v2020.2.2-demo

This will most likely be the last update of the Fireworks Mania Demo for a while, as I will switch to focus 100% on moving on with the full game.

This means much more interesting and new stuff will be added to the game faster.

Hope you will stick around and if you haven't already I will encourage you to wishlist+follow Fireworks Mania here on Steam, but also subscribe to my YouTube channel to get latest news.

As this is the last update of the demo for a while, I though I would give you guys a little extra.

Therefore, lets welcome the new "Screaming Pal", which is a "Whistler".

I also did a dev log for this release which can be seen here.

- Enjoy!

CHANGE LOG:

GENERAL:
- Added colliders to the playground items and the pool area in the house next to the church
- Added a loading screen so there is something to look at while the game loads a new scene
- Some general performance improvements. This means the game loads a little slower (why the loading screen have been added) but the game should run smoother when you actually play
- Added some rotation of the camera in the main menu - just because it looks cool

FIREWORKS:
- Added new type of fireworks, "Whistler", in form of the new "Screaming Pal"
- The fireworks, that actual models, is now easier to see in this "dark" environment. I added this because it bugged me that the "main thing" in the game were so hard to see. Let me know in Discord if you like the new look or not
- Updated the inventory thumbnails for all the rockets to make them a little easier to see
- Added a new "disappearing" animation to make the "used" fireworks disappear in a little more stylish manner (looks pretty damn good if you ask me)

BUGS:
- Fixed the bug where you could "walk on water" in the pool near the church. This is solved now - the pool is now empty! :)
- Fixed the bug where you could rip of the doors of some of the houses you where not suppose to go into

v2020.1.2-demo is here

First of, thanks to all of you who have played the demo so far, the feedback have been so positive which makes me very happy - thanks!

It also seems like a lot of you are pretty active with sharing the game with friends and on social media - so please continue with that, thanks you! :)

The demo have just been updated, which I guess will be the last update of the demo in a while, as I need to focus on continue developing the full game.

I'll keep posting about my progress here on Steam and on my YouTube channel:
youtube.com/c/laumania

So please keep an eye on that, subscribe and remember the notification bell set to all, so you get a notification when I post a new video or go live.
And talking about going live, I have done that a couple of times lately, as it fitted my schedule and it was really fun to speak with all of you who joined.

Here is the live stream from when I released this demo update.

Fireworks Mania | Dev Log | v2019.11.2

Happy New Year - hope you had a good year so far!

I december I managed, especially thanks to the Christmas vacation, to create a New Years Special Demo of Fireworks Mania, free for all to play.

I knew the game was "fun", but I didn't except that huge amount of positive feedback and downloads that I have received since releasing that demo! WoW!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

To make the demo ready in time for New Years eve, I had to put it on itch.io. Nothing wrong with itch.io, I just want the real demo to be here on Steam where the game also lives.

Therefore, I made the demo so it expired on the 6th of January 2020, sorry for that to all the players feeling sad about not being able to play.

However, fear not, I'm now working on getting a demo ready on Steam that does not expire. The content will be close to the same as the New Years version.

Big thanks to all the people who played the demo this New Year and all the YouTubers who shared their experience on YouTube - Thank you all!

Fireworks Mania | Dev Log | v2019.11.2

In this video I go through some of the changes I have made in version v2019.11.2.

This video is somewhat technical and some of it might not make sense if you are not a game developer.
However, for regular players I might be interested to see how things are actually done behind the scenes.

I post these dev logs on YouTube after each version and will also post here on Steam.

However, if you want to see all my videos, please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel: Laumania.

The main theme in this version is "audio". I started using Master Audio for Unity and got 1000+ real firework sounds that I start using in the game - and they sound very good!

- Enjoy!

PS: To avoid confusion, let me make it clear - as of writing december 2019 - you can't buy Fireworks Mania on Steam yet.
However, you can wishlist it to get notified when it's released. I'm posting video and news like this on Steam and YouTube to let you know about the progress of the game.
