold M to find the white safe circle.
- New matchmaking will wait for 3 players on different teams to start a server. It will also prevent new servers from spinning up when one is already looking for a match. This should increase match sizes dramatically.


Balance Summary:

The blink behind meta is very strong right now. The constant movement while its on cooldown also doesn't give ranged abilities the chance to react. I want to open up more space where people aren't moving insanely fast so people have a chance to hit them.

Balance Changes:

Smokebomb CD 4s -> 8s
Sprint CD 6s -> 8s
Sprint Speed 4x -> 3x
BlindBehind Range 4000 -> 2500 (This should give people the chance to stay out of range and hear you approaching)
Meteor Speed 2000 -> 2000 increasing to 3500 over duration
ArrowVolley Arrow Damage 6 -> 5
Kickback DMG 20 -> 15
Backstab behind DMG 30 -> 25
Laserbeam Cast time 2s -> 1.25s
Entangling Wall is now called Vine Cage

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug where dropping and picking up an ability reset its CD. Thanks @Havoc ICMC
- You can no longer get perma-rooted
- A potential fix for not seeing the start groups if game starts while you are minimized
- A lot of the holes and embedded ability spawners have been fixed on the map
- We've implemented error text that will allow us to help people who never get into a match
- Dragons will now chase you a little ways
- Your teammates should never appear multiple times anymore on your UI (and other fixes to teammate UI)
- Attempted another fix at start selection group disappearing
- Fixed a bug when you hit enemies very very far away

Small Stuff:
- Character Selection -> Character Skins to try to make it more apparent its just cosmetics
- More matchmaking status details in client

Summary

Overall reducing damage across the board to make the game more tactical and strategic and a bit less spammy by raising cooldowns.

Currently working on fixing matchmaking to have larger games.

Continuing to address bugs posted toat the Valgrave Discord (click here to join).

Balance Changes

Arrow Volley Damage 8 -> 6 (40 -> 30 total)
Backstab Behind Damage 45 -> 30
Backstab CD 2s -> 3s
Fireball Damage 6 -> 5
Kickback CD 2s -> 3s
Tornado Damage 25 -> 15
Tornado Speed 2000 -> Starts at 500 increasing to 1000 over duration
Tornado CD 8s -> 7.5s
Sword Slash DMG 5 -> 7 (want to increase the damage use of it since the CD is nerfed)

QoL Features

- Put "To Show Map [HOLD M]" under the map to let newer players know
- You can now see players a little farther away.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed bug with your teammates showing up multiple times (thanks Kukkel)
- Fixed bug where dragons would be in the air on server but ground on clients
- Prices will now reflect currency type properly. (was set to always show USD)
- Removed ability to pop up chart with all the NPC_Ranged
- Potential fix for long-lasting sounds from being infinite (whirlwind, ice arrow, tornado)

Currently Working On

- Fixing matchmaking so players get matched together better
- Adding keybindings and ensuring mouse sensitivity gets saved between matches
- Doing small fixes and balances while we work on matchmaking issues
- Prepping advertising for when we complete keybindings
