Major update dropping on 16th of December

On the 16th of December 2021, around 16:00 (04:00PM) CET, the next major update for Fireworks Mania will drop.

Christmas comes early this year :)

Mods & workshop

In case you haven't heard it, the biggest change in this update is the mod and workshop support - so what does that mean?

Mod and workshop support enables the community (modders) to create their own fireworks to be used in the game. Once its ready they can share with the the community via the mod.io workshop.

For you as a player this means you can now get tons of more items in your inventory to play around with - with new ones being added every day/week, thanks to some awesome modders we have in the Fireworks Mania community!

Over the last few weeks where mod support have been on the experimental branch, modders have managed to publish no less than 58 mods!

You can browse the workshop here: fireworksmania.mod.io

There is a workshop directly in the game where you subscribe to the mods you want to install. So installing and uninstalling mods is literally as simple as clicking a button in the game.

I showed of how it basically work in this dev log if you are interested.

I'm really excited to see what modders will create over time as I expand what is possible with the mod tools and what players will do and build with it - I'm foreseeing a blast of a New Years this year :)

Surprises?

I'm not saying I have added a bit more to the game than mod and workshop support, but I might have added a bit more than mod and workshop support to the game.

You will see on the 16th ;)

- Enjoy!

Steam Awards Nomination

It is Steam Award time - and this year you can nominate Fireworks Mania!

Yes that's right - Fireworks Mania can be nominated - so don't hold back if you like the game.

Together with the community, I am closing in on the first official release of mod support / workshop support which I hope to be able to release in mid December 2021.

CHANGE LOG v2021.11.5

[EXPERIMENTAL] v2021.11.4

These changes only applies to the EXPERIMENTAL branch.

CHANGE LOG v2021.11.4

## CHANGES
- The Workshop now default to other mods by Updated. I have done this to give active mod creators, that updates their mods, more exposure to players and more downloads. At least thats the idea behind it
- Translation updates
- Changes to how mods are handled when imported, so all custom materials in the mod are now attempted to be enabled for GPU instancing - which means much better performance on rendering the models themself. Performance on the effects is another story

## BUGS
- Fixed some texts on the Workshop UI to not be truncated in some languages where the text is long
- Fixed issue where not all materials on an item to spawn were replaced with the "SpawnMaterial" (the blue one) and therefore not fully blue/transparent

As of writing the EXPERIMENTAL branch holds mod support changes:

[EXPERIMENTAL] v2021.11.3

These changes only applies to the EXPERIMENTAL branch.

CHANGE LOG v2021.11.3

# CHANGES
- Updated the Workshop UI to fit just a bit better to the games general UI
- Updated the Workshop UI to be mainly localized (translated). However, as I have a plan to redo the entire UI of the game, including the Workshop UI, sometime in the future, I do not want to spend too much time on getting all perfect in the Workshop UI at this point

# BUGS
- Fixed issue with inventory pages with enough items for the scroll to appear, so that the scroll isn't starting scrolled to the bottom, but starts out scrolled to top, as you would expect
- Fixed bug where sounds added via mods was not affected by volume setting in the game
