Cavity Busters Update #8

Hey all! This update is a bit smaller compared to last weeks but we have two new enemies to crush you this time!

What's New:
  • 2 new enemies
  • 4 new minor stat up items. These can drop from treasure meat lumps.
  • 26 new rooms


Bug fixes and tweaks:
  • Incisor gummy now has different tooth projectile art
  • mini gums are slightly better
  • aim line now shows accuracy
  • reload tooth animation is now less intrusive
  • cleaned up the death screen a bit

Cavity Busters Update 7: New playable character

Howdy all! Another big update for this week. First and foremost we have a new playable Gummy!



This Gummy has lower health but starts with two teeth and is a bit faster. Instead of a boomerang charge shot, shooting a charged shot shoots two slow teeth. When the shoot button is pressed these teeth will home in on the nearest enemy. However if you were to collect the charged teeth before they hit an enemy or a wall, they'll fire off a powerful attack! The Gummy is unlocked the first time you beat the game. If you've beaten the game it'll unlock once start of the new update :) You'll be able to select it through the hub room computer.

What's new:
  • A new playable character
  • 2 new upgrades


Fixes and tweaks:
  • saving requires you to be in range of Gob
  • can now only gain one boss tooth at the start of the round
  • fixed a bug where Factory Lobe II boss would run in place
  • fixed a bug where upon loading a saved game player would have two bullet types
  • fixed a bug in tutorial that duplicates players
  • fixed a bug in tutorial that cause boomerang shot to fail
  • fixed a bug that would disable shooting when picking up an upgrade that gave extra teeth
  • now only pressing the jump button spends your jump instead of touching stunned enemies
  • fixed a bug where enemies would regain health upon being frozen
  • hyperthyroidism now takes away a percentage of enemy health
  • poison ammo now deals a small amount of base damage
  • run total should be more accurate now
  • can no longer save while digging
  • fixed potential memory leak
  • room modifiers will now be displayed in the starting room
  • tooth will now properly hit enemies instead of passing through them at high speeds

Cavity Busters Update # 6

Dental surgery is tough. And sometimes you need to take a break, change your shorts, and brush your teeth. This update brings a save and quit feature to the game!

Due to the complexity to how levels are generated, saving and quitting can only be done after a boss for the current level is defeated. You'll be able to save by interacting with the Gob. (mouth that takes you to the next level)

On top of that we have some new upgrades and other fixes and balances!

What's new:
  • save and quit a run
  • 4 new upgrades


Fixes and tweaks:
  • diarrhea won't disappear when the game is paused (diarrhea doesn't just disappear in real life duh)
  • digging on walls that have already been dug through will no longer increase your combo
  • fixed a crowned tooth exploit
  • nerfed Loogie
  • hypothermia spews fewer bullets. it's still a frozen bullet hell ;)
  • holding tab shows current floor
  • you no longer take damage while waiting to be taken to the next level
  • cleaned up some visual clutter during combat
  • reflektor synergy no longer disables tooth shot
  • while looping, dig X's can spawn minor stat up items. The probability increases as loops increase.
  • while looping, enemies hp increments at a lower rate

Cavity Busters Update # 5

Update 5!? Also what happened to update 4?? This week flew by. This update features a few new upgrades and a new game mode!

New features :
  • 4 new upgrades (3 minor stackables and 1 regular)
  • Turbo mode!


A sort of turbo mode could be achieved before through the accessibility options but I added it to the computer in the hub room. Bit more official now.

Bug fixes and tweaks :
  • rocket tooth got a debuff
  • wall dashing into stunned enemies where your dash goes past enemy, is now instantaneous
  • sound and music volume increments at a lower amount
  • sound and music sliders actually slide
  • tooth won't get stuck....hopefully.


Updates from here on out will be on the small side to allow for work to be done on the bigger features. But we'll still be doing weekly updates with upgrades, new rooms and bug fixes or whatever else is ready to go.

Update 4 hot fix 2

This is addresses a bug that would not allow the game to start due to some save file conflicts. These should be resolved now.
