News about the public demo
Unfortunately we have to inform you that we have to postpone the release of the demo indefinitely.
The update on 29.01. will take place anyway, but only for the current players who also own the game.
The reasons for this are quickly explained. Since the headquarters of our development studio is located in Germany, we have to comply with the local legal requirements.
The authority "Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Minors" is responsible for the rating of the game.
It is clear from the guidelines that we are not allowed to publish the game until our game has received a classification.
This also includes the public demo. After several discussions with our lawyer and the authorities, it was decided that the public demo must be postponed.
Unfortunately we can't give a new date at the moment, because we don't know how long the processing of our request for evaluation will take.
The game can still be purchased, but it must not be available to the entire market.
This includes public demos and any other release that allows any player to use the game.
The authority "Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Minors" is also aware that the development of a game is financed by donations, support and possibly rewards, such as access to the game, merch, etc.
This is tolerated by the authorities and does not fall under the rating.
Of course we could publish the game before, but the risk is too big for us and we don't want to spend the money for fines and/or penalties.
We also know that this is not the news you expected or wished for, but we all want the game to be a success and we have to abide by the law.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and if you want, we can discuss it in a livestream on Twitch.
Otherwise we wish you a nice weekend. If there is any new information, we will let you know.
