Goodbye UE4, Hello UE5
Goodbye UE4, Hello UE5
After more than a year, the time has finally come and everyone will be playing Gold Hunter on Unreal Engine 5. The players who had activated the experimental version in the meantime were already able to enjoy the Unreal Engine 5 to some extent.
It's been a long road and unfortunately this has also slowed us down, as 95 percent of everything in Unreal Engine 5 has been reprogrammed. However, this was necessary to ensure that the code was clean from the outset. This means that errors can be found more quickly or even avoided directly.
Additional features and functions can also be implemented much more easily as a result.
But we are still a long way from reaching our goal, this is just another step in the right direction.
The game is far from finished and will still take some time.
There will continue to be regular updates, which we usually schedule for Friday. The update can be smaller or or larger. Of course, it can also happen that a new feature takes considerably longer to make it into the update.
Due to the numerous bug reports from the community in the experimental version, we have already been able to find and fix many bugs. The bugs don't simply disappear with a new code and new bugs will of course also appear.
But we are still dependent on you to send us regular bug reports if there are any errors in the game.
Ultimately, this is the only way to make the game a little bit better with every update. Our mods are regularly testing, but this is only a small group and not every bug can be found, but most of them can.
The game world is also new, but there will probably be changes there too, as a new voxel version will be released at the beginning of next year and we really want to use it, as it contains a lot of new features and performance improvements. That's why not so much time is being invested in the current game world. We will keep you up to date on this.
Now we come to the date. Herewith we set December 6, 2024, where the same version will be available for everyone. Unfortunately, an exact time is not yet known, but just keep an eye on the social networks. Unfortunately, this also means that players who have not yet started the experimental version will have to start a new savegame. This is because the savegame files are unfortunately not compatible. We always try to avoid this, but disappointingly it doesn't always work.
As mentioned above, you can look forward to regular updates, including bug fixes, new features and much more.

Otherwise, the Gold Hunter team wishes you a great start to the new week.
