Material UI update

All windows have been updated with common material UI visuals.

Materials Update

The revamped mining experience has just gone live! This comes with major overhauls to the core mining systems, including:

Materials

Every material is now of a pre-defined list with color codes, making it easier to differentiate between materials. These changes allow easier development of future materials, and many more materials and material types will be coming soon.

Material routing

Through the updated UI, materials are now intuitively routed between buildings. This gives a clearer picture of how the different materials are being moved through a base.

Parts handling

How the parts are handled and saved on the back end have been reworked for performance reasons. This mainly impacts the builder when there are hundreds of possible part locations to install parts into, as seen in the new title screen!

Thank you for your patience as we focused on rebuilding the mining foundation of LithoBreak. Many more changes will be coming soon to build off this new foundation, including a revamped part production coming to the powder printer. Later we will be extending the mining experience to include new types of materials like metals and fluids.

We hope you enjoy this update!

We heard you like improvements

As we wrap up work on the mining revamp, we have also been taking time to improve the LithoBreak experience across the board. All of these improvements are now live on the public test branch and will be making it to the main branch in the coming weeks.
Smoother gameplay
With the major changes to the core mining mechanics, the Episode 1 objectives sequence has been reconfigured accordingly. We also took the chance to make the sequence more focused on the part production flow. This new sequence can be previewed in the test branch and early feedback is highly welcome.
Upping our color game
An appealing recent change has been migrating our in-game colors to a true color pallet. This includes making sure specific colors are dedicated to 'player interactable' elements for a more intuitive interface. The change is already a drastic improvement and we are in the process of implementing the pallet across all of the UI elements in the test branch.
Integrating feedback
We continue to implement significant changes and fixes on top of the massive mining revamp that itself was undertook based upon community feedback. This includes:

 • Migrating the in-game guide to the 'tablet' space in the console. (ongoing)
 • Station lighting changes.
 • Balancing mining experience. (ongoing)
 • Menacing satellites correctly enter orbit directly in front of the station.
 • Multiple explorations of possible mechanics to be announced later.

We are excited to be bringing the mining revamp to the main branch soon and start implementing new mining infrastructure upon this improved foundation. We would love to hear interesting suggestions on what mechanics would be interesting as we implement new mining system into LithoBreak. Let us know in the forums or on Discord.

Mining Revamp

As noted in the discussions forum and Discord, LithoBreak is currently undergoing a major revamp to the mining gameplay following all the great feedback to the pilot episode. While this may look mostly cosmetic on the surface, this shift has lead to significant internal changes as well. We have also taken this chance to restructure many of the games underpinnings to more naturally incorporate the planned science mechanics including inert smelting, electrolysis, and thermitic reactions.

These are major changes, hence why it has taken so long to provide new builds of LithoBreak. In the coming days we will start providing new builds on the open Test branch as we re-integrate the new mechanics into a refreshed LithoBreak experience. The wait is almost over!
