News about upcoming update

We would like to give you some news about the upcoming update.
The last update was only 2 weeks ago and we are currently working on a somewhat larger feature.

Some of you may have already noticed that the feature concerns the savegame system. We have been using the same savegame system since the release and so far this has been sufficient. However, we have noticed more and more that we unfortunately only have limited options and that this also restricts some functions in the game.

We have therefore decided to write a completely new savegame system. First of all, so that there is no panic, you don't have to start from scratch. All data will be taken from the old savegame. We have taken a little more time for this, so that we have built in a conversion function.

This means that when you load your savegame for the first time, the savegame will be converted and incorporated into the new structure.

But what's so great about the new savegame system? It's quite simply explained. With the old system, everything loaded at once when entering the map, no order could be determined and this led to various problems, including the player not even knowing what was being loaded. In addition, the voxel data and items as well as vehicles were loaded at the same time, which could cause problems under certain circumstances, as they may not have been in the right place as they were saved. We have heard this more and more from players.

Now we come to the advantages of the new system. You can determine exactly what is loaded first. The desired sequence is therefore as follows. The world itself is loaded first, then the voxel data from the savegame. As soon as this has been loaded, the vehicles are loaded first and then the items. Once all this has been loaded, various other data is loaded, such as player data, inventories, bank accounts, dynamic prices and much more.

This sequence allows us to precisely control the loading process of the save game and thus avoid various loading errors or problems.

In addition, the new savegame system will also have positive effects on multiplayer mode. These will not be noticeable immediately, but in the near future.

With the upcoming update, we have also been able to improve the network code for the multiplayer. This means that far fewer packets are sent over the network and can significantly improve performance. However, this is not quite finished yet and is still being restructured.

Now we come to the last news, we have a new Discord server.
The new Discord is already linked below, so if you are still on the old server, just come to the new Discord server and you are welcome to leave the old one.

To summarize, this means that the upcoming update will be released soon.
Currently we are still testing and improving a lot but it shouldn't take much longer.
So give us a few more days so that we can provide you with the best possible gaming experience with the new update.
