Cavity Busters Update #15

Hello everyone! And welcome newcomers. Are your ready to eat? *nervous laughter* OK so since last weeks update was late and large like an overdue baby, this update is a bit smaller but still important and in need of your love.

What's new:
  • This is a potentially big change. In my time with it, I loved it. It's the wall run bubble. When wall running you receive i-frames. Now when the i-frames run out wall run bubble will pop, pushing away nearby enemies and destroying nearby bullets. It makes wall running much safer.
  • updated the stat icons
  • dronk boss room now has a map icon


Fixes and tweaks:
  • lab experiment won't spawn on duplicated enemies or slimes
  • tooth in turbo mode is much more reliable
  • gave some later enemies more hp
  • gave some faster enemies a delay start
  • fixed a bug where lasers were getting stuck in walls
  • fixed a few upgrades that weren't working properly with the baby character
  • most enemies created by duplicating or spawned by another enemy won't be champion enemies.

Cavity Busters Update # 14 - Fillings

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late, late night update. This update saw lots of needed changes under the hood so more time testing was needed. But lets get to the good stuff.

Fillings
First off, Fillings! Fillings are found in dig holes and from a specific enemy. There's a new enemy by the way! Anyways, fillings are used by a certain npc. He likes the shiny. They have another use but you'll inevitably find that.

Shop keepers room
The shop keepers room is bit more interesting. At least it can be. It'll require some upgrading on your part :)

What's new
  • synergies have a different pick up fx
  • minor upgrades can now spawn in the store in a 3 pack
  • dig holes cough up fillings
  • store overhaul
  • added hypothermia II upgrade
  • added mr morph upgrade
  • added travelling merchant upgrade
  • 5 new rooms
  • added filling ui
  • added unlock desc to locked players
  • new synergy


Fixes and tweaks
  • fixed where treasure map displays
  • stomach gives 3 max goop instead of two
  • deflected bullets have a visual change when deflected
  • changed the art for tumor seeds
  • frozen enemies carry over their stunned state when unfrozen
  • minty sale is locked by default now
  • if the main item pool is empty then a minor upgrade will spawn in stores
  • fixed a bug that caused a different sprite to appear for crops
  • player lasers wont get stuck in the wall anymore
  • hypothermia spews a few less bullets

Cavity Busters Update #13 - Harvest Tuum

Hello everyone! I got a fun little addition this week that took up most of my time. So onto that!

The Harvest Tuum
The Tuum will be unlocked through normal gameplay and adds a new area to the Hub. You'll be able to plant cells here. Cells will grow into Tumors. Tumors can be harvested, rewarding some starting items. However Tumors aren't good for the body.

What's new
  • added a few bits of lore to a couple bosses
  • added a press and hold requirement to restart and exit run buttons so accidental restarts are avoided
  • changed 'exit to menu' buttons to 'return to hub'


Fixes and tweaks
  • nerfed the minor upgrade duplicator
  • resurrecting brings you to half health instead of full now
  • nerfed Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease
  • tidy up the combo ui a little
  • fixed some bugs causing unfair damage from skin tags

Cavity Busters Update# 12

Hello everyone! How's it going? Here's another smallish update. The biggest feature of this the Lab Experiment. This adds another layer of choice. It has a fun little interaction with Minor upgrades that I'll let you find out for yourself. :)

What's New:
  • new enemy
  • new monumeat type
  • new art work for poop zits. it's gross
  • new minor upgrade: stomach
  • new upgrade: hungry hungry tooth-os
  • new disease: ???


Fixes and Tweaks:
  • nerfed obesiteeth
  • buffed flak ammo a bit more
  • eye snake bosses body no longer causes damage while rolling. his eye will still damage you though
  • can no longer set health to zero or below with accessibility options causing player to die instantly
  • rotten tooth will no longer spawn bullets upon hitting a wall or breaking environment that the player is very close to


Still working on some other features. They're taking longer then I thought but once there a bit more polished I'll start sharing them. As always thanks for playing and please drop a review and tell your friends about your newfound dental obsession!

Cavity Busters Update #11

Hello all! Happy weekend! Hope you're all doing good. I'm here with your weekly update with some new upgrades and some quality of life fixes. I'm working on some new stuff that will be showing up in the coming weeks. So working on that and trying to add weekly stuff is a balancing act.

What's New:
  • 4 new upgrades:

-Calcification
-Obesiteeth
-Electric Tooth
-Cup of Coffee

  • 1 new synergy
  • Another option for shot gums smoothness
  • Added the ability to scroll through the upgrades you've obtained when they start to go off screen
  • Added more info to death screen such as level you died on and number of loops achieved and how many stackables obtained in upgrade list
  • Picking up heart pieces will show how many you have
  • Added a button to randomize character select


The new shot gums option allows you to change shot gum use to just one button.

Tweaks and fixes:
  • fixed music overlapping when you loop
  • fixed text for laser gun upgrade
  • increased the range for dirty necklace
  • added outlines to frozen effect when visibility lines are turned on
  • fixed a collision bug that would freeze the game

A note to those leaving suggestions and bug reports. Thank you so much. It's so rad to see people taking to the game and wanting to have an impact on it. After working on a game this long, you start to lose some creative spark and the suggestions are helping me regain that again. There's so many suggestions that it's hard to add all of them.
